Although feature-based computer-aided process planning plays a vital role in automating and integrating design and manufacturing for efficient production, its off-line properties prohibit the shop floor controllers from rapidly coping with unexpected production errors. The objective of the paper is to suggest a neural network-based dynamic planning model, by which the shop floor controllers determine cutting parameters in real-time based on shop floor status. At off-line is the dynamic planning model constructed as a neural network form, and then embedded into each removal feature. The dynamic planning model will be executed by the shop floor controllers to determine the cutting parameters. A prototype system is constructed to validate whether the dynamic planning model is capable of determining dynamically and efficiently the cutting parameters for a particular set of shop operating factors. Owing to the dynamic planning model, the shop floor controller will increase flexibility and robustness by rapidly and adaptively determining the cutting parameters in unexpected errors occurring.  相似文献

We develop a hybrid state-space fuzzy model-based controller with dual-rate sampling for digital control of chaotic systems. A Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model is used to model the chaotic dynamic system and the extended parallel-distributed compensation technique is proposed and formulated for designing the fuzzy model-based controller under stability conditions. The optimal regional-pole assignment technique is also adopted in the design of the local feedback controllers for the multiple TS linear state-space models. The proposed design procedure is as follows: an equivalent fast-rate discrete-time state-space model of the continuous-time system is first constructed by using fuzzy inference systems. To obtain the continuous-time optimal state-feedback gains, the constructed discrete-time fuzzy system is then converted into a continuous-time system. The developed optimal continuous-time control law is finally converted into an equivalent slow-rate digital control law using the proposed intelligent digital redesign method. The main contribution of the paper is the development of a systematic and effective framework for fuzzy model-based controller design with dual-rate sampling for digital control of complex such as chaotic systems. The effectiveness and the feasibility of the proposed controller design method is demonstrated through numerical simulations on the chaotic Chua circuit  相似文献

This paper addresses sensor fault detection and isolation problems for continuous- and discrete-time linear time-invariant systems. To that end, we employ a bank consisting of the same number of observers as there are sensors. Both the observer gain and the residual gain are considered. Unlike earlier work, the design conditions with H ?/H performance are derived in terms of linear, rather than nonlinear, matrix inequalities. An illustrative example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.  相似文献

The sales activity of most parts manufacturing companies is based on orders of buyers. The process of promotion, receipt and selection of orders of the parts manufacturers is closely coupled with the load status of the production lines. On deciding whether to accept an order or not, as well as negotiating with buyers, sales persons need information such as load and schedule of production lines, and manufacturability of the order. Manufacturability analysis, process planning, and scheduling are therefore key features in developing an agent of sales activity for the parts manufacturing business. In this paper, an intelligent agent, a virtual manufacturing-based sales agent (VMSA) with multi-agent architecture is proposed to support the sales activity for the parts manufacturers in the Internet environment. A VMSA has an integrated architecture of agent and virtual manufacturing. The prototype of VMSA has been developed for a machine parts manufacturing company that has lathe machines, drilling machines, cutting machines, and milling machines.  相似文献

Microactuators for micromirror system have found many applications in various areas including projection displays, optical switches, RF switches and so on. In this paper we demonstrated micromirror actuator using ionic polymer metal composites (IPMC) that is a suitable candidate, since it has many attractive qualities such as durability, aquatic, miniature and light-weighted. Specially, IPMC has extraordinary advantages which are simple bending motion for low driving voltage (1–2 V), low power consumption, and simple structure. The IPMC actuator is made of Nafion NE-1110 (Dupont Co, Ltd., 260 µm thick) layer and electrode (platinum) layers and driven by 1–4 V. The displacement measured vertically is 0.25 mm and tilting angle is 11.3°. The angular motion, which is more than 10°, is a good advantage in the field of display module. This paper shows that the IPMC actuator has enough possibility for other applications.  相似文献

A general and efficient design approach using a radial basis function (RBF) neural classifier to cope with small training sets of high dimension, which is a problem frequently encountered in face recognition, is presented. In order to avoid overfitting and reduce the computational burden, face features are first extracted by the principal component analysis (PCA) method. Then, the resulting features are further processed by the Fisher's linear discriminant (FLD) technique to acquire lower-dimensional discriminant patterns. A novel paradigm is proposed whereby data information is encapsulated in determining the structure and initial parameters of the RBF neural classifier before learning takes place. A hybrid learning algorithm is used to train the RBF neural networks so that the dimension of the search space is drastically reduced in the gradient paradigm. Simulation results conducted on the ORL database show that the system achieves excellent performance both in terms of error rates of classification and learning efficiency.  相似文献

For most small manufacturing companies, the selection and completion of orders placed by buyers are closely linked to the load status of their production lines. The decision to accept an order, or the selection of optimal order set, critically depends on the production schedule when orders exceed production capacity. However, production scheduling is mainly performed by human experts, and small companies lack resources to implement such a task. As a result, most small manufacturers suffer from the difficulty to meet due dates or to make proper decision in accepting new orders. To address this problem, this paper develops an automatic agent that selects an optimal set of orders using commonly available Internet technology. The main engine of the selection agent is based on a typical job shop scheduling model, formulating and implementing it as an Integer Program (IP) model. We also translate IP into Genetic Algorithm (GA) to address its NP-hard problem. We conclude with a suggestion for an agent architecture that tackles Web-based order selection problems.  相似文献

In financial distress analysis, the diagnosis of firms at risk for bankruptcy is crucial in preparing to hedge against any financial damage the at-risk firms stand to inflict. Some pre-alarm signals that indicate a potential financial crisis exist when a firm faces a default risk. Early studies on corporate bankruptcy prediction include parametric and nonparametric approaches, such as artificial intelligence (AI), for detecting pre-alarm signals. Among nonparametric techniques, the methods involving support vector machine (SVM) have shown potential in predicting corporate bankruptcy. We propose a hybrid method that combines data depths and nonlinear SVM for the prediction of corporate bankruptcy. We employed data depth functions to condense multivariate financial data with nonlinear and non-normal characteristics into one-dimensional space. The SVM method was introduced to classify the data points on a depth versus depth plot (DD-plot). Based on data set that records failed and non-failed manufacturing firms in Korea over 10 years, the empirical results demonstrated that the proposed method offers a higher level of accuracy in corporate bankruptcy prediction than existing methods. The proposed method is expected to provide a guidance in corporate investing for investors or other interested parties.  相似文献

Immersive virtual environments (IVEs) produce simulations that mimic unmediated sensory experiences. 3 experiments (N = 228) tested how different modalities increase environmental involvement by allowing users to inhabit the body of animals in IVEs or watch the experience on video. Embodying sensory‐rich experiences of animals in IVEs led to greater feeling of embodiment, perception of being present in the virtual world, and interconnection between the self and nature compared to video. Heightened interconnection with nature elicited greater perceptions of imminence of the environmental risk and involvement with nature, which persisted for 1 week. Although the effect sizes were small to moderate, findings suggest that embodied experiences in IVEs may be an effective tool to promote involvement with environmental issues.  相似文献
