Photoredox pairs consisting of 1,4‐naphthoquinone dyes and commercially available hydrogen donors (2‐mercaptobenzoxazole, 2‐mercaptobenzothiazole, 2‐mercaptobenzimidazole and 2,5‐dimercapto‐1,3,4‐thiadiazole) are found to be effective initiator systems for the radical polymerisation of trimethylolpropane triacrylate under visible light. The efficiency of these initiator systems is discussed in terms of the free energy change for the electron transfer process from the dye to the hydrogen donor. The results show that the photoinitiation ability of tested photoredox pairs depends on the structure of both the dye and the hydrogen donor.  相似文献

The article describes technology of the low‐temperature co‐fired ceramics (LTCC) structure that enables light absorbance measurements of liquid sample. The manufactured ceramic structure contains buried microfluidic channels. The structure consists of two co‐fired glass windows that separate the light source and detector from the test solution. A construction of an electronic measurement system is described as well. The signal from three light‐emitting diodes (LED)s — red, green, and blue — can be used in the absorbance measurements. The light intensity is measured by the TCS 3414CS (TAOS, Plano, TX) color detector. Optical properties of the fabricated microfluidic LTCC system is investigated with several concentrations of potassium permanganate (KMnO4) in water solution. The system can be applied in microbiology for constant monitoring of bacterial growth.  相似文献

Degradation in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) is a complex problem. Depending upon the materials and the device architectures used, the degradation mechanism can be very different. In this Progress Report, using examples in both small molecule and polymer OLEDs, the different degradation mechanisms in two types of devices are examined. Some of the extrinsic and intrinsic degradation mechanisms in OLEDs are reviewed, and recent work on degradation studies of both small‐molecule and polymer OLEDs is presented. For small‐molecule OLEDs, the operational degradation of exemplary fluorescent devices is dominated by chemical transformations in the vicinity of the recombination zone. The accumulation of degradation products results in coupled phenomena of luminance‐efficiency loss and operating‐voltage rise. For polymer OLEDs, it is shown how the charge‐transport and injection properties affect the device lifetime. Further, it is shown how the charge balance is controlled by interlayers at the anode contact, and their effects on the device lifetime are discussed.  相似文献

We have demonstrated a possibility to design light modulator based on Kerr effect using borate La2CaB10O19 (LCBO) nanocrystallites incorporated into two different polymer-dispersed liquid crystal composites (PDLC). For this reason we have used different amount of the LCBO nanocrystallites to find the optimal conditions for the Kerr modulators. It was established that for the both PDLC systems the borate nanocrystals may be used for effective operation by elecrooptical susceptibilities varying the content of the nanocrystals. At the same time the frequency shift of the Kerr coefficient seems to be sensitive only for the LCBO nanocrystals content about 5% by weight. The maximal value of the Kerr coefficients were varied within the 4 × 10−9 to 6 × 10−10 m V−2.  相似文献

The analysis of an adaptive rate convolutionally coded multicarrier direct sequence code division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) system is considered. In order to accommodate a number of coding rates easily and make the encoder and decoder structure simple, we use the rate-compatible punctured convolutional (RCPC) code. We obtain data throughputs at several coding rates, and choose the coding rate that has the highest data throughput in the signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) sense. To achieve maximum data throughput, a rate adaptive system is proposed based on the channel state information (the SINR estimate). The SINR estimate is obtained by the soft decision Viterbi decoding metric. We show that the proposed rate adaptive convolutionally coded multicarrier DS/CDMA system can enhance the spectral efficiency and provide frequency diversity  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new frequency synchronization algorithm for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems requiring only one training symbol, based on a conventional method which requires two training symbols. While the timing synchronization is obtained by using the conventional method, the carrier frequency offset is efficiently estimated by the proposed method. It is shown that the proposed method not only reduces the number of the training symbols but also possesses better performance than the conventional method without increase in complexity  相似文献

The presented research is focused on an investigation of the effect of the addition of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to a gelatin-based hydrogel on the functional properties of the resulting material. The main purpose was to experimentally determine and compare the properties of hydrogels differing from the content of PVA in the blend. Subsequently, the utility of these matrices for the production of an immobilized invertase preparation with improved operational stability was examined. We also propose a useful computational tool to predict the properties of the final material depending on the proportions of both components in order to design the feature range of the hydrogel blend desired for a strictly specified immobilization system (of enzyme/carrier type). Based on experimental research, it was found that an increase in the PVA content in gelatin hydrogels contributes to obtaining materials with a visibly higher packaging density, degree of swelling, and water absorption capacity. In the case of hydrolytic degradation and compressive strength, the opposite tendency was observed. The functionality studies of gelatin and gelatin/PVA hydrogels for enzyme immobilization indicate the very promising potential of invertase entrapped in a gelatin/PVA hydrogel matrix as a stable biocatalyst for industrial use. The molecular modeling analysis performed in this work provides qualitative information about the tendencies of the macroscopic parameters observed with the increase in the PVA and insight into the chemical nature of these dependencies.  相似文献

The superabsorbent poly(AM-SAS-AA)s were synthesized to improve the water absorption capacities in comparison with the poly(AM-SAS) by an aqueous solution polymerization method from acrylamide (AM), sodium allylsulfonate (SAS), and acrylic acid (AA). The reaction conditions were controlled by varying the AA concentrations and fixing other agent concentrations to obtain the optimal superabsorbent poly(AM-SAS-AA). The poly(AM-SAS-AA) showed maximal absorption capacity at 0.3 mol/L among AA concentrations from 0.053mol/L to 0.4 mol/L. The water absorption capacities of poly(AM-SAS-AA)s prepared at the optimal reaction condition were measured within the temperature ranges from 298.15K to 318.15K. Those experimental data were used to describe the effect factors on absorption capacities and swelling equilibria data among those data were correlated with the swelling models to estimate the interchange energy parameters. Each swelling models combined with group contribution models (UNIFAC, ASOG) was introduced to calculate the swelling equilibria of water(1)/poly(AM-SAS-AA)(2) systems. The swelling behaviors could be described by the estimated parameters, and the calculated values agreed well with the experimental data.  相似文献

Fusarium species are common plant pathogens that cause several important diseases. They produce a wide range of secondary metabolites, among which mycotoxins and extracellular cell wall-degrading enzymes (CWDEs) contribute to weakening and invading the host plant successfully. Two species of Fusarium isolated from peas were monitored for their expression profile of three cell wall-degrading enzyme coding genes upon culturing with extracts from resistant (Sokolik) and susceptible (Santana) pea cultivars. The extracts from Santana induced a sudden increase in the gene expression, whereas Sokolik elicited a reduced expression. The coherent observation was that the biochemical profile of the host plant plays a major role in regulating the fungal gene expression. In order to uncover the fungal characteristics in planta, both pea cultivars were infected with two strains each of F. proliferatum and F. oxysporum on the 30th day of growth. The enzyme activity assays from both roots and rhizosphere indicated that more enzymes were used for degrading the cell wall of the resistant host compared to the susceptible host. The most commonly produced enzymes were cellulase, β-glucosidase, xylanase, pectinase and lipase, where the pathogen selectively degraded the components of both the primary and secondary cell walls. The levels of beauvericin accumulated in the infected roots of both cultivars were also monitored. There was a difference between the levels of beauvericin accumulated in both the cultivars, where the susceptible cultivar had more beauvericin than the resistant one, showing that the plants susceptible to the pathogen were also susceptible to the toxin accumulation.  相似文献
