Surface modification of diamond-like carbon (DLC) film was performed using a hyperthermal atomic fluorine beam on the purpose of production of hydrophobic surface by maintaining the high hardness of DLC film. By the irradiation of atomic fluorine beam of a 1.0 × 1020 atoms/cm2, the contact angle of a water drop against the DLC surface increased from 73° to 111°. The formation of CF3, CF2 and CF bonding on the modified DLC surface was confirmed from the measurements of X-ray photoelectron spectra and near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure spectra. Irradiation of hyperthermal atomic fluorine beam was concluded to produce insulator fluorine-terminated DLC film, which has high F content on the surface, by the taking of the use of neutral atomic beam as a fluorine source. 相似文献

Laboratory tests and design reliability are directly controlled by sample quality. The frozen sampling (FS) method is useful for dynamic strength and deformation tests of undisturbed clean sand. However, it is very expensive and requires considerable equipment. The sample quality of Toyoura sands obtained from 48 mm and 75 mm samplers are scrutinized based on void ratio, dynamic strength and deformation properties through model and cyclic undrained triaxial tests. A conventional method for estimating in-situ dynamic strength and deformation properties of sand samples utilizing density changes is examined and the applicability of the proposed method is discussed for the samples obtained from Niigata sand deposits.The main conclusions obtained from this study are summarized as follows:(1) A conventional method for estimating in-situ void ratio (e0), Dr, stress ratio (RL20) in a 20 cyclic time frame and the initial modulus of rigidity (G0) of sand samples utilizing density changes is proposed.(2) The in-situ RL20 and G0 estimated from the proposed method for sand samples from tube samplers were similar to those of frozen sampling and the in-situ modulus of initial rigidity was calculated from the secondary wave velocity for Niigata sand deposits.Therefore, dynamic strength and deformation properties changes, caused by sampling, can be modified appropriately to an in-situ condition by this proposed method. 相似文献

Narrow gap welding with an oscillation laser beam is one of the effective processes for thick plate welding. To put this welding process into practical manufacturing, a groove-sensing system using image processing for narrow gap welding with an oscillation laser beam is used. This developed system uses still images of the weld zone taken by a coaxial CMOS camera. It can recognize the position of the groove wall by analysing the brightness distribution in the still image. It can then control the oscillation width and the laser-irradiated area by calculating the groove width and the groove centre position. Some narrow gap welding experiments were performed to evaluate the performance of the developed system. The results revealed that the developed system is effective for narrow gap welding with an oscillation laser beam. Using this system, the narrow gap groove can be welded even if the groove width has changed during the welding process. 相似文献

The generalized scaling law is based on the concept of two-stage scaling and allows currently available centrifuge facilities to model a large-scale prototype expanding over the spatial dimension ranging from 30 m or larger subject to earthquake motions. This paper presents the results of investigation on the applicability of the generalized scaling law to the fully nonlinear regime of soil-structure system with the induced strain level of 10% in the order of magnitude. The centrifuge model tests performed in this study under the modeling of models scheme consist of a pile model embedded in a inclined ground subject to liquefaction-induced lateral spreading. Four different centrifugal accelerations ranging from 13g to 50g are used whereas the actual size of the physical model is kept constant with an overall scaling factor of 1/100. The models are exposed to tapered sinusoidal input accelerations of frequency 0.59 Hz and amplitude 3.0 m/s2 in prototype scale, and the results are compared in terms of prototype by applying the generalized scaling law. As for the response of the ground during shaking, essentially identical accelerations and excess pore water pressures are recorded for all cases, while the lateral displacement shows a variation ranging from 5% to 9% in terms of shear strain due to a slight variation in experimental conditions (e.g., input peak acceleration, achieved density distribution). Practically the same responses are measured among the cases in the dissipation phase of excess pore water pressure. With regard to pile behavior, nearly identical responses for the lateral displacements and bending moments are obtained for all cases both during and after shaking. These results demonstrated that the generalized scaling law is applicable to the fully nonlinear regime of soil-structure system subject to the cumulative shear strain in the order of 10% due to cyclic mobility of sands during earthquakes. 相似文献

Thermal decomposition and the burning properties of BAMO based propellants with HMX or AN/HMX have been investigated. The heat generated by the azide binder decomposition initiated and accelerated the thermal decomposition of HMX and AN. Ammonium perchlorate (AP) and lead stearate with carbon black significantly altered the mechanisms of the thermal decomposition and the burning properties of the HMX based propellants. AP showed an increase in burning rate with a slight decrease in burning rate pressure exponent. The lead catalyst yielded high value of the burning rate with the lowest pressure exponent. The ammonium dichromate also influenced the mechanisms of the thermal decomposition and the burning properties of the AN/HMX samples. The combination of ammonium dichromate and copper chromite was the most effective on the burning rate augmentation of AN/HMX based propellants. AN sublimed and evaporated from the condensed phase and mainly reacted exothermically in the gas phase HMX and AN/HMX based propellants showed smokeless burning characteristics in the small rocket motor combustion tests. 相似文献

ABSTRACT In the event of a severe accident, past experiences such as Three Mile Island and Fukushima Daichi have shown that the reactor core of a light-water nuclear reactor, if not properly safeguarded, could go through a meltdown. This will be followed by the formation of a corium, a mix of molten fuel elements, and liquid metals from the Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV). In the worst-case scenario, a melt through from the RPV can occur and lead to the spreading of the corium, in the form of a molten element’s jet impinging on a flat concrete structure of the Primary Containment Vessel (PCV). To enhance the decommissioning and the safety procedure, scope of the present article is to deepen the understanding of the phenomena involved in the mentioned scenario, mainly jet-instability and molten material spreading. The effects of fatty acid, monoacylglycerol, and polyglycerol fatty acid ester with varying chain length in their acyl chains on the extent of complex formation (complex index) and in vitro enzymatic digestibility of gelatinized potato starch were investigated. The complex index increased with increase in the concentration of the ligands (fatty acid, monoacylglycerol, and polyglycerol fatty acid ester), with the plateau in the complex index value depending on the type of ligands. In comparison of complex index among fatty acid-samples, the complex index maximum increased as the chain length increased up to octanoic acid and then decreased. In comparison of complex index among fatty acid-, monoacylglycerol-, and polyglycerol fatty acid ester-samples at each acyl chain, the complex index maximum followed the order polyglycerol fatty acid ester > monoacylglycerol > fatty acid. Fatty acid, monoacylglycerol, and polyglycerol fatty acid ester with long acyl chains greatly reduced the enzymatic hydrolysis of starch. Polyglycerol fatty acid ester with palmitic acid chains was the strongest inhibitor of starch hydrolysis, suggesting that further complex formation may occur during the hydrolysis of gelatinized starch (enzyme-annealing). 相似文献
