We argue that practical endeavours towards mobilising and recreating knowledge is an integral part of value increasing activities, and expose how this dependency can be utilised in ameliorating practice. This bridging of knowledge and value creation constitutes organisational activities as knowing. The paper exposes the efforts of Telenor, a large telecom firm, to create an enduring agenda for non‐financial issues in management. We expose the development process and initial use of their new Integrated Management Business Model. This involves identifying financial and non‐financial drivers of future performance within and across several business units, as well as negotiating on appropriate indicators of both status and change. The paper pays special attention to the iterative approach to development in order to highlight a shift from an attempt to enable knowledge in autonomous processes secluded from everyday activities, towards an understanding of knowledge and knowing as intrinsic to the value creating activities performed. By entering the issue of intangibles through the knowing activity perspective, it was evident that the purpose of the management system was not to determine the status of intangibles in the corporation, it was to improve it. 相似文献

Summary Ethylene and propylene were copolymerized in n-heptane in the presence of high activity heterogeneous Ziegler-Natta catalyst to study the effect of the cocatalyst on the microstructure and molecular weight of the copolymer. Seven aluminium alkyls of structure Al((CH2)nCH3)3, where n = 0—3, 5, 7 or 11, and one of structure Al(C(CH3)3)3, were used as cocatalysts. The effect of the Al/Ti mole ratio was also studied. Modern molecular modelling techniques were used to calculate the volume of the cocatalyst and the electron density around aluminium. The size of the cocatalyst molecule was found to have a marked effect on the activity of the catalyst: the smaller the cocatalyst the higher the activity. Higher electron density around aluminium increased the randomness of the copolymer. 相似文献

We discuss the problem of designing a telecommunication network with the survivability requirement that the network should be composed of connected rings of links. The network design problem is then to choose links from a given network, and compose them into a number of rings. Furthermore, the rings should be connected at certain transit nodes. The traffic between rings may pass through other rings. Each ring is associated with a certain fixed cost depending on the length of the ring. In this paper two highly effective, flexible and distortionless peak power reduction schemes for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (ofdm) with low amount of additional complexity and almost vanishing redundancy are presented. The schemes work with arbitrary numbers of subcarriers and signal sets. The first approach generates a set of several alternative multicarrier signals and selects that transmit signal with the lowest peak power value. The second method optimally combines partial transmit sequences to minimize the peak-to-average power ratio (PAR-coefficient). For many technical and architectural applications of electrochromic glazings a thorough understanding of the heat transport and the optical and thermal radiative properties of the system is essential. Furthermore, the thermal expansion and eventually the induced stresses within the laminated system are of interest. To meet these demands the solar absorptance of the electrochromic glazings at different tinted states were measured using an UV–VIS-NIR spectrometer. The thermal expansion coefficients of the glass materials were determined by a push-rod dilatometer. Then the instationary coupled conductive and radiative heat transfer due to solar irradiation were calculated for various pane configurations by finite element analysis. Starting from the resulting instationary temperature fields, the stress and strain states within the laminated glazing system were calculated. 相似文献

Businesses in knowledge intensive industries must appropriately engage with their customers in order to produce goods and services that are desired and valued in the marketplace. Engagement with customers calls for exchanging information and knowledge with customers and fostering exchanges between customers. Recent developments in the area of information and communication technologies (ICTs) have radically increased the variety of opportunities for improving customer engagement. In this paper, we will examine the use of ICTs to build Business Customer Communities (BCCs) to help an organization foster knowledge exchanges between its professional and institutional customers. We define BCCs as groups of business customers, which are deliberately enabled by a firm and share a long-term need to exchange work related knowledge through online and offline interaction. The objectives of this study are (1) to describe BCCs and outline their attributes and features, and (2) to contribute to the understanding of challenges associated with the enabling of BCC formation and how firms can overcome these challenges.
