For the first time, we show that Tritrichomonas foetus can adhere on superhydrophilic vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (VACNT) films. Scanning electron microscopy shows an unusual adhesion with a higher membrane filopodium projection in all directions, directly attached to superhydrophilic VACNT tips.  相似文献

The objectives of this work were to establish a safe and economically viable process for the removal of raffinose oligosaccharides (RO) from soy flour and compare the effects of RO elimination from diets with regard to nutritional parameters by testing in Wistar rats. Debaryomyces hansenii UFV-1 was cultivated in suspension of defatted soy flour (1:10 w/v). An increase in α-galactosidase activity was observed in the medium, with a consequent decrease in the RO concentration. A total reduction of RO was achieved at 36 h of incubation. The diet containing soy flour free of RO presented higher digestibility, 91.28%, in relation to the diet containing soy flour with RO, 87.14%. However, the removal of the oligosaccharides from the diet did not promote a significant improvement in the values of weight gain, and other nutritional parameters tested on rats, during the experimental period of 14 days.  相似文献

New carbon composite materials were prepared by pyrolysis of mixture of coffee wastes and red mud at 700 °C with the inorganic: organic ratios of 1.9 (CC-1.9) and 2.2 (CC-2.2). These adsorbents were used to remove reactive orange 16 (RO-16) and reactive red 120 (RR-120) textile dyes from aqueous solution. The CC-1.9 and CC-2.2 materials were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Nitrogen adsorption/desorption curves, scanning electron Microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The kinetic of adsorption data was fitted by general order kinetic model. A three-parameter isotherm model, Liu isotherm model, gave the best fit of the equilibrium data (298 to 323 K). The maximum amounts of dyes removed at 323 K were 144.8 (CC-1.9) and 139.5 mg g?1 (CC-2.2) for RO-16 dye and 95.76 (CC-1.9) and 93.80 mg g?1 (CC-2.2) for RR-120 dye. Two simulated dyehouse effluents were used to investigate the application of the adsorbents for effluent treatment.  相似文献

An innovative neuro-evolutionary approach for mobile robot egomotion estimation with a 3D ToF camera is proposed. The system is composed of two main modules following a preprocessing step. The first module is a Neural Gas network that computes a Vector Quantization of the preprocessed camera 3D point cloud. The second module is an Evolution Strategy that estimates the robot motion parameters by performing a registration process, searching on the space of linear transformations, restricted to the translation and rotation, between the codebooks obtained for successive camera readings. The fitness function is the matching error between the predicted and the observed codebook corresponding to the next camera readings. In this paper, we report results of an implementation of this system tested on data from a real mobile robot, and provide several comparisons between our and other well-known registration algorithms.  相似文献

The influence of the carbon black content on the mechanical and electrical properties of polypropylene/carbon black composites prepared by different processing procedures was investigated. The formation of a continuous conducting network in the insulating matrix and, consequently, the percolation threshold depend strongly on the processing route and influence both the mechanical and electrical properties of the prepared composites. This work describes the utilization of a Pt UME in the study of the hydrogen evolution reaction in 0.5 M H2SO4. A non-linear fitting procedure was employed in order to analyze polarization curves obtained at several temperatures (25–75 °C). The results revealed that the traditionally accepted model described by a Volmer–Tafel route fails to fit the obtained experimental data. In this sense, a new model was proposed involving the Volmer–Heyrovsky mechanism, being the Heyrovsky reaction rate determining step. To achieve the best fit between experimental and calculated data, the kinetic equations had to be proposed with a small value of the transfer coefficient (β<0.2). This unusual value was associated with an activationless process, which can also justify the limiting kinetic current (not diffusional) observed. Trying to get further insight into this possibility, the polarization studies were also performed on a surface modified by underpotentially deposited copper. With a degree of coverage as high as 0.8, the only observed effect on the polarization curves was a shift towards minor current values. This shift can be completely justified by the blocking of surface area. A change in mechanism was not observed albeit the Cu UPD eliminated the pairs of neighbor active sites necessary to the Volmer–Tafel pathway.  相似文献

In the present study, six families of sulfated polysaccharides were obtained from seaweed Dictyopteris delicatula by proteolytic digestion, followed by acetone fractionation and molecular sieving on Sephadex G-100. Chemical analyses demonstrated that all polysaccharides contain heterofucans composed mainly of fucose, xylose, glucose, galactose, uronic acid, and sulfate. The fucans F0.5v and F0.7v at 1.0 mg/mL showed high ferric chelating activity (~45%), whereas fucans F1.3v (0.5 mg/mL) showed considerable reducing power, about 53.2% of the activity of vitamin C. The fucan F1.5v presented the most prominent anticoagulant activity. The best antiproliferative activity was found with fucans F1.3v and F0.7v. However, F1.3v activity was much higher than F0.7v inhibiting almost 100% of HeLa cell proliferation. These fucans have been selected for further studies on structural characterization as well as in vivo experiments, which are already in progress.  相似文献

Hindsight bias has been shown to be a pervasive and potentially harmful decision-making bias. A review of 4 competing cognitive reconstruction theories of hindsight bias revealed conflicting predictions about the role and effect of expectation or surprise in retrospective judgment formation. Two experiments tested these predictions examining the effects of manipulating the information presented in a text-based scenario and its congruency with the given outcome on surprise, hindsight bias, and recall. The results of Experiment 1 revealed evidence of hindsight bias after exposure to incongruent and ambivalent outcomes but not after exposure to congruent outcomes. Experiment 2 replicated the hindsight bias results and found that the ratio of outcome consistent information recalled was higher than expected in the incongruent and ambivalent conditions but equaled the ratio presented to participants in the congruent condition. The results were interpreted as supporting the general predictions of sense-making models of the hindsight bias. A refined version of this model is discussed. Nanosized powders of La0.80Sr0.20Fe0.95Cu0.05O3?w were investigated in terms of structural, morphological, chemical and surface properties by using several characterization techniques. The XPS and IR measurements showed the presence of surface hydroxide and carbonates species. After calcination of the powders at 900 °C the amount of carbonates decreased but was still significant. The sensing activity of thick film based on La0.80Sr0.20Fe0.95Cu0.05O3?w was tested as a function of relative humidity and the results indicate that (i) after one year of ambient storage the sensing material lost quite completely its sensitivity to humidity, (ii) the sensing activity of the film was mostly re-activated after a thermal treatment at 900 °C for 2 h, and (iii) the huge shift of the detection limit to low RH caused by the presence of 5 mol% Cu is also restored.  相似文献
