Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology has become an attractive approach for enabling large-scale video streaming applications, but the factor of users’ subjective preferences is not paid enough attention in such networks. As users have various demand on video qualities, we can provide them with video streams at different resolutions without impairing their satisfaction. The adaptive streaming rate technique is a promising method. However, in providing adaptive streaming rate services, P2P live streaming design faces the following challenge: how to provide all users with uninterrupted video with their desired qualities in case that their demand dynamically changes? To shed more light on this problem, we first derive a model and formulate the problem as a resource demand vs supply problem. Then we present a framework to address the challenge via efficient bandwidth allocation and group cooperation. Through comprehensive simulations, we evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed framework, and conclude that it effectively helps existing solutions, such as Partial Participation Scheme (PPS), achieve better performance.  相似文献

K-hyperline clustering is an iterative algorithm based on singular value decomposition and it has been successfully used in sparse component analysis. In this paper, we prove that the algorithm converges to a locally optimal solution for a given set of training data, based on Lloyd’s optimality conditions. Furthermore, the local optimality is shown by developing an Expectation-Maximization procedure for learning dictionaries to be used in sparse representations and by deriving the clustering algorithm as its special case. The cluster centroids obtained from the algorithm are proved to tessellate the space into convex Voronoi regions. The stability of clustering is shown by posing the problem as an empirical risk minimization procedure over a function class. It is proved that, under certain conditions, the cluster centroids learned from two sets of i.i.d. training samples drawn from the same probability space become arbitrarily close to each other, as the number of training samples increase asymptotically.  相似文献

High molecular weight polyaniline (PANI) was synthesized by a combined procedure incorporating various synthesis methods. Temperature and open circuit potential of the reaction mixture were collected to monitor the reaction progress. The polymer is characterized by various techniques including gel permeation chromatography, dynamic light scattering, infrared spectroscopy, solid‐state nuclear magnetic resonance, and differential scanning calorimetry for elucidating the molecular architecture obtained by this method. As‐synthesized PANI was found to possess high molecular weight, reduced branching, reduced cross‐linking, and to predominantly consist of linear polymer chains. This polymer was also found to be more stable in solution form. J–V characteristics of as‐synthesized PANI films indicate a high current density which is due to increased free pathways and less traps for the charge transport to occur in PANI films. POLYM. ENG. Metal oxide/nitride nanocomposites have many existing and potential applications, e.g. in energy conversion or ammonia synthesis. Here, a hybrid oxide/nitride nanocomposite (anatase/TixW1−xN) was synthesized by an ammonia-free sol–gel route. Synchrotron x-ray diffraction, complemented with electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, was used to study the structure, composition and mechanism of formation of the nanocomposite. The nanocomposite contained nanoparticles (<5 nm diameter) of two highly intermixed phases. This was found to arise from controlled nucleation and growth of a single oxide intermediate from the gel precursor, followed by phase separation and in situ selective carbothermal nitridation. Depending on the preparation conditions, the composition varied from anatase/TixW1−xN at low W content to an isostructural mixture of Ti-rich and W-rich TixW1−xN at high W content. In situ selective carbothermal nitridation offers a facile route to the synthesis of nitride-oxide nanocomposites. This conceptually new approach is a significant advance from previous methods, which generally require ammonolysis of a pre-synthesized oxide.  相似文献

Cloud computing enables the provisioning of resources in a reliable and on-demand manner. With the increasing importance of the network bandwidth in the Cloud environment, the networking related resources need to be optimally allocated together with the traditional Cloud computing resources. In addition, the significant growth of the global data center traffic raises the challenge of supporting demands with large bandwidth requirements for the Cloud provider. In our paper, we consider the network-efficient virtualized cloud infrastructure provisioning problem in IP over elastic optical network (IP-over-EON) based on the data center as a service model. The elastic optical network is adopted to provide spectrum and cost-efficient networking resources for large bandwidth requests in our work. We develop mixed integer linear programming formulations to construct the mathematic model for this problem and propose a cost-optimized heuristic to solve this problem. To investigate the cost and blocking rate for the served demands, different modulation formats are compared in the EON layer, and the sliceable bandwidth-variable transponders and optical traffic grooming technology are considered. The experimental results show that different modulation formats that are adopted in the EON layer will have different impacts on the total cost and demand blocking rate for the same data set size. Also the use of SBVT will reduce the total cost no matter which modulation format is adopted, and the reduction is related to the bandwidth requirement of the demands.  相似文献

Joints are primary sources of weakness in structures. Pin joints are very common and are used where periodic disassembly of components is needed. A circular pin in a circular hole in an infinitely large plate is an abstraction of such a pin joint. A two-dimensional plane-stress analysis of such a configuration is carried out, here, subjected to pin-bearing and/or biaxial-plate loading. The pin is assumed to be rigid compared to the plate material. For pin load the reactive stresses at the edges of the infinite plate tend to zero though their integral over the external boundary equals to the pin load. The pin-hole interface is unbonded and so beyond some load levels the plate separates from the pin and the extent of separation is a non-linear function of load level. The problem is solved by inverse technique where the extent of contact is specified and the causative loads are evaluated directly. In the situations where combined load is acting the separation-contact zone specification generally needs two parameters (angles) to be specified. The present report deals with analysing such a situation in metallic (or isotropic) plates. Numerical results are provided for parametric representation and the methodology is demonstrated.  相似文献

Cold-bonded fly ash aggregate concrete with fly ash as part of binder or fine aggregate facilitates high volume utilization of fly ash in concrete with minimum energy consumption. This paper investigates the influence of fly ash on strength and sorption behaviour of cold-bonded fly ash aggregate concrete due to partial replacement of cement and also as replacement material for sand. While cement replacement must be restricted based on the compressive strength requirement at desired age, replacement of sand with fly ash appears to be advantageous from early days onwards with higher enhancement in strength and higher utilization of fly ash in mixes of lower cement content. Microstructure of concrete was examined under BSEI mode. Replacement of sand with fly ash is effective in reducing water absorption and sorptivity attributable to the densification of both matrix and matrix–aggregate interfacial bond. Cold-bonded fly ash aggregate concrete with a cement content of 250 kg/m3, results in compressive strength of about 45 MPa, with a total inclusion of around 0.6 m3 of fly ash in unit volume of concrete.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the properties of sintered aggregates with low calcium bottom ash from coal fired thermal power plants using a wide range of clay binders through pelletization process. The experimental runs were designed using central composite design of response surface methodology. The aggregate was produced using a disc pelletizer. The pelletized aggregate was sintered at 800–1100 °C for 30–120 min. Sintered aggregates were tested for bulk density, 10% fines value and water absorption. The factors involved in the process are moisture content, binder, Ca(OH)2 dosage, sintering temperature and duration. It was observed that an increase in binder dosage and sintering temperature resulted in aggregates with higher 10% fines value and low water absorption. The properties of aggregates depended on the type of binder used. Aggregate with kaolinite and metakaolin binders resulted in high 10% fines value. The results indicate the potential for manufacturing high quality lightweight aggregate from bottom ash using clay binders.  相似文献
