2D semiconductor quantum wells have been recognized as potential candidates for various quantum devices. In quantum wells, electrons and holes are spatially confined within a finite thickness and freely move in 2D space. Much effort has focused on shape control of colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals(NCs), and synthesis of 2D colloidal NCs has been achieved very recently. Here, recent advances in colloidal synthesis of uniform and ultrathin 2D CdSeNCs are highlighted. Structural and optical property characterization of these quantum-sized 2D CdSe NCs is discussed. Additionally, 2D CdSe NCs doped with Mn 2+ ions for dilute magnetic semiconductors (DMS) are presented.These 2D CdSe-based NCs can be used as model systems for studying quantum-well structures.  相似文献

Quantifying in-use PM measurements for heavy duty diesel vehicles   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Heavy duty emissions regulations have recently expanded from the laboratory to include in-use requirements. This paradigm shift to in-use testing has forced the development of portable emissions measurement systems (PEMS) for particulate matter (PM). These PM measurements are not trivial for laboratory work, and are even more complex for in-use testing. This study evaluates five PM PEMS in comparison to UCR's mobile reference laboratory under in-use conditions. Three on-highway, heavy-duty trucks were selected to provide PM emissions levels from 0.1 to 0.0003 g/hp-h, with varying compositions of elemental carbon (EC), organic carbon (OC), and sulfate. The on-road driving courses included segments near sea level, at elevations up to 1500 m, and coastal and desert regions. The photoacoustic measurement PEMS performed best for the non-after treatment system (ATS)-equipped engine, where the PM was mostly EC, with a linear regression slope of 0.91 and an R(2) of 0.95. The PEMS did not perform as well for the 2007 modified ATS equipped engines. The best performing PEMS showed a slope of 0.16 for the ATS-equipped engine with predominantly sulfate emissions and 0.89 for the ATS-equipped engine with predominantly OC emissions, with the next best slope at 0.45 for the predominantly OC engine.  相似文献

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques coupled with multivariate data analysis were used to conduct monitoring of biochemical changes of black raspberry fruits at different stages of maturation and under various extraction and NMR dissolution solvent conditions: extraction with 50% methanol and D2O as an NMR dissolution solvent, extraction with 50% methanol and 50% methanol-d4 as an NMR dissolution solvent, and extraction with 100% ethyl acetate and 100% methanol-d4 as an NMR dissolution solvent. Partial least-squares discriminant analysis reliably distinguished black raspberry fruits according to the maturation stage, whereby the relative levels of various compounds such as amino acids, organic acids, sugars and phenolic compounds were compared using analysis of variance. Sucrose and most of the amino acids, and organic acids decreased, whereas fructose, glucose, and cyanidins increased in relative concentration according to maturation of black raspberry fruits. The total number and kinds of assigned compounds of the three solvent systems were also compared. This research demonstrates that the metabolic profile of black raspberry fruits changes during maturation, and provides objective criteria for determining the stage of black raspberry fruit maturation via a 1H NMR-based metabolomics technique using multiple solvent systems.  相似文献

To fabricate a low cost, highly conductive ink for inkjet printing, we synthesized a gram scale of uniformly sized Sn nanoparticles by using a modified polyol process and observed a significant size-dependent melting temperature depression from 234.1?°C for bulk Sn to 177.3?°C for 11.3 nm Sn nanoparticles. A 20 wt% of Sn nanoparticles was dispersed in the 50% ethylene glycol: 50% isopropyl alcohol mixed solvent for the appropriate viscosity (11.6 cP) and surface tension (32 dyn cm(-1)). To improve the electrical property, we applied the surface treatments of hydrogen reduction and plasma ashing. The two treatments had the effect of diminishing the sheet resistance from 1 kΩ/sq to 50 Ω/sq. In addition, conductive patterns (1 cm × 1 cm) were successfully drawn on the Si wafer using an inkjet printing instrument with conductive Sn ink. The maximum resistivity for an hour of sintering at 250?°C was 64.27 μΩ cm, which is six times higher than the bulk Sn resistivity (10.1 μΩ cm).  相似文献
