A new and novel electrically conducting ‘polymeric-inorganic’ composite cation-exchange material; polyaniline Sn(IV) tungstoarsenate was prepared by incorporating polyaniline into inorganic ion-exchanger material. It possessed improved ion-exchange capacity, high chemical and thermal stabilities, reproducibility and selectivity for some specific metal ions. Kinetic study of exchange for some divalent metal ions of alkaline earths and transition metals was carried out under the conditions favoring a particle diffusion-controlled ion-exchange phenomenon and some physical parameters such as self diffusion coefficient D0, energy of activation Ea and entropy of activation ΔS* were determined. The temperature dependence of electrical conductivity of this composite material with increasing temperatures was measured by using 4-in-line-probe DC electrical conductivity measuring-technique. The conductivity values lie in the semiconductor region, i.e. in the range of 10−3 S cm−1 that follow the Arrhenius equation. The energy of activation of electrical conduction for the composite was also calculated.  相似文献

To study the association of Helicobacter pylori with peptic ulcer and the associated histopathological changes, to characterize the isolated strains in terms of their protein profile, 83 peptic ulcer cases were studied. A high association of H pylori with peptic ulcer (duodenal ulcer 77%, gastric ulcer 75%) and gastritis (74%) was observed. Age and smoking did not have any relationship with H pylori infection. The infection was predominantly associated with the 'quiescent' form of chronic gastritis. Comparative sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of whole cell extracts of the local isolates and a reference strain from Australia showed a general homogeneity between the strains with obvious interstrain differences. However, the difference between the local isolates and the reference strain was more marked. Significant association of H. pylori with peptic ulcer along with strain variations were observed.  相似文献

Negative bias temperature instability (NBTI) has become one of the major causes for reliability degradation of nanoscale circuits. In this letter, we propose a simple analytical model to predict the delay degradation of a wide class of digital logic gate based on both worst case and activity dependent threshold voltage change under NBTI. We show that by knowing the threshold voltage degradation of a single transistor due to NBTI, one can predict the performance degradation of a circuit with a reasonable degree of accuracy. We find that digital circuits are much less sensitive (approximately 9.2% performance degradation in ten years for 70 nm technology) to NBTI degradation than previously anticipated.  相似文献

The study examines health behavior, perceptions, practices, and decision making using data from the 1995 Health and Demographic Survey conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics. Knowledge about causes of diarrhea and food contamination were higher than knowledge about causes of nightblindness and worm infestation but this knowledge is inadequate. The household's economic condition and the respondent's education were found to be positively associated with disease knowledge and food contamination; the same is also true for health behavior and practices. Sub-national variation in disease knowledge and food contamination exists but did not correspond always with the health behavior and practices. Decisions regarding treatment of disease were made by the husband and wife together in two-thirds of the cases, however, it was not uniform across socio-demographic and sub-national categories.  相似文献

High spin polarization materials or spin filters are key components in spintronics, a niche subfield of electronics where carrier spins play a functional role. Carrier transmission through these materials is “spin selective,” that is, these materials are able to discriminate between “up” and “down” spins. Common spin filters include transition metal ferromagnets and their alloys, with typical spin selectivity (or, polarization) of ≈50% or less. Here carrier transport is considered in an archetypical one‐dimensional molecular hybrid in which a single wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) is wrapped around by single stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (ssDNA). By magnetoresistance measurements it is shown that this system can act as a spin filter with maximum spin polarization approaching ≈74% at low temperatures, significantly larger than transition metals under comparable conditions. Inversion asymmetric helicoidal potential of the charged ssDNA backbone induces a Rashba spin‐orbit interaction in the SWCNT channel and polarizes carrier spins. The results are consistent with recent theoretical work that predicted spin dependent conductance in ssDNA‐SWCNT hybrid. Ability to generate highly spin polarized carriers using molecular functionalization can lead to magnet‐less and contact‐less spintronic devices in the future. This can eliminate the conductivity mismatch problem and open new directions for research in organic spintronics.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Conventional solar heat-driven single stage two bed chillers demand a large area for installation of solar thermal collector to activate the chiller, but in a highly populated tropical country open spaces is insufficient. In the intention to utilize accessible solar energy with better performance, a mathematical investigation is carried out with a three bed adsorption cooling unit working with silica gel-water pair. The studied chiller is powered by direct solar heat collected by a series of compound parabolic concentrator solar thermal collectors without any heat or mass recovery. The working principal of the chiller is, in principle, the same as the conventional two-bed adsorption chiller. However, instead of two half cycles, there are three one third cycles in the proposed chiller in which at every cycle the former desorber is kept in the precooling mode and as an adsorber for the next two one third cycles, respectively. As desorption kinetic is faster than the adsorption kinetics, this longer precooling mode helps the silica gel granules to adsorb more water molecules and increase evaporation rate. Hence, a better cooling effect of at least 1°C can be observed, increases chiller working hour after sunset for almost a further one hour.  相似文献

This study investigates the performance of an adsorption chiller driven by thermal heat collected from solar collectors’ panels with heat storage. The heat is reserved in a storage tank and the reserved heat is used to drive the adsorption chiller. The investigation was carried on the climatic conditions of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Heat transfer fluid goes from the collectors to the adsorption cooling unit, then from the adsorption cooling unit to the storage tank. It is seen that heat storage is more effective than direct solar coupling; however, it requires more collectors, depending on the size of the storage tank. The analysis shows that cycle time is one of the most influential parameters for the solar-driven adsorption cooling system. It is seen that the size of the collector can be reduced if the proper cycle time is adjusted. The analysis also revealed that the system with 22 collectors (each of 2.415 m2) along with 1000 s cycle time provides better performance for the base run conditions. It is also seen that the solar-driven adsorption chiller with heat storage works well beyond the sunset time.  相似文献

The influence of iron species on amoxicillin (AMX) degradation, intermediate products generated and toxicity during the photo-Fenton process using a solar simulator were evaluated in this work. The AMX degradation was favored in the presence of the potassium ferrioxalate complex (FeOx) when compared to FeSO4. Total oxidation of AMX in the presence of FeOx was obtained after 5 min, while 15 min were necessary using FeSO4. The results obtained with Daphnia magna biossays showed that the toxicity decreased from 65 to 5% after 90 min of irradiation in the presence of FeSO4. However, it increased again to a maximum of 100% after 150 min, what indicates the generation of more toxic intermediates than AMX, reaching 45% after 240 min. However, using FeOx, the inhibition of mobility varied between 100 and 70% during treatment, probably due to the presence of oxalate, which is toxic to the neonates. After 240 min, between 73 and 81% TOC removal was observed. Different pathways of AMX degradation were suggested including the opening of the four-membered β-lactamic ring and further oxidations of the methyl group to aldehyde and/or hydroxylation of the benzoic ring, generating other intermediates after bound cleavage between different atoms and further oxidation to carboxylates such acetate, oxalate and propionate, besides the generation of nitrate and ammonium.  相似文献

In recent studies on two-dimensional supersonic jets, it is reported that the hysteresis phenomenon for the reflection type of shock waves in the jet flow field is occurred under the quasi-steady flow condition and this phenomenon is affected by the transitional pressure ratio between the regular reflection and Mach reflection. However, so far, there are few researches on the hysteresis phenomenon for the transition of shock waves between regular and Mach reflection in over-expanded supersonic jets and the phenomenon has not been investigated satisfactorily. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to clarify the hysteresis phenomena for the reflection type of shock wave in the over-expanded axi-symmetric supersonic jet experimentally, and to discuss the relationship between hysteresis phenomenon and rate of the change of pressure ratio with time. Furthermore, the effect of Mach number at the nozzle exit on hysteresis loop was investigated for two kinds of nozzle.  相似文献
