Method for automatic checking of components with any curvilinear profile

Conclusions Above we have dealt with a method for testing (plotting) profiles described by any curves. This method is based on the combination of a kinematic method for reproducing cycloidal curves by means of the simplest three-bar motion and programming which sets a definite variable ratio of the angular velocities of two links of this mechanism, thus providing the reproduction of any required curve.     

Development of a method for selecting technical ceramics for protection against abrasive erosion

The paper deals with the solution of a topical problem of selecting protective ceramic materials to improve the service life of parts of gas-and-oil and other equipment that experience abrasive erosion. The available theoretical and experimental methods of specifying protective materials are analyzed. The author discusses the potential of the energy concept of the abrasive erosion process and uses this concept together with system approach methodology to propose new numerical characteristics. The possibility of determining these characteristics for ceramic materials by the calculation-experimental method involving a developed technique and device is shown. The availability of adequate numerical characteristics of the abrasive-containing flow and the ceramic material forms the basis for selecting a ceramic material using the criterion of its minimal wear intensity in the contaminated flow of a working fluid.     

A low-frequency high-power arbitrary-shape voltage pulse generator

A circuit diagram and design of the arbitrary-shape bipolar voltage pulse generator with amplitudes up to 800 V and a peak output on a matched load of 400 kW are described. The generator is based on car rechargeable batteries and power insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs). Results of the experiments aimed at producing high-power harmonic signals with frequencies of 50 Hz and 1 kHz are presented.
