Effect of total gamma-irradiation on the rate of steroid hormone hydroxylation by rat liver microsomes

gamma-irradiation in doses of over 600 r proved to decrease the rate of androgen hydroxylation significantly; the rate of hydroxylation of the estrogens under study altered but little. Under the mentioned irradiation conditions the content of cytochrome P-450 in rat hepatic microsomes diminished. A reduction of the hydroxylation rate of steroid hormones by rat hepatic microsomes under the effect of total gamma-irradiation apparently depended on the qualitative changes of cytochrome P-450.

Piezoelectric Properties of TlIn1−x Nd x Se2 Crystals

The piezoelectric properties of TlIn_1–x Nd _x Se₂ crystals (0 x 0.05) have been investigated. It has been found that these crystals possess high coefficients of tensosensitivity which change on partial substitution of the indium atoms by neodymiun atoms and strongly depend on the intensity of the spectral composition of optical illumination.     

The controllable variband structures in a ferroelectric semiconductor

The possibility of formation of the variband structure in a ferroelectric semiconductor is pointed out. The energy scheme of such variband structure depends on temperature electric bias, light intensity and possesses hysteresis.     

Influence of the gap in clutches on the dynamic properties of drives

The influence of the gap in clutches on the dynamic properties of drives is investigated, by simulation. The maximum impact torque is determined as a function of the gap, the clutch damping, the frequency and amplitude of the oscillations in the driving torque, the drag torque of the machine tool, and the ratio of the moments of inertia of the drive components preceding and following the clutch.
