We investigate the performance degradation of basic modulation schemes in a rapidly time-varying channel using a first-order autoregressive channel model. Various performance metrics are used to indicate the relative advantages of each modulation scheme. We find that noncoherent frequency-shift keying (FSK) is suitable for operating at very high mobility and high signal-to-noise ratio, ideal for some military applications. We then propose a partially coherent detector for FSK and differential phase-shift keying that exploits partial channel knowledge to enable the receiver to operate effectively in both fast and slow fading. The maximum-likelihood rule obtained for the partially coherent FSK turns out to be a linear combination of coherent and noncoherent detection rules. Results demonstrate that significant performance improvement can be achieved over the best of coherent and noncoherent FSK detection. The detector is robust to estimation errors present in the channel statistics. We also propose a few adaptive schemes that employ various combinations of modulation schemes to increase the robustness of the system in fast fading  相似文献

The mixing and mass transfer characteristics of draft‐tube airlift bioreactors (DTAB) for a water‐in‐kerosene microemulsion, as a cold model of petroleum biodesulfurization, were studied. Incomplete gas disengagement at the top‐section of the DTAB and hence high gas recirculation were obtained with the microemulsion system for all the top‐section configurations employed in the present study especially at the high airflow rates. The ratio (S) of the volumes of the riser and the downcomer to the top‐section together with the gas disengagement abilities of the gas separator were both found to affect the mixing performance of the DTAB employed for the microemulsion system. Increase in the draft‐tube height resulted in significant increase in the mixing time (tm) and a slight increase in the overall volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient (kLa). Increase in the diameter of the top‐section and the height of the liquid above the draft‐tube led to a decrease in kLa, the latter effect being less prominent. New correlations were developed that predicted the mixing time and oxygen transfer coefficients obtained in the present work with reasonable accuracy. The aim of the present research was to evaluate the impact of coating layers on release profile from enteric coated dosage forms. Capsules were coated with Eudragit FS 30D using dipping method. The drug profile was evaluated in both phosphate buffer and Hank’s solutions. Utilization X-ray imaging, gastrointestinal transmission of enteric coated capsules was traced in rats. According to the results, no release of the drug was found at pH 1.2, and the extent of release drug in pH 6.8 medium was decreased by adding the coating layers. The results indicated single-layer coated capsules in phosphate buffer were significantly higher than that in Hank’s solution. However, no significant difference was observed from capsules with three coating layers in two different dissolution media. X-ray imaging showed that enteric coated capsules were intact in the stomach and in the small intestine, while disintegrated in the colon.  相似文献

An analysis technique to assess the viability of digital image correlation (DIC) in tracking the full‐field strains across the surface of hanging historic tapestries is presented. Measurement uncertainty related to the use of the inherent tapestry image in tracking displacements is investigated through use of “synthetic” deformation fields. The latter are generated by mapping the details of a given tapestry image into finite element analyses. The combination of self‐weight loading, material non‐linearity, and image specific heterogeneity (related to slit stitching, damage, and patch‐restorations) serve to generate a bespoke deformation field complex enough to assess the reliability of DIC measurements. Accuracy is evaluated by comparing measured results with the original known deformations. The technique demonstrates that the optimum imaging settings and the choice of subset size for DIC analysis are strongly influenced by the tapestry image and the goal of the measurement, they are found using a compromise between conflicting objectives: minimising measurement error while maximising resolution.  相似文献

This paper presents a nonlinear disturbance rejection–based controller for the robust output regulation of a triaxial microelectromechanical system (MEMS) vibratory gyroscope. In a MEMS gyroscope, parameter variations, mechanical couplings, suspension system nonlinearities, thermal noise, and centripetal/Coriolis forces are the main uncertainty sources. In the dynamical equations of the gyroscope, these uncertainties appear as a matched total disturbance, which does not coincide with the required structure of a standard output regulation problem. More specifically, the total disturbance is not guaranteed to belong to the solution space of a fixed dynamical system. Therefore, we propose a control system that comprises a nominal output regulator equipped with a disturbance rejection loop. On the basis of a suitable reference dynamics of the gyroscope, the control system is developed as the stabilization of a zero‐error invariant manifold in the tracking error space. In the disturbance rejection loop, a nonlinear extended state observer (ESO) is designed to estimate the total disturbance. The convergence of the ESO is analyzed in a Lyapunov‐Lurie framework by linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). In the nominal output regulation loop, the stabilization problem of the desired manifold is tackled by introducing a suitable distance coordinate. Next, to achieve guaranteed attenuation of the ESO estimation errors, an energy‐to‐peak design is pursued. On the basis of the center manifold theory, the stability of the overall closed‐loop system is guaranteed. The efficacy of the proposed control method is assessed through software simulations.  相似文献

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in wireless sensor networks because of their potential usage in a wide variety of applications such as remote environmental monitoring and target tracking. Target tracking is a typical and substantial application of wireless sensor networks. Generally, target tracking aims basically at estimating the location of the target while it is moving within an area of interest and consequently report it to the base station in a timely manner. However, achieving a high accuracy of tracking together with energy efficiency in target tracking algorithms is extremely challenging. In this article, we propose two algorithms to enhance the adaptive-head clustering algorithm, formerly lunched, namely, the improved adaptive-head and improved prediction-based adaptive head. Particularly, the first algorithm uses dynamic clustering to achieve impressive tracking quality and energy efficiency through optimally choosing the cluster head that participates in the tracking process. On the other hand, the second algorithm incorporates a prediction mechanism to the first proposed algorithm. Our proposed algorithms are simulated using Matlab considering various network conditions. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithms can accurately track a target, even when random moving speeds are considered and consume much less energy, when compared with the previous algorithm for target tracking, which in turn prolong the network lifetime much more.  相似文献

Efficient storage and handling of data stored in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network, proves vital for various applications such as query processing and data mining. This paper presents a distributed, scalable and robust layered overlay (L-overlay) to index and manage multidimensional data in a dynamic P2P network. The proposed method distinguishes between the data and peer layers, with efficient mapping between the two. The data is organized such that semantically similar data objects are accessed hastily. Grid and tree structures are proposed for the peer layer. As application examples of L-overlay in query processing and data mining, k-nearest neighbors query processing and distributed Naïve Bayes classification algorithms, are proposed. We show the effectiveness of our scheme in static and dynamic environments using simulation. L-overlay is shown to be more efficient than SSW, an available semantic overly, in terms of maintenance and query processing costs.  相似文献

This paper presents a 3rd-order two-path continuous-time time-interleaved (CTTI) delta-sigma modulator which is implemented in standard 90 nm CMOS technology. The architecture uses a novel method to resolve the delayless feedback path issue arising from the sharing of integrators between paths. By exploiting the concept of the time-interleaving techniques and through the use time domain equations, a conventional single path 3rd-order discrete-time (DT) ΔΣ modulator is converted into a corresponding two-path discrete-time time-interleaved (DTTI) counterpart. The equivalent CTTI version derived from the DTTI ΔΣ modulator by determining the DT loop filters and converting them to the equivalent continuous-time loop filters through the use of the Impulse Invariant Transformation. Sharing the integrators between two paths of the reported modulator makes it robust to path mismatch effects compared to the typical time-interleaved modulators which have individual integrators in all paths. The modulator achieves a dynamic range of 12 bits with an OverSampling Ratio of 16 over a bandwidth of 10 MHz and dissipates only 28 mW of power from a 1.8-V supply. The clock frequency of the modulator is 320 MHz but integrators, quantizers and DACs operate at 160 MHz.  相似文献

We deal with the reconstruction of surfaces that deform under a variety of conditions. The deformation can range from no extension to a certain degree of extensibility. The deformed surface is reconstructed from a single image, given a 3D reference shape. This shape corresponds to the undeformed state of the surface and can be computed using any appropriate technique. In particular, we use homographies defined from two views of the surface. To proceed with the 3D reconstruction of the deformed surface, we assume that the deformations are locally homogeneous and that the overall surface deformation can be obtained by combining the local homogeneous deformations. For this purpose, the surface is split into small patches. For each patch, a mapping between the undeformed and the deformed shapes is computed. The mapping is specified by using the quadratic deformation model Fayad et al. (Proceedings of British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC), 2004). As a result, given the undeformed shape, we define an optimization procedure whose goal is to estimate the 3D positions of deformed points in each image. The optimization is performed on each patch, independently of the others. The experimental results show that this approach allows precise reconstruction of a wide class of real deformations.  相似文献
