As a refractory gold mineral, pyrite needs to be oxidised prior to gold leaching. In this study, the effect of [Cl?] concentration (40.6–149.8?g/L), [Cu2+] concentration (0.8–31.6?g/L), pH (1.5–2.5) and temperature (25–90 –C) on the pyrite leaching rate was investigated. In addition, the open circuit potential (OCP) values of pyrite in cupric chloride solution were investigated. A linear regression model was constructed to predict pyrite dissolution rate i.e. corrosion current density. It was shown that the temperature had a significant positive effect on pyrite dissolution, while increased cupric ion concentration was also shown to provide some dissolution enhancement. According to the regression analysis, pH had no effect on the corrosion current density at OCP. Dissolution rates of pyrite varied between 0.05 and 2.9?µm/h. The activation energy values varied from 20 to 90?kJ/mol, indicated that the pyrite dissolution reaction rate was controlled by the chemical reaction or mixed mechanism rather than diffusion alone. The simultaneous increase in corrosion potential and corrosion current density indicated that the anodic pyrite dissolution reaction was rate determining at OCP.  相似文献

The paper deals with the tray-to-tray method for determining the required number of trays in columns with intensive entrainment of liquid when the operating line of the “dry working regime” is not straight and with a small concentration of diffusing component in gas. Presented calculations show that the number of transfer units for gas and liquid should be calculated using the AIChE method accompanied with longitudinal mixing according to Gilbert properly transformed for case of diffusion through stagnant film. The suggested method can be applied for TEG dehydration absorbers-columns for dehydration of natural gas using triethylene glycol with system factor SF = 0.5.  相似文献

Development of a reliable laboratory scale test for the design of industrial catalysts is crucial. In this article, different laboratory-scale tests were compared with an industrial scale CVOCs treatment. With dichloromethane (DCM) the laboratory scale test results corresponded well to the industrial scale oxidation results. However, the perchloroethylene (PCE) conversions measured in industry were always higher than what was achieved in the laboratory scale indicating that the industrial scale catalytic incinerator operating in transient conditions is highly beneficial in PCE oxidation. It was clearly shown that in order to design high-quality laboratory scale experiments, information on complete composition and total concentration of the emission is needed but also different types of catalytic tests need to be used depending on the industrial reactor. In addition, the catalysts’ performance in an industrial VOC abatement unit was examined as the oxidation efficiencies of DCM, PCE and other hydrocarbons (OHC) were compared after 3, 10 and 23 months of operation. After 23 months and 13,065 operating hours, no significant decrease in the activity of the catalysts was observed showing that the used noble metal catalysts are highly resistant towards these demanding conditions.  相似文献

To investigate the interplay between particle charging and hydrodynamics in fluidized beds, models for triboelectric charging and electrostatic forces were built into a computational fluid dynamics‐discrete element method model. Charge transfer was governed by the difference in effective work function between contacting materials as well as the electric field at the point of contact. Monodisperse particles were fluidized with an effective work function difference between the particles and the conducting walls. For smaller work function differences, hydrodynamics were not changed significantly as compared with an uncharged case. In these simulations, the average charge saturated at a value much lower than the value anticipated based on the work function difference, and a unimodal distribution of charges was observed. For larger work function differences, particles stuck to walls and bed height oscillations due to slugging were less pronounced. We have developed models to determine the radiative heat transfer of infrared dryers. Using the models, the efficiencies of several IR constructions are calculated. The radiation properties of all parts of the IR dryer are measured with an IT-IR spectrometer using integrating sphere techniques. With these models and measured results, the total efficiencies of several dryer constructions are calculated for: an electric dryer with a pambolic mirror, an elecmc dryer with a flat ceramic mirror, and a gas-fired dryer. The effect of a back reflector on these dryers is also calculated. The efficiencies of all these dryers are compared to each other.  相似文献

In this study, the effect of heat treatment on barrier and functionality of polyolefin-coated papers was investigated. The aim was to find the optimal improvements on barrier without losing the applicability of the materials due to physical damages. The results of the study proved considerable improvement in barrier characteristics of the structures. Both water vapor and oxygen transmission rates of LDPE-coatings decreased linearly following the set-temperature until 200°C. At this point, the treatment caused a continuing decrease in oxygen transmission achieving 10 × lower transmission levels than the untreated structure, whereas moisture transport faced corresponding but lower increase. This was considered to be caused by the difference in diameter of the H2O and O2 molecules; the smaller water molecules are able to penetrate between spherulites, whose size increased due to higher treatment temperature followed by cooling.  相似文献

Cellulosic films are typically sensitive towards moisture which limits their industrial applicability. In this study the films made from cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) were surface silylated with hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO) by roll-to-roll plasma deposition. The effects on surface hydrophobicity were clear and indisputable. Water contact angles of non-modified and plasma-deposited CNF films were 23° and 103°, respectively. As a result of surface silylation the relative polarity decreased from 46.8% to 0.6%. Surface hydrophobicity correlated well with the plasma deposition line speeds (0.5, 5, and 10 m/min) and the water vapor barrier properties. Silylation also decreased the oxygen transmission rates both at 50% and 80% relative humidity as compared to non-modified CNF films. All films were completely impermeable to olive oil and intact in contact with castor oil, toluene, and n-heptane or mixtures of them. The developed surface hydrophobization method can be exploited in strengthening the position of cellulosic films in high performance film applications.  相似文献

Antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) are promising alternatives to naked antibodies for selective drug‐delivery applications and treatment of diseases such as cancer. Construction of ADCs relies upon site‐selective, efficient and mild conjugation technologies. The choice of a chemical linker is especially important, as it affects the overall properties of the ADC. We envisioned that hydrophilic bifunctional chemical linkers based on carbohydrates would be a useful class of derivatization agents for the construction of linker–drug conjugates and ADCs. Herein we describe the synthesis of carbohydrate‐based derivatization agents, glycolinker–drug conjugates featuring the tubulin inhibitor monomethyl auristatin E and an ADC based on an anti‐EGFR antibody. In addition, an initial in vitro cytotoxicity evaluation of the individual components and the ADC is provided against EGFR‐positive cancer cells.  相似文献

In this study, the depth-averaged flow and energy equations for plate heat exchangers are presented. The equations are derived by integrating the original 3D flow and energy equations over the height of the gap between the bottom and top plates. This approach reduces the equations from 3D to 2D but still takes into account the frictions on the surfaces and heat transfer through the plates. The depth-averaging reduces the elapsed time of CFD simulations from hours to minutes. Thus, it is very practicable modelling method in real time design work. 2D CFD simulations with depth-averaged equations are compared with full 3D models for five different corrugation angles and corrugation lengths. The simulation results show that the 2D model predicts with relatively good accuracy the profile of the pressure drop and the temperature change as a function of the corrugation angle and the function of the corrugation length. In order to get more extensive information about the significance of the different geometry parameters on the efficiency of the heat exchanger, we simulated 30 different geometries with the fast 2D model. The results suggest that the temperature change is not as sensitive for the geometrical modifications as the pressure drop.  相似文献
