The potential of NMR spectroscopy to differentiate honeys concerning to the nectar employed in its production was evaluated. The application of chemometric methods to 1H NMR spectra has allowed to discriminate the honeys produced in the state of São Paulo, being identified the signals of responsible substances for the discrimination. Application of PCA and HCA methods to 1H NMR data have resulted in the natural clustering of the samples. Wildflower honeys were characterized by higher concentration of phenylalanine and tyrosine. Citrus honeys showed higher amounts of sucrose than other compounds, while eucalyptus honeys had higher amount of lactic acid than the others. Assa-peixe honeys showed spectra similar to eucalyptus and citrus. Sugar-cane honeys showed some signals similar to eucalyptus and citrus honeys, but also showed the tyrosine and phenylalanine signals. Adulterated honeys showed 5-hydroxymethylfurfural, citric acid and ethanol signals. KNN, SIMCA and PLS-DA methods were used to build predictive models for honey classification. In the commercial honeys prediction KNN, SIMCA and PLS-DA models correctly classified 66.7; 22.2 and 72.2% of the samples, respectively. 相似文献

This paper reports a discrimination study based on the physico‐chemical characteristics, fatty acids and profile of volatile compounds of the seeds from seven date palm varieties (Phoenix dactylifera L.) grown in Tunisia. Date seeds contained 10.49–14.76% moisture; 6.28–11.2% fat (on a dry weight basis); 2.67–12.85% protein; 0.91–6.06% reducing sugar; 0.61–2.98% sucrose and 0.97–1.17% ash. Gas liquid chromatography revealed that the oil fraction of the date palm seeds contained eighteen fatty acids, with oleic acid (30.77–42.50%) and lauric acid (18.51–27.48%) as the main unsaturated and saturated ones. Volatile profile showed differences among varieties. In total, forty‐five compounds were identified, mainly alcohols, aldehydes and unsaturated hydrocarbons ones. This study provides evidence that the seeds of date may be a potential source of valuable nutrients with interesting functionality. 相似文献

In this research, we propose a new method and instrument to measure load-extension curve of the fabric samples under all-directional extension. Using this method, fabric sample is loaded under extension in the warp, weft, and all other directions in between. Using this new method, we introduced a comprehensive tensile modulus which is affected by the fabric structures and densities. For this purpose different structures i.e. plain, Twill 2/2, Twill 1/3, and Twill 1/7 were produced with different densities. Then these samples were tested under the new method. Our results are then compared to those one would obtain under uniaxial tests, by performing independent uniaxial tests. It is shown that under all-directional test lowering the weft density decreases the tensile comprehensive modulus. Furthermore, a reduction in the floating yarns in the fabric structure decreases the tensile comprehensive modulus. It was found that among the samples tested here, plain fabric and Twill 1/7, respectively, possess the maximum and minimum comprehensive modulus. Piperine is the natural bioactive component of black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) with several astounding therapeutic properties. In this study, sequential microwave-ultrasound-assisted extraction approach was used for isolation of piperine from black pepper. The effect of various factors such as extraction solvent, particle size of pepper, solvent to solid ratio, microwave power and time and ultrasound temperature and time on the extraction yield of piperine was considered. The maximum extraction yield was 46.6 mg piperine/g pepper which was obtained using ethanol as solvent at the particle size of 0.15 mm, solvent to solid ratio of 20:1, microwave power of 100 W for 1 min, and ultrasound temperature of 50 ° C for 30 min. This extraction yield was higher than those obtained by Soxhlet (39.1 mg/g), microwave-assisted (38.8 mg/g) and ultrasound-assisted (37.0 mg/g) extractions. The purity of the extracted piperine was 81.4% as determined by HPLC analysis. The FTIR and UV-vis analyses confirmed that the structure of piperine remained intact after extraction and purification which is very important for medicinal applications. 相似文献

The antibacterial activity of Mentha spicata and Mentha aquatica essential oils (EO) was tested against Staphylococcus aureus, Lactobacillus reuteri, Bifidobacterium animalis and Clostridium perfringens using agar well and disc diffusion techniques. Results showed that M. spicata EO had the highest inhibition activity against the studied microorganisms. Then, the antibacterial activity of both EO at 1500 and 2500 ppm was examined in industrial liquid kashk during the storage at 4 °C for 20 days. Both EO reduced the S. aureus viable count below 5 log CFU g?1 after 4 days; however, the population of C. perfringens, L. reuteri and B. animalis decreased <1 log CFU g?1 during the storage time. The least deteriorative effect on the lactic acid bacteria was related to M. aquatica. As revealed by organoleptic studies, kashk samples containing M. aquatica EO at 1500 and 2500 ppm were the most preferred samples. 相似文献

Mints (Mentha species) are widely used as food, medicine, spice, and flavoring agents. At the present work, phenolics profile of infusion and ethanol extract of Mentha longifolia was determined using an RP–HPLC–DAD system. Total bioactive contents, radical scavenging, reducing power, metal chelating, and enzyme inhibitory activities relevant to Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes mellitus, and skin disorders were evaluated. Sixteen phenolic compounds (ten phenolic acids and six flavonoids) were identified in the extracts in which sinapic acid (7132 µg/g extract) and rosmarinic acid (6260 µg/g extract) were the most abundant compounds. Strong antioxidant effects were observed in 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical, 2,2?-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid), cupric ion reducing activity, ferric reducing antioxidant power, phosphomolybdenum, and metal chelating assays. Results indicated selective acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity and high α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibitory potential. Findings showed that M. longifolia has promising health benefits due to its high concentration of useful phenolic compounds and has great potential for possible applications in the preparation of functional ingredients. 相似文献
