Subjective experiments involving 12 different conditions were conducted to investigate the effects of heated seats and foot heaters in vehicles on thermal sensation and thermal comfort. The experimental conditions involved various combinations of the operative temperature in the test room (10 or 20°C), a heated seat (on/off) and a foot heater (room operative temperature?+10 or?+20°C). The heated seat and foot heater improved the occupant's thermal sensation and comfort in cool environments. The room operative temperature at which the occupants felt a 'neutral' overall thermal sensation was decreased by about 3°C by using the heated seat or foot heater and by about 6°C when both devices were used. Moreover, the effects of these devices on vehicle heater energy consumption were investigated using simulations. As a result, it was revealed that heated seats and foot heaters can reduce the total heater energy consumption of vehicles. Statement of Relevance: Subjective experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of heated seats and foot heaters in vehicles on thermal comfort. Acoustooptic 2-D profile shaping of a Gaussian laser beam has been achieved by two plane ultrasonic waves progressing in orthogonal directions. The spot size W of the Gaussian laser beam must be considerable less than the wavelength lambda of the ultrasonic wave at the acoustooptic interaction region. The ultrasonic cell is dealt with as a Raman-Nath 2-D phase grating but serves as a 2-D beam deflector in time for the interaction scheme of interest. The wave front of the Gaussian laser beam must be almost plane in the interaction region. The profile shaping condition is 0.15 < or = (W/lambda) < or = 0.30 only when the Raman-Nath parameter dependent on the ultrasonic power has values between v = 1.0 and 2.0. 相似文献

Investigations were made of varistor microstructure, the morphology of Bi2O3 at multiple ZnO grain junctions, Bi2O3/ZnO grain boundaries and ZnO/ZnO grain boundaries (especially whether Bi2O3 is present or not at the ZnO/ZnO grain boundary) by means of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and X-ray microanalysis in the scanning transmission electron microscope. Bi2O3 at multiple ZnO grain junctions consists of small particles of 0.1m in diameter, and they are vitrified to some extent. In this paper we consider a deductive question-answering system for relational databases as a logic database system, and propose a knowledge assimilation method suitable for such a system. The concept of knowledge assimilation for deductive logic is constructed in an implementable form based on the notion of amalgamating object language and metalanguage. This concept calls for checks to be conducted on four subconcepts, provability, contradiction, redundancy, independency, and their corresponding internal database updates. Many experimental and analytical equations on a rate of a fatigue crack propagation have been proposed. However, it seems that they can not fully express its complex behavior. There are still many problems remaining to be solved in order to clarify its mechanism. One of them is to clarify the relation between the rate of the crack propagation and the mechanical properties of material. In this paper, the rate of the crack propagation is analysed to clarify this problem. This analysis is based on the observation results of the fatigue crack propagation behavior previously by the authors. The analytical result is compared with the experimental one to make sure that they agree with each other. We measured and calculated shock responses due to the thermal stick–slip phenomenon in hard disk drives. We first measured the stress wave propagation and found that a stress wave travels over the entire top cover of the drive in 30?μs at two velocities: 4.66 and 2.97?km/s. These are the velocities of longitudinal and distortional waves in a plate, respectively. The position error signal responded in 55?μs after the thermal stick–slip phenomenon happened. We then conducted a numerical analysis of wave propagation. The resultant stress wave propagation and the position error corresponded well to the measured ones. We found that the propagation path which leads overwriting on adjacent tracks is through the actuator to the head, not through the spindle motor to the disk. We concluded that stress waves can be detected with a shock sensor before they arrive at the head if the sensor is located at the pivot bearing or the actuator, which are on the propagation path. 相似文献

Eight subjects participated in a subjective experiment of eight conditions to investigate the effects of heated seats in vehicles on skin temperature, thermal sensation and thermal comfort during the initial warm-up period. The experimental conditions were designed as a combination of air temperature in the test room (5, 10, 15, or 20 °C) and heated seat (on/off). The heated seat was effective for improving thermal comfort during the initial warm-up period when air temperature was lower than 15 °C. Use of heated seats prevented decreases in or increased toe skin temperature. Heated seats also increased foot thermal sensation at 15 and 20 °C. Optimal thermal sensation in contact with the seat was higher when air temperature was lower. Optimal skin temperature in contact with the seat back was higher than that with the seat cushion. We present a design and implementation of a flexible videoconference system (VCS) using multiagent computing technology. The proposed system, we named FVCS, aims to reduce the burden of the users under the operational environment with insufficient computational resources, such as the Internet environment with small-scale computers at homes and offices, by embedding flexibility to the conventional videoconference system. In this paper, we design and implement FVCS with knowledge-based multiagent framework to realize adaptability of FVCS. We also evaluate the adaptability of the prototype systems of FVCS based on an operational situation observed in its experiments. From the result of the experiments, we conclude that the multiagent-based design and implementation is reasonable for construction of FVCS. 相似文献
