Nanostructured diamond have potential applications in many biomedical related fields and demonstrated extraordinary capacity to influence cellular responses. Studying the surface property of nanodiamond and its influence to protein adsorption and subsequent cellular responses along with the mechanism behind such capacity becomes more important. Here the role of surface energy associated with nanostructured diamond in modulating fibronectin and osteoblast(OB, bone forming cells) responses was investigated. Nanocrystalline diamond(NCD) and submicron crystalline diamond(SMCD) films with controllable surface energy were prepared by microwave-enhanced plasma chemical vapor deposition(MPCVD) techniques. Fibronectin adsorption on the diamond films with varied surface energy values was measured via the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and the relationship between the surface energy and fibronectin adsorption was studied. The result indicated that fibronectin adsorption on nanostructured surfaces was closely related to both surface energy and material microstructures. The spreading and migration of OB aggregates(each containing 30–50 cells) on the NCD with varied surface energy values were also studied. The result indicates a correlation between the cell spreading and migration on nanodiamond and the surface energy of nanostructured surface.  相似文献

Carbon fiber reinforced composites have attracted lots of attention in many fields. However, on account of the poor infiltration of resin to carbon fiber, the weak interface performance between fiber and resin has been restricting the interface properties of composites. In recent progress, the review attaches more importance to the introduction of the third phase monomer, which mainly uses physical and chemical methods to assemble nanomaterials (such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, etc.) on the carbon fiber surface to modify the interface structure of the carbon fiber reinforced composites, and all of them have been demonstrated in this paper. Furthermore, the effects of introducing nanomaterials on the structure of the fiber/resin interface and the relationship between multi-scale interface structure and properties have been investigated. It can be seen that the design idea of researchers mainly uses one or more theories to improve the interface properties of carbon fiber reinforced composites, such as transition layer, chemical bonding, mechanical interlocking, infiltration, diffusion, and adsorption. In brief, this work provides some novel insights for the preparation of carbon fiber reinforced composites with excellent interlaminar shear strength.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Occupational skin changes in hairdressers are very common. Morbidity, however, has not yet been quantified precisely. METHODS: A cohort of 2,352 hairdressing apprentices (of the 2,570 invited to participate, i.e., 91.5% response) was prospectively followed for the duration of their vocational training (3 years) by three examinations. Three waves (years) were recruited in 1992, 1993, and 1994 from 15 vocational training schools in northwestern Germany. RESULTS: The point prevalence of (mostly slight) irritant skin changes of the hands increased from 35.4% in the initial examination to 47.5% in the intermediate examination and to 55.1% in the final examination. Given a more conservative definition of a case of "hand dermatitis," these estimates were 12.9%, 23.5%, and 23.9%, respectively. Altogether, 34.3 and 15.2 cases of "skin changes (any degree)" and "hand dermatitis," respectively, in 100 person-years were observed during the study period. The incidence rate, i.e., the number of newly diseased study participants in relation to the person-time at risk contributed, decreased in the course of the study. The proportion of dropouts until final follow-up was 51.8%. CONCLUSION: The present results appear to lie in a range with those found in other, much smaller cohort studies. However, comparison of the results is hampered either by the lack of a clear definition or by a different definition of "person-time at risk" or "a case of hand dermatitis." As compared with an external control group of office apprentices, the incidence was several times higher in hairdressing apprentices, which points to the high risk for skin damage in this occupation.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The clinical benefit of coronary stenting is reduced by the risk of thrombotic stent occlusion as well as hemorrhagic complications of intensive antithrombotic therapy. We compared the influence of different antithrombotic therapies on the incidence of post-interventional complications and in-hospital stay duration. METHODS: After successful placement of a coronary stent, 334 consecutive patients were given different antithrombotic treatments in addition to aspirin 100 mg/d indefinitely: (1) phenprocoumon for 3 months (n = 47), (2) low molecular weight heparin 2 x 100 U/kg/d s.c. for 4 weeks (n = 90), (3) ticlopidine 2 x 250 mg/d and low molecular weight heparin 2 x 100 U/kg/d s.c. for 4 weeks (n = 72) and (4) ticlopidine 2 x 250 mg/d for 4 weeks (n = 125). RESULTS: Major events were subacute stent thrombosis in 17 patients (5%), and severe hemorrhagic complication in 20 patients (5.9%). The incidence of subacute stent thrombosis in groups 1 to 4 was 10.6%, 11%, 1.4% and 0.8% respectively. The use of ticlopidine was associated with a significant lowering of stent occlusions in univariate and multivariate analysis (p = 0.0013). Additional uni- and multivariate predictors were stent placement as a "bail-out" procedure (p = 0.033) and in patients with acute coronary syndrome (p = 0.049). Anticoagulant therapy was associated with a higher incidence of severe hemorrhagic complications (p < 0.01) and a prolonged in-hospital stay (p = 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: These results confirm that anti-thrombotic therapy with aspirin and ticlopidine combines low rates of subacute stent occlusion and hemorrhagic complications. Treatment with phenprocoumon and low molecular weight heparin does not improve the rate of subacute stent occlusion but increases hemorrhagic complications. Very low rates of stent occlusion permit short in-hospital stays with concomitant reduction in cost.  相似文献

Combining a non-comparative with a comparative evaluation, two modern programs for fostering inductive reasoning, namely the German version of the "Cognitive training for children" by Klauer and Phye (1994; Klauer 1989), and the "DenkMit" by Sydow and Meincke (1994), are compared to each other and to a control program which intends to enhance aspects of memory instead of inductive reasoning. The programs were performed with N = 49 children between six and eight years who had been postponed from regular school because of various reasons or who had been selected as especially in need for particular interventions from first classes. Besides the psychometric test often used for assessing inductive reasoning, i.e. three subtests of the German form of the Culture Fair Test by Cattell (Weiss a. Osterland 1980), tasks of concept formation were applied for assessing changes in strategic behavior of children--a type of task which has been used in connection with inductive reasoning since many years. Counter to expectations, the children whose memory was trained, showed changes in performance in the psychometric test in a similar size as the children whose inductive reasoning was trained. These effects are interpreted in terms of special attention directed to the children during the intervention situation. Moreover, it was found that despite the authors claim to the opposite the DenkMit did not cause any changes in visual perception. In contrast to the author's intentions, the "Cognitive Training for Children" did cause some substantive changes in the area of visual perception. The pattern of results with the concept formation tasks, however, overall indicates that the reasoning programs caused some changes in strategic behaviors of the children. Although these changes are not very impressive, they cannot be attributed to extraneous factors such as special attention.  相似文献

We present a new finishing process that is capable of locally shaping and polishing optical surfaces of complex shapes. A fluid jet system is used to guide a premixed slurry at pressures less than 6 bars to the optical surface. We used a slurry comprising water and 10% #800 SiC abrasives (21.8 mum) to reduce the surface roughness of a BK7 sample from 350 to 25 nm rms and to vary the shape of a polished sample BK7, maintaining its surface roughness of 1.6 nm rms, thereby proving both the shaping and polishing possibilities of the presented method.  相似文献

An efficient system for retroreflective grating generation andanalysis has been constructed to measure the derivative and the contourof specular surfaces. In this system, a new optical configurationhas been provided to generate and capture a grating image with aretroreflective screen.
