This paper reviews the latest developments of diode-pumped Ti,Er:LiNbO3 waveguide lasers emitting at wavelengths around 1.5 μm. In particular, harmonically mode-locked lasers, Q-switched lasers, distributed Bragg reflector (DBR)-lasers, and self-frequency doubling lasers are discussed in detail. Supermode stabilized mode-locked lasers have been realized using a coupled cavity concept; a side mode suppression ratio of 55 dB has been achieved at 10-GHz pulse repetition rate with almost transform limited pulses. Q-switched lasers with a high extinction ratio (>25 dB) intracavity electrooptic switch emitted pulses with a peak power level up to 2.5 kW and a pulsewidth down to 2.1 ns at 1-kHz repetition frequency. Numerical simulations for both lasers are in a good, almost quantitative agreement with experimental results. A DBR-laser of narrow linewidth (≈3 GHz) with a permanent (fixed) photorefractive grating and 5 mW output power has been realized. Self frequency doubling lasers have been fabricated with a periodic microdomain structure inside an Er-doped laser cavity; simultaneous emission at the fundamental wavelength, 1531 nm, and at the second harmonic wavelength, 765 nm, has been obtained  相似文献

In this paper, we use the Edge-based Droplet GEneration (EDGE) emulsification method to produce food-grade emulsions (including double emulsions) and foams. This newly developed mild technology proved to be very stable and robust in the production of all these products. The products are made with food-grade components in an up-scaled micro device, which does not show any changes in time in wettability and fouling. The size of the droplets and bubbles is as needed for food stuffs. Air bubbles generated with EDGE were much larger than emulsion droplets, which could be explained through the viscosity ratio of the phases and changes in interfacial free energy caused by dynamic interfacial tension effects. In the outlook section of this paper, the obtained results are related to the dimensions of the devices, which are in a practically feasible range, also due to the simplicity of the EDGE structure and its operation. Preliminary estimations show that a 300L system can produce 1 m/h 4% (v/v) emulsion.  相似文献

We demonstrate that the catalyst Perkalite F100 efficiently works as a nanocatalyst in the depolymerization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET). After depolymerization of PET in the presence of ethylene glycol and the Perkalite nanocatalyst, the main product obtained was bis(2‐hydroxylethyl) terephthalate (BHET) with high purity, as confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and NMR. The BHET monomers could serve directly as starting materials in a further polymerization into PET with a virgin quality and contribute to a solution for the disposal of PET polymers. Compared with the direct glycolysis of PET, the addition of a predegradation step was shown to reduce the reaction time needed to reach the depolymerization equilibrium. The addition of the predegradation step also allowed lower reaction temperatures. Therefore, the strategy to include a predegradation step before depolymerization is suitable for increasing the efficiency of the glycolysis reaction of PET into BHET monomers. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Water is used intensively by various sectors such as agriculture, industry, and the public. Increasing global water demand and the effects of climate change are leading to overuse of water resources in many regions. One strategy to meet these challenges is to implement an integrated industrial water management, e.g., by water reuse or the use of alternative water resources. Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains a significant burden on society. In the search for new AD drugs, modulators of α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptors (AMPARs) are of particular interest, as loss of synaptic AMPARs has been linked to AD learning and memory deficits. Previously reported fluorine-containing BPAM121, an AMPA positive allosteric modulator (pam) with high activity, low toxicity, and slow metabolism, was considered to be a perfect 18F-labeled candidate for positron emission tomography (PET) AD diagnostic investigations. For the preclinical use of this compound, an automated synthesis avoiding human radiation exposure was developed. The detailed production of [18F]BPAM121 in relatively high quantity using a commercial FASTlab synthesizer from GE Healthcare coupled with a full set of quality controls is presented, along with procedures for the synthesis of the tosylated precursor and the fluorinated reference. To evaluate the clinical usefulness of [18F]BPAM121 as a potential AD diagnostic, some in vivo studies in mice were then realized, alongside blocking and competition studies.  相似文献
