Reliability of lead-free solder joints has been a hot topic widely debated in the electronic industry. Most published data indicate that a change to lead-free soldering has the potential benefit of more reliable solder joints than the current Sn-Pb eutectic solder joints. However, in reality many mechanical, metallurgical, thermal, and environmental factors affect the service reliability of solder joints. This paper tries to shed some light on the effects of mechanical loading and thermal conditions on solder joint reliability. These conditions are determined not only by external environments but also by the solder alloy itself and the joint geometry. Analyses with first principles are carried out on solder joints of both areal array and peripheral packages. Effects on fatigue life of solder joint geometry, thermal and mechanical characteristics of components and substrate materials, and application conditions are discussed. The analysis helps explain why lead-free solder joints may not be more reliable in certain application conditions than the current Sn-Pb eutectic solder joints.  相似文献

The immI operon of phage P1 contains the genes c4, icd, and ant, which are transcribed in that order from the same constitutive promoter, P51b. The gene c4 encodes an antisense RNA which inhibits the synthesis of an antirepressor by acting on a target ant mRNA. Interaction depends on the complementarity of two pairs of short sequences encompassing virs+ and the ribosome-binding site involved in ant expression. Accordingly, in a P1 virs mutant phage, antirepressor is synthesized constitutively. We have isolated lysogen-proficient, second-site suppressors of P1 virs in order to evaluate the interdependence of the immI-specific genes. From a total of 17 suppressors analyzed, 15 were found to be located in the icd gene. They were identified as frameshift mutations, containing base insertions or deletions in tandem repeats of a single base pair. One suppressor was identified as a P51b promoter-down mutation; the second site of another suppressor was found to be located in the c4 gene. Furthermore, it was shown that virs cannot be suppressed by ant (icd+) suppressors. The results confirm the model that the immI operon is transcribed as a unit, that the icd and ant genes are translationally coupled, and that the constitutive synthesis of Icd protein alone is lethal to the bacterial cell. The existence of a c4 suppressor of virs, whose effect is not yet known, points to a still more complex regulation of antirepressor synthesis than was anticipated from the model.  相似文献

The care of patients refusing blood transfusion who require major ablative surgery for malignancy is a continuing challenge. The use of recombinant human erythropoietin is clearly efficacious in patients with renal disease and may be useful in anemic patients who refuse transfusion. Traditional sunflower oil (SO), randomized lipid (RL) and specific structured lipid (SL), both produced from SO and tricaprylin/caprylic acid, respectively, were stored for up to 12 wk to compare their oxidative stabilities by chemical and sensory analyses. Furthermore, the effect of adding a commercial antioxidant blend Grindox 117 (propyl gallate/ citric acid/ascorbyl palmitate) or gallic acid to the SL was investigated. The lipid type affected the oxidative stability: SL was less stable than SO and RL. The reduced stability was most likely caused by both the structure of the lipid and differences in production/ purification, which caused lower tocopherol content and higher initial levels of primary and secondary oxidation products in SL compared with RL and SO. Grindox 117 and gallic acid did not exert a distinct antioxidative effect in the SL oil samples during storage.  相似文献
