This paper presents a low power analog front-end for heart-rate detector at a supply voltage of 0.5 V in 0.18 μm CMOS technology. A fully differential preamplifier is designed with a low power consumption of 300 nW. A 150 nW fourth order Switched-opamp switched capacitor bandpass filter is designed with passband 8–32 Hz. To digitize the analog signal, a low power second-order ΣΔ ADC is designed. The dynamic range and SNR of the converter are 46 dB and 54 dB respectively and it consumes a power of 125 nW. The overall front-end system including preamplifier, SO-SC bandpass filter, ΣΔ modulator and the biasing circuits are integrated and the total system consumes a power of 0.975 μW from 0.5 V supply.  相似文献

Lake Erie supported the greatest yield of lake sturgeon within the Laurentian Great Lakes near the end of the 19th century with >2000 metric tons caught at the peak of the fishery. The fishery collapsed by the 1920s when <1% of the previous peak catch was removed. Despite closures of the fishery, lake sturgeon remain rare in Lake Erie. We applied a depletion-based stock reduction analysis (DB-SRA) to the catch of lake sturgeon from 1879 to 1929 to gain estimates of sustainable fishery reference points and the historic carrying capacity of Lake Erie for lake sturgeon. We also simulated population growth of lake sturgeon from 1929 to the present with varying assumptions of the current carrying capacity of the lake. The estimated historic carrying capacity of lake sturgeon was 22,652 metric tons. During the height of the fishery, exploitation was as high as 37% which was more than an order of magnitude greater than that required for maximum sustainable yield. Projections of the population from 1929 to 2016 suggest sufficient time has passed since the collapse of the fishery that the population should have recovered to levels that would support a fishery at maximum sustainable yield. However, lake sturgeon remain rare in Lake Erie indicating that other factors such as habitat availability may be limiting their recovery. Our estimates of carrying capacity will be informative when setting recovery targets which consider the amount of habitat loss.  相似文献

Environmental stress hinders growth of plants and commonly results in the accumulation of carbon-based defense compounds. However, the dynamics of nitrogen (N)-containing defense compounds are less predictable under environmental stress. The impact of nutrient deficiency on plant defenses that require the metabolic conversion of a less toxic compound to a more potent toxin is even more poorly understood. We evaluated the effects of nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) deficiency and simulated herbivory on the concentration of metabolites including glucosinolates (GSLs), on the conversion of GSLs to more toxic isothiocyanates (ITCs), and on the activity of myrosinase (MYR) in leaves of Brassica juncea and Brassica nigra. Both species contained GSLs, predominantly sinigrin, but also derivatives of glucobrassicin. Compared to the control, N deficiency increased the sinigrin concentration in both species. Methyl jasmonate (MeJA) application increased sinigrin production in B. junceae, whereas in B. nigra MeJA increased sinigrin only under K-deficiency. Compared to the aliphatic-glucosinolates, MeJA application produced a greater compositional change in the profiles of indolic-glucosinolates. In both species the increase in sinigrin content of the tissue was associated with a decrease in its overall nutritive value as assessed by the content of sugars and amino acids. In B. juncea, application of MeJA decreased the conversion of sinigrin to allyl isothiocyanate (AITC) under both N and K deficiency. The potential activity of MYR decreased in both species under N deficiency. The reduced conversion of sinigrin to AITC and the lower activity of MYR suggest that the GSL-ITC defense system might have a limited efficiency in deterring generalist herbivores under environmental stress.  相似文献

This paper focuses on a spectrum of workshops developed by the authors, collectively referred to as Scrapyard Challenges. These workshops ask participants to create a computationally designed object within a fixed time frame using cast-off materials and junk. Depending on the focus on the workshop, participants develop musical controllers, fashion-oriented wearables, or street interventions. Though operating in diverse application domains, each workshop introduces a “third place” where creative appropriation of materials and playful experimentation is the primary reward. The end results have been remarkable, with both the novice and advanced participant producing highly creative prototypes. Each variation of the workshop and selected results are shared and detailed. Future work, as well as the implications of this approach within a singular workshop setting and a classroom is discussed. The Scrapyard Challenge workshops have been deployed in six different countries and have contributed to curriculum development for a graduate-level class which utilizes the workshop principles at the MSc. To move packets among the vehicles mobility pattern of vehicles in a vehicular network performs an imperative factor for creating competent routing protocol. To reproduce the movement features of vehicles in VANET is the main purpose of the mobility model. Manhattan mobility model is conversed by a lot of researchers. Merely very limited research study is prepared on highway and freeway mobility models. In this document Cluster scheme, different routing protocols are used to the freeway mobility based vehicular architecture. The Ns2.34 simulation effect illustrates the effort of cluster scheme over different protocols and standard 802.11p. The competence of the routing protocols in the vehicular communication by means of freeway movement pattern is estimated by different network parameters.  相似文献

We consider secure multi-party computation (MPC) in a setting where the adversary can separately corrupt not only the parties (nodes) but also the communication channels (edges), and can furthermore choose selectively and adaptively which edges or nodes to corrupt. Note that if an adversary corrupts an edge, even if the two nodes that share that edge are honest, the adversary can control the link and thus deliver wrong messages to both players. We consider this question in the information-theoretic setting, and require security against a computationally unbounded adversary.In a fully connected network the above question is simple (and we also provide an answer that is optimal up to a constant factor). What makes the problem more challenging is to consider the case of sparse networks. Partially connected networks are far more realistic than fully connected networks, which led Garay and Ostrovsky [Eurocrypt’08] to formulate the notion of (unconditional) almost everywhere (a.e.) secure computation in the node-corruption model, i.e., a model in which not all pairs of nodes are connected by secure channels and the adversary can corrupt some of the nodes (but not the edges). In such a setting, MPC among all honest nodes cannot be guaranteed due to the possible poor connectivity of some honest nodes with other honest nodes, and hence some of them must be “given up” and left out of the computation. The number of such nodes is a function of the underlying communication graph and the adversarial set of nodes.In this work we introduce the notion of almost-everywhere secure computation with edge corruptions, which is exactly the same problem as described above, except that we additionally allow the adversary to completely control some of the communication channels between two correct nodes—i.e., to “corrupt” edges in the network. While it is easy to see that an a.e. secure computation protocol for the original node-corruption model is also an a.e. secure computation protocol tolerating edge corruptions (albeit for a reduced fraction of edge corruptions with respect to the bound for node corruptions), no polynomial-time protocol is known in the case where a constant fraction of the edges can be corrupted (i.e., the maximum that can be tolerated) and the degree of the network is sublinear.We make progress on this front, by constructing graphs of degree O(n ? ) (for arbitrary constant 0<?<1) on which we can run a.e. secure computation protocols tolerating a constant fraction of adversarial edges. The number of given-up nodes in our construction is μn (for some constant 0<μ<1 that depends on the fraction of corrupted edges), which is also asymptotically optimal.  相似文献

Topological properties of the kinematics map are exploited to develop a novel method for redundancy parameterization and extremely fast inverse kinematics solutions for 7-DOF anthropomorphic manipulators and animation characters. The method consists of generating joint angles vectors (configurations) and determining their associated hand position/orientation (pose) via the known forward kinematics. The generated data are classified into various inverse kinematics solutions manifolds. These manifolds are subsequently segmented so that the redundancy can be parameterized and the solutions can be represented by simple equations whose parameters are stored for rapid online computation. During the online phase, given the desired hand pose, the appropriate stored parameters are retrieved and various inverse kinematics solutions are computed. The online time to provide various solutions is of the order of several microseconds, which allow real-time inverse kinematics evaluations for fast moving animation characters or manipulators.  相似文献

A neutronics feasibility study has been performed to determine the enrichment that would be required to convert a commercial Miniature Neutron Source Reactor (MNSR) from HEU (90.2%) to LEU (<20%) fuel. Two LEU cores with uranium oxide fuel pins of different dimensions were studied. The one has the same dimensions as the current HEU fuel while the other has the dimensions as the special MNSR, the In-Hospital Neutron Irradiator (INHI), which is a variant of the MNSR. The LEU cores that were studied are of identical core configuration as the current HEU core, except for potential changes in the design of the fuel pins. The following reactor core physics parameters were computed for the two LEU fuel options; clean cold core excess reactivity (ρex), control rod (CR) worth, shut down margin (SDM), neutron flux distributions in the irradiation channels and kinetics data (i.e. effective delayed neutron fraction, βeff and prompt neutron lifetime, lf). Results obtained are compared with current HEU core and indicate that it would be feasible to use any of the LEU options for the conversion of NIRR-1 in particular from HEU to LEU.  相似文献

Sodium alginate coated polyamide thin film composite (SA/PA-TFC) membranes were synthesized for the desalination of brackish water through reverse osmosis. Membranes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, AFM, thermogravimetry, and universal testing machine for structural analysis, crystallinity, morphological, compositional, thermal, and mechanical properties, respectively. The effect of feed pressure on water flux and % salt rejection was quantified. Simulation results generated using the commercial process simulator PRO/II were in good agreement with the experimental data. Case studies using simulator were performed for brackish water with different salinity to optimize operating pressure based on product unit cost (PUC) by varying the feed pressure and membrane area. The calculated PUCs were found to be 0.9 and 0.3 $/m3 for corresponding feed total dissolved solids (TDS) concentrations of 5000 and 500 mg/L at an optimum pressure of 10 bar, to achieve a salt rejection of 98% using a membrane area of 335 m2. We believe these membranes are a prospective solution for brackish water desalination.  相似文献
