4-Arylidene-2-phenyl-1-substituted-2-imidazolin-5-ones 1a – d react with organomagnesium compounds, in ether at room temperature, to yield, as the main isolable products, the 4-disubstituted-methyl derivatives 2a – h . On the other hand, 1a – d react with phenylmagnesium bromide in a boiling ether-benzene mixture to give, among the reaction products, 2a – d and the 4-diarylmethylene derivatives 3a – d . Spectral data of 2 and 3 are discussed. Treatment of the GRIGNARD products 2a – c with formaldehyde and piperidine or morpholine effects aminomethylation at C-4 with the formation of the MANNICH bases 6a – f .  相似文献

Hierarchical core–shell (C–S) heterostructures composed of a NiO shell deposited onto stacked‐cup carbon nanotubes (SCCNTs) are synthesized by atomic layer deposition (ALD). A film of NiO particles (0.80–21.8 nm in thickness) is uniformly deposited onto the inner and outer walls of the SCCNTs. The electrical resistance of the samples is found to increase of many orders of magnitude with the increasing of the NiO thickness. The response of NiO–SCCNT sensors toward low concentrations of acetone and ethanol at 200 °C is studied. The sensing mechanism is based on the modulation of the hole‐accumulation region in the NiO shell layer upon chemisorption of the reducing gas molecules. The electrical conduction mechanism is further studied by the incorporation of an Al2O3 dielectric layer at NiO and SCCNT interfaces. The investigations on NiO–Al2O3–SCCNT, Al2O3–SCCNT, and NiO–SCCNT coaxial heterostructures reveal that the sensing mechanism is strictly related to the NiO shell layer. The remarkable performance of the NiO–SCCNT sensors toward acetone and ethanol benefits from the conformal coating by ALD, large surface area of the SCCNTs, and the optimized p‐NiO shell layer thickness followed by the radial modulation of the space‐charge region.  相似文献

Information about crystal growth rates and the influence of impurities are essential for the design of industrial crystallization processes. Here, the influence of trivalent metal ions Fe3+ in solution and adsorbed in the crystal on the growth and dissolution rate is investigated. The results clearly show kinetic and thermodynamic effects caused by impurities which have to be taken into account in the equipment design. Furthermore, effects of growth rate dispersion must be excluded by investigation of crystal collectives. Additionally, the crystal growth data should be obtained from real starting solutions.  相似文献

Advances in wireless communication protocols and networking toward support of the next generation of mobile and radio broadband technologies have contributed to a strong competition among various telecommunication standards in particular Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Mobile Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX). In this paper, we provide an in‐depth comparison analysis of LTE and Mobile WiMAX at the physical (PHY) layer by studying the most similar PHY configuration scenarios for these two technologies. Our study includes a throughput analysis of downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) transmissions in time division duplex with the least overhead possible and different antenna schemes as well as modulation and code rates. This study also performs an overhead analysis in both protocols to provide a more in‐depth understanding of the PHY layer capacity in various PHY layer configurations. Our simulation results generally show higher performance for LTE in both DL and UL transmission with 7 Mbps in DL and 5 Mbps in UL, when using one antenna port. However, by increasing the number of antennas for multiple‐input/multiple‐output configurations, the results illustrate a reduction in the performance of LTE compared to Mobile WiMAX. This arises from the increase in reference signal overhead in LTE from 4.7% in single‐input/single‐output (SISO) to 14.28% in 4 × 4 multiple‐input/multiple‐output (MIMO). In a strong earthquake, a standard reinforced concrete (RC) column may develop plastic deformations in regions often termed as plastic hinge regions. A plastic hinge is basically an energy dampening device that dampens energy through the plastic rotation of a rigid column connection, which triggers redistribution of bending moments. The formation of a plastic hinge in an RC column in regions that experience inelastic actions depends on the characteristics of the earthquakes as well as the column details. Recordings from recent earthquakes have provided evidence that ground motions in the near field of a rupturing fault can contain a large energy or ‘directivity’ pulse. A directivity pulse occurs when the propagation of the fault proceeds at nearly the same rate as the shear wave velocity. This pulse is seen in the forward direction of the rupture and can cause considerable damage during an earthquake, especially to structures with natural periods that are close to those of the pulse. In the present paper, 1316 inelastic time‐history analyses have been performed to predict the nonlinear behaviour of RC columns under both far‐fault and near‐fault ground motions. The effects of axial load, height over depth ratio and amount of longitudinal reinforcement, as well as different characteristics of earthquakes, were evaluated analytically by finite element methods and the results were compared with corresponding experimental data. Based on the results, simple expressions were proposed that can be used to estimate plastic hinge length of RC columns subjected to both far‐fault and near‐fault earthquakes that contain a forward‐directivity effect. Superhydrophobic coatings were prepared using fluorosilane‐treated diatomaceous earth (DE) with either polyurethane or epoxy binders. The surface wettability and morphology of the films were analyzed using contact angle measurements and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. The water contact angles were studied as a function of the fluorocarbon fraction on DE and the particle loadings of treated DE in the coating. The contact angles exceeded 150° for coatings with at least 0.02 fluorocarbon fraction (mass of fluorosilane/mass of particle) on the DE and with 0.2 particle loadings (mass of treated particles/mass of coating). The water contact angles of the surfaces were dependent on the nature of the binder below 0.2 particle loadings of the superhydrophobic DE particles, but were independent of the binder type after attaining superhydrophobicity. The results were consistent with the superhydrophobicity resulting from the migration of the superhydrophobic DE moving to and covering the surfaces completely. It was also shown that the treatment with fluorosilanes restricted the pores in DE and reduces the specific surface area of the material. However, these changes had effectively no effect on the superhydrophobicity of the coatings. The results of this work clearly identify some important considerations relative to producing superhydrophobic coatings from inexpensive diatomaceous earth. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl.
