Prior to testing embedded software in a target environment, it is usually tested in a host environment used for developing the software. When a system is tested in a host environment, its real‐time behaviour is affected by the use of simulators, emulation and monitoring. In this paper, the authors provide a semantics for host‐based testing with simulated time and propose a simulated‐time solution for distributed testing with TTCN‐3, which is a standardized language for specifying and executing test suites. Back-scatter electron images of subsurface structures of higher atomic number than the matrix are obtained at accelerating voltages of 50, 100, 150 and 200 kV. Similar back-scatter images of structures on the bottom surface of single crystal foils of copper and mica ranging in thickness from 1 to 4 μm are compared with STEM images. It is concluded that at 200 kV a reasonable resolution of structures down to 1 μm subsurface is possible. 相似文献

Since the industrial revolution, the production, and consequently the emission of metals, has increased exponentially, overwhelming the natural cycles of metals in many ecosystems. Metals display a diverse array of physico-chemical properties such as essential versus non-essential and redox-active versus non-redox-active. In general, all metals can lead to toxicity and oxidative stress when taken up in excessive amounts, imposing a serious threat to the environment and human health. In order to cope with different kinds of metals, plants possess defense strategies in which glutathione (GSH; γ-glu-cys-gly) plays a central role as chelating agent, antioxidant and signaling component. Therefore, this review highlights the role of GSH in: (1) metal homeostasis; (2) antioxidative defense; and (3) signal transduction under metal stress. The diverse functions of GSH originate from the sulfhydryl group in cysteine, enabling GSH to chelate metals and participate in redox cycling. 相似文献

Interparticle forces govern slurry behavior in flow, mixing, sedimentation and thickening. This study evaluates the use of small anionic and cationic additives with pH to control the interparticle forces in kaolin slurry via the yield stress parameter. Both phosphate and citrate additives were found to reduce the interparticle attractive force or yield stress in the moderate pH region of 4–12. These relatively low charged additives were unable to impart a sufficiently strong repulsive interparticle force to completely disperse the slurry. Three linear relationships between yield stress and the square of zeta potential were observed in slurry with and without these additives, indicating that the yield stress–DLVO force model is obeyed in each linear region. The mid-range zeta potential region yielded a positive slope which was attributed to heterogeneous charge attraction between clay particles. It is this heterogeneous charge attraction that was weakened by the adsorbed additives. In contrast, cationic Polyethylenimine (PEI) of Mw 70,000 increases the yield stress at all pH level via bridging. Charge reversal was also observed at high PEI concentrations. In two cases, the pH of maximum yield stress and zero zeta potential coincided. A single linear yield stress–zeta potential squared relationship was observed despite particle bridging interaction being the dominant interparticle force. 相似文献

Over the past decade there has been increasing use of “paste” for backfilling of mined-out voids (“stopes”) in underground mines. Paste backfill is generated from full stream tailings and is almost always placed underground with cement. This paper presents field measurements and back analysis of two different cemented paste backfill (CPB) cases. Using the collected data and subsequent back analysis, the writers show that these two cases demonstrate considerably different consolidation behaviors, which in turn influence critical design and management aspects such as applied barricade stresses and choice of an appropriate curing technique for laboratory control specimens. The paper presents pore pressure and total stress monitoring data gathered from two different CPBs during the deposition process. Both filling cases are modeled using Minefill-2D, which is a finite-element (FE) model capable of fully coupling the time-dependent processes of fill accretion, consolidation, cement hydration, and stress arching. Input parameters for the model are obtained from independent laboratory tests. Comparison between measured values and those calculated based on laboratory measurements verifies that, in general, the model provides a good representation of the process. However, there are some significant difficulties relating to modeling a three-dimensional stope with a two-dimensional plane-strain FE program, and some ways of accounting for these difficulties are explored. The model is then used to extrapolate the measured results to investigate the influence of varying filling rate, cement content, and number of drawpoints on critical design aspects. 相似文献

Gout, a disease resulting from the effects of hyperuricemia and a crystal-induced arthropathy, may produce soft tissue masses (tophi) which mimick neoplasia clinically and radiographically. We have recently diagnosed three cases of gouty tophus, two of which were clinically suspected to represent sarcomas, by fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) after extensive radiologic and clinical evaluation. There were two women and one man. aged 71, 73, and 50 yr, with palpable soft tissue masses that involved the right forearm, right hand, and right foot, respectively, Biopsies were obtained by using 25-gauge needles without the aid of general anesthesia. Morphologically, aggregates and disassociated slender, needle-shaped crystals were abundant and easily recognized on both Diff-Quik and Papanicolaou stains. By using a polarizing microscope with a first-order red compensator, the crystals showed negative birefringence, characteristic of sodium urate. Benign-appearing histiocytes, foreign-body-type giant cells, neutrophils, and amorphous debris were scattered among the diagnostic crystals. The diagnosis of gouty tophus can be easily established with FNAB in conjunction with compensated polarizing microscopy. Application of FNAB in the initial evaluation of appropriate soft-tissue masses provides a cost-effective diagnostic method, preventing more costly and often unnecessary clinical and radiologic tests. 相似文献
