In this paper, we propose the weighted fusion, a new penalized regression and variable selection method for data with correlated variables. The weighted fusion can potentially incorporate information redundancy among correlated variables for estimation and variable selection. Weighted fusion is also useful when the number of predictors p is larger than the number of observations n. It allows the selection of more than n variables in a motivated way. Real data and simulation examples show that weighted fusion can improve variable selection and prediction accuracy.  相似文献

CoHub, a coherency hub ASIC, provides a cost-effective way to extend a glueless two-node chip-multithreading system to a four-node system without changes to the processor. The four-node, 256-thread system achieves near-linear scaling of performance with thread count on transaction-processing workloads. The inability to engage with systems risk during the development of integrated socio-technical systems presents a real threat to global and local socio-economic stability. Current theories on system risk engagement are driven by a functionalist orthodoxy. Accordingly, risk management is either non-existent, done in parallel to other development activity, or used by organisations as an instrument of control. Systems risk management needs to be addressed at the source of the problem: the systems engineering process. This paper addresses the predominant failure to appropriately engage with systems risk during development. It provides, with respect to the theoretical dimensions, a diversity of risk perspectives, complexity and socio-technical systems theory. A broad literature review on different risk concepts, risk management perspectives and organisational paradigms (functionalist, interpretive, radical humanist and radical structuralist) is also presented. In order to overcome a lack of a holistic and reflective risk management approach to systems development, this paper sketches an integrated soft systems methodology approach which can be used for engaging with systems risk during systems development.  相似文献

Integrating working and learning is seen as a desirable alternative to traditional training regimes. An integrated approach to working and learning is more gradual, contextual, problem oriented and cost effective. Knowledge technology aims to catalyze workplace learning, but requires the right organisational culture and brings additional costs regarding the articulation, representation and transmission of knowledge. Our approach reduces these costs by making articulation a natural part of collaborative working, designing for both informal and formal knowledge, and facilitating the transition of socially situated knowledge through enriched documents. To be successful, our approach has certain prequesites concerning organisational culture, and the nature of shared documents, organisational knowledge and work activities.  相似文献

A common computer-based collaborative learning approach is to simply introduce contemporary computermediated communication technology into the classroom to support prescribed learning activities. This approach assumes that all students collaborate in similar ways and that presentday technology is sufficient to accommodate all collaboration forms. This view is superficial and limiting. Students collaborate in different ways at different levels on different learning activities. A more detailed articulation of collaboration in learning is crucial to understanding and extending the pedagogical capabilities and usefulness of collaborative technologies. A model is presented for a more finely articulated form of analysis that enumerates types of collaborative learning activities and evaluates how these activities may be supported through different design options. The analysis is based on actual classroom scenarios and the collaboration requirements that emerge from them. The authors have successfully applied this analysis model in the design of a computer-based collaborative learning environment for science education.  相似文献

Simple feedforward ideas are shown to lead to a nearly tenfold increase in the effective bandwidth of a closed-loop piezoelectric positioning stage used in scanning probe microscopy. If the desired control signal is known in advance, the feedforward filter can be acausal: the information about the future can be used to make the output of the stage have almost no phase lag with respect to the input. This keeps in register the images assembled from right and left scans. We discuss the design constraints imposed by the need for the feedforward filter to work robustly under a variety of circumstances. Because the feedforward needs only to modify the input signal, it can be added to any piezoelectric stage, whether closed or open loop.  相似文献

We demonstrate that a near-field microwave microscope based on a transmission line resonator allows imaging in a substantially wide range of frequencies, so that the microscope properties approach those of a spatially resolved impedance analyzer. In the case of an electric probe, the broadband imaging can be used in a direct fashion to separate contributions from capacitive and resistive properties of a sample at length scales on the order of one micron. Using a microwave near-field microscope based on a transmission line resonator we imaged the local dielectric properties of a focused ion beam milled structure on a high-dielectric-constant Ba(0.6)Sr(0.4)TiO(3) thin film in the frequency range from 1.3 to 17.4 GHz. The electrostatic approximation breaks down already at frequencies above approximately 10 GHz for the probe geometry used, and a full-wave analysis is necessary to obtain qualitative information from the images.  相似文献
