Moricizine is a novel phenothiazine antiarrhythmic agent that depresses the activity of ectopic foci, has a low incidence of adverse effects relative to other agents, and is useful in treating pediatric atrial ectopic tachycardia. A study was conducted to determine the pharmacokinetics of moricizine in children after oral administration. Moricizine was isolated from frozen serum obtained from four male patients (ages 7, 8, 9, and 18 years) receiving the drug for supraventricular tachycardia and analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection according to an established protocol. Peak serum levels were between 400 and 2000 ng/mL. Elimination of moricizine did not follow simple single-compartment pharmacokinetics. In three patients we observed an increase or slower decline in blood level occurring after 4 hours. Because of the paroxysmal nature of the tachycardias, decreases in patient heart rate could not be correlated with moricizine blood level. These results suggest that the pediatric pharmacokinetics of moricizine excretion are complex and may differ from those seen in adults.  相似文献

We use the one-component equivalent of an ideal solution to show how an “elementary excitations” treatment of the thermal behavior of a glass-forming liquid can reproduce the observations of experiments and computer simulations on the excitation of simple liquids and also provide a testable explanation of the origin of so-called “fragile-liquid” behavior. We then introduce a treatment of interacting excitations in the one-component system, which is formally similar to the regular-solution treatment of nonideal binary solutions, in order to model co-operativity in the excitation process. This refinement permits us to understand the changes in liquid properties in covalently bonded binary systems such as Ge-Se, which occur as the average number of bonds per atom exceeds the value of 2.4. The bond density of 2.4 has been identified by the constraint-counting theory as the rigidity percolation threshold, and overconstraining at higher bond densities induces cooperativity in the thermal excitation process. The treatment further predicts a liquid-liquid phase transition for strongly overconstrained networks, which we identify with the amorphous-phase “melting” phenomenon reported by experimentalists for Ge and Si. The treatment suggests that glasses formed in these systems by various routes, of which cooling through the liquid-liquid transition is only one, may be in very low states of configurational excitation, which would correlate with the remarkable absence of the “ubiquitous” boson peaks and tunneling excitations from such glasses. The authors investigated the emergence of gender differences in clinical depression and the overall development of depression from preadolescence to young adulthood among members of a complete birth cohort using a prospective longitudinal approach with structured diagnostic interviews administered 5 times over the course of 10 years. Small gender differences in depression (females greater than males) first began to emerge between the ages of 13 and 15. However, the greatest increase in this gender difference occurred between ages 15 and 18. Depression rates and accompanying gender differences for a university student subsample were no different than for a nonuniversity subsample. There was no gender difference for depression recurrence or for depression symptom severity. The peak increase in both overall rates of depression and new cases of depression occurred between the ages of 15 and 18. Results suggest that middle-to-late adolescence (ages 15–18) may be a critical time for studying vulnerability to depression because of the higher depression rates and the greater risk for depression onset and dramatic increase in gender differences in depression during this period. In this polemical essay the authors ask whether computerisation has become the neurosis of our age. By comparing the application of IT methodologies with ritual behaviour within human social institutions, they propose that the so-called rationality of management science, with its tidy benchmarking, auditing, categorisation and performance measurements etc., is actually a pseudo-science. They show that from the position of Nietzschean epistemology, this rationality is merely a false claim to the instrumental efficacy of data modelling, that is indistinguishable from the rain-dancing of primitive tribes.  相似文献

This article describes the methodological approach of systemic psychology. In the framework of this approach a wide range of experimental data is analyzed: results of neuronal recordings in vitro and in awake normal and pathological animals learning to perform and performing both complex instrumental and simple behavioral acts. Another block of analyzed data is based on the experiments with human subjects that learn and perform the tasks of categorization of words and operator tasks, subjects, performing group game activity and answering the questionnaires of psychodiagnostic methods. As a result of this analysis, the system psychology approach is used to describe qualitatively and quantitatively the formation and realization of individual experience.  相似文献

This study reports seven cases of epulis excised by the CO2 laser without anesthesia. The laser was used in a continuous wave mode at power setting of 2-4 W. All lesions were excised completely, and no patients felt pain during laser irradiation. The operation was successful without using surgical packs, and there was no postoperative discomfort. Classrooms of 4-yr-olds attending Head Start were randomly assigned to an intervention condition, involving an add-on emergent literacy curriculum, or a control condition, involving the regular Head Start curriculum. Children in the intervention condition experienced interactive book reading at home and in the classroom as well as a classroom-based sound and letter awareness program. Children were pretested and posttested on standardized tests of language, writing, linguistic awareness, and print concepts. Effects of the intervention were significant across all children in the domains of writing and print concepts. Effects on language were large but only for those children whose primary caregivers had been actively involved in the at-home component of the program. One linguistic awareness subtest, involving the ability to identify the 1st letter and 1st sound of words, showed significant effects.
