A new type of hybrid constructed wetland (CW), consisting of both vertical-baffled flow wetland (VBFW) and horizontal subsurface flow wetland (HSFW), has been deployed in Southern China to naturally accelerate the removal of organic matter and nitrogen. The hybrid CW system is characterised by a combination of continuous baffled flow vertical wetland and 'S' pattern horizontal subsurface flow wetland with natural aeration ditches to increase the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the HSFW bed. An internal circulatory system from the HSFW effluent back to the VBFW may optionally be operated to enhance the biological denitrification effect. Cyperus alternifolius is the main macrophyte in the wetland bed. The performance of the hybrid CW was studied with a pilot-scale system and three full-scale systems for municipal sewage treatment in Southern China. The results suggest that this new hybrid CW can achieve removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand, suspended solids, ammonia nitrogen, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus of better than 83.6, 95.0, 71.7, 64.5 and 68.1% respectively, with a specific wetland bed area of 0.70-0.93 m(2) PE(-1). The mean effluent concentrations of these parameters would meet the regulatory discharge limits for wastewater treatment systems (GB18918, 2002) and reuse in the context of agricultural irrigation solutions in China. 相似文献

High accuracy forecasting of medium and long-term hydrological runoff is beneficial to reservoir operation and management.
A hybrid model is proposed for medium and long-term hydrological forecasting in this paper. The hybrid model consists of two
methods, Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) and Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA). In this model, the time series
of annual runoff are first decomposed into several sub-series corresponding to some tendentious and periodic motions by using
SSA and then each sub-series is predicted, respectively, through an appropriate ARIMA model, and lastly a correction procedure
is conducted for the sum of the prediction results to ensure the superposed residual to be a pure random series. The annual
runoff data of two reservoirs in China are analyzed as case studies. The results have been compared with the predictions made
by ARIMA and Singular Spectrum Analysis-Linear Recurrent Formulae (SSA-LRF). It is shown that hybrid model has the best performance. 相似文献

Advances in wireless access technologies such as WiMax and LTE have accelerated the development of wireless video applications.Though existing erasure codes are designed for wireless data broadcasting,their potential can only be realized for wireless video broadcasting if the distortions associated with video packets and their complex decoding dependency are taken into consideration.In this paper,we propose the greedy video erasure code(GVEC)to minimize average video distortion by accounting for the temporal scalable decoding dependency among video frames e.g.I,P and B frames in MPEG.GVEC is a greedy algorithm and sufers from high computational complexity.For practical implementation,we have designed the joint video adaptation and erasure code(JVEC)with lower complexity,which can generate erasure codes on the fly to guarantee the decoding of important video frames.Simulation results show that the performance of JVEC is very close to that of GVEC,and is superior to that of existing erasure codes.Our results also show the existence of a performance tradeof between video distortion and video packet throughput. 相似文献

Abstract In this study, we examined the views of 10 experts and 10 novices on effective mathematics instruction in China. We found that all the participants valued students’ mastering of mathematical knowledge and skills and their development in mathematical thinking methods and abilities. Compared with novice teachers, expert teachers emphasized the development of students’ mathematical thinking and higher order thinking abilities and properly dealing with important and difficult content points.
