The effect of grain size and density of hydroxyapatite particles, which were prepared by different spray-pyrolysis temperatures, on the sinterability of hydroxyapatite disk was investigated. Calcium phosphate solution (Ca/P ratio of 1.67 and 0.1 M concentration) was prepared by reacting calcium nitrate tetrahydrate and diammonium hydrogen phosphate solutions, and adding nitric acid. Spray-pyrolysis was carried out at 900 °C, 1200 °C, and 1500 °C at a carrier gas flowing rate of 10 L/min. The particles synthesized at 900 °C were large, hollow spheres with a hole at the outer surface, a broad size distribution, but had small grain sizes. Conversely, the particles synthesized at 1500 °C were small, solid spheres with a narrow size distribution, but had large grain sizes. The particles synthesized at 1200 °C had intermediate properties. A sinterability test conducted at 1100 °C for 1 h demonstrated that small and dense particles with large grain sizes showed a higher relative sintered density compared with large and hollow particles with small grain sizes. The results were explained in terms of the grain size and density of a particle, which were inversely and proportionally affected to sinterability. The practical implication of these results is that highly sinterable hydroxyapatite powders can be synthesized through spray-pyrolysis at a high temperature under a fixed initial concentration of calcium phosphate solution and flow rate of carrier gas.  相似文献

The welding process, due to its complexity, has relied on empirical and experimental data to determine its welding conditions. However, trial-and-error methods to determine optimal conditions incur considerable time and cost. In order to overcome these problems, a genetic algorithm and response surface methodology have been suggested for determining optimal welding conditions. First, in a relatively broad region, near-optimal conditions were determined through a genetic algorithm. Then, the optimal conditions for welding were determined over a relatively small region around these near-optimal conditions by using response surface methodology. In order to give different objective function values according to the positive or negative response from the set target value in the optimization problem, a desirability function approach was used. Application of the method proposed in this paper revealed a good result for finding the optimal welding conditions in the gas metal arc (GMA) welding process.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a 600‐V reverse conducting insulated gate bipolar transistor (RC‐IGBT) for soft and hard switching applications, such as general purpose inverters. The newly developed RC‐IGBT uses the deep reactive‐ion etching trench technology without the thin wafer process technology. Therefore, a freewheeling diode (FWD) is monolithically integrated in an IGBT chip. The proposed RC‐IGBT operates as an IGBT in forward conducting mode and as an FWD in reverse conducting mode. Also, to avoid the destructive failure of the gate oxide under the surge current and abnormal conditions, a protective Zener diode is successfully integrated in the gate electrode without compromising the operation performance of the IGBT.  相似文献

Ion conducting polymer electrolyte, poly(N-methyl 4-vinylpyridine iodide) (PVPI) is synthesized for dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) application. A new solid polymer electrolyte composite containing low viscosity ionic liquid (IL) 1-ethyl 3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide (EMImDCN) doped PVPI is developed and its structural, electrical and photoelectrochemical studies are presented in detail. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, proton NMR and atomic force microscopy (AFM) affirms the modified polymer and its composite nature with porous surface morphology. The developed solid polymer electrolyte shows enhancement in ionic conductivity (σ) due to IL doping. The maximum σ value of 9.12 × 10?6 S cm?1 was obtained at 40 wt% IL concentration. The redox behavior of the electrolyte has been verified by the cyclic voltammetry studies. For device application, we have fabricated a DSSC using this solid polymer–IL electrolyte system which shows energy conversion efficiency of the solid-state cell as 0.65% under irradiation of simulated sunlight (AM 1.5, 100 mW cm?2).  相似文献

A 6.0 kb genomic DNA segment was isolated by its ability to rescue the temperature-sensitive growth defect and the hypersensitivity to sodium deoxycholate of a spontaneous vanadate-resistant mutant derived from Hansenula polymorpha DL-1. The genomic fragment contains four open reading frames homologous to the Saccharomyces cerevisiae genes YPT1 (which codes for a GTP-binding protein; 75% amino acid identity), PMI40 (encoding phosphomannose isomerase; 61% identity), YLR065c (30% identity) and CST13 (28% identity). The H. polymorpha YPT1 homologue (HpYPT1) was found to be responsible for the complementation of the temperature-sensitive phenotype and the sodium deoxycholate sensitivity of the mutant strain. Disruption of the H. polymorpha PMI40 homologue (HpPMI40) resulted in the auxotrophic requirement for D-mannose. The heterologous expressions of HpYPT1 and HpPMI40 were able to complement the temperature-sensitive phenotype of S. cerevisiae ypt1-1 mutant and the mannose auxotrophy of S. cerevisiae pmi40 null mutant, respectively, indicating that the H. polymorpha genes encode the functional homologues of S. cerevisiae YPT1 and PMI40 proteins. Self-assembly phenomenon of hydroxyapatite (HAp) nanocrystals on chondroitin sulfate (ChS) templates was investigated. A HAp/ChS hybrid was synthesized through a precipitation method with a calcium hydroxide suspension and phosphoric acid solution containing the ChS. The preferential alignment of the crystallographic c-axis of the HAp crystals parallel to the long axis direction of the ChS templates was observed to occur with the chemical interactions between the HAp crystals and the functional groups of the ChS. This phenomenon was interpreted by the crystallochemical specific nucleation and growth of the HAp crystals regulated by the pre-organized functional groups of the ChS template. Practical implication may involve a biomimetic artificial bone or cartilage can be made through a precipitation method with suitable bio-organics.  相似文献

In this letter, we studied the effects of post-deposition anneal (PDA) time and Si interface control layer (ICL) on the electrical characteristics of the MOS capacitor with high-/spl kappa/ (HfO/sub 2/) material on GaAs. Thin equivalent oxide thickness (EOT<3 nm) with excellent capacitance-voltage (C-V) characteristics has been obtained. The thickness of the Si ICL and PDA time were correlated with C-V characteristics. It was found that high temperature Si ICL deposition and longer PDA time at 600/spl deg/C improved the C-V shape, leakage current, and especially frequency dispersion (<5%).  相似文献

Mammalian tissues express three immunologically distinct peroxiredoxin (Prx) proteins (Prx I, II, and III), which are the products of distinct genes. With the use of recombinant proteins Prx I, II, and III, all have now been shown to possess peroxidase activity and to rely on Trx as a source of reducing equivalents for the reduction of H2O2. Prx I and II are cytosolic proteins, whereas Prx III is localized in mitochondria. Transient overexpression of Prx I or II in cultured cells showed that they were able to eliminate the intracellular H2O2 generated in response to growth factors. Moreover, the activation of nuclear factor kappaB (NFkappaB) induced by extracellularly added H2O2 or tumor necrosis factor-alpha was blocked by overproduction of Prx II. These results suggest that, together with glutathione peroxidase and catalase, Prx enzymes likely play an important role in eliminating peroxides generated during metabolism. In addition, Prx I and II might participate in the signaling cascades of growth factors and tumor necrosis factor-alpha by regulating the intracellular concentration of H2O2.  相似文献
