Severe bioprosthetic mitral valve calcification is a significant problem in cardiovascular surgery. Unfortunately, clinical markers did not demonstrate efficacy in prediction of severe bioprosthetic mitral valve calcification. Here, we examined whether a genomics-based approach is efficient in predicting the risk of severe bioprosthetic mitral valve calcification. A total of 124 consecutive Russian patients who underwent mitral valve replacement surgery were recruited. We investigated the associations of the inherited variation in innate immunity, lipid metabolism and calcium metabolism genes with severe bioprosthetic mitral valve calcification. Genotyping was conducted utilizing the TaqMan assay. Eight gene polymorphisms were significantly associated with severe bioprosthetic mitral valve calcification and were therefore included into stepwise logistic regression which identified male gender, the T/T genotype of the rs3775073 polymorphism within the TLR6 gene, the C/T genotype of the rs2229238 polymorphism within the IL6R gene, and the A/A genotype of the rs10455872 polymorphism within the LPA gene as independent predictors of severe bioprosthetic mitral valve calcification. The developed genomics-based model had fair predictive value with area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of 0.73. In conclusion, our genomics-based approach is efficient for the prediction of severe bioprosthetic mitral valve calcification.  相似文献

The process of selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides by propane in the presence of O2, as well as in the presence or absence of CO, was studied over series of commercial oxide catalysts used in petrochemical processes. For the first time synergistic effect was observed for catalytic systems consisting of mechanical mixtures of Cu–Zn–Ni–Al (catalyst I) + Fe–Cr (catalyst II) and Cu–Zn–Ni–Al (catalyst I) + Ni–Cr (catalyst III). The activity of these mixtures in nitrogen oxides reduction by propane was greater than that of individual components in each case. The worked-out catalytical systems showed high effectivity in the process of simultaneous removal of several toxic components: NO x , CO, hydrocarbons – from model gas mixtures, as well as from real exhausts of automotive transport.  相似文献

Generation of well-dispersed, well-characterized fibers is important in toxicology studies. A vortex-tube shaking method is investigated using glass fibers to characterize the generated aerosol. Controlling parameters that were studied included initial batch amounts of glass fibers, preparation of the powder (e.g., preshaking), humidity, and airflow rate. Total fiber number concentrations and aerodynamic size distributions were typically measured. The aerosol concentration is only stable for short times (t < 10 min) and then falls precipitously, with concomitant changes in the aerosol aerodynamic size distribution; the plateau concentration and its duration both increase with batch size. Preshaking enhances the initial aerosol concentration and enables the aerosolization of longer fibers. Higher humidity strongly affects the particle size distribution and the number concentration, resulting in a smaller modal diameter and a higher number concentration. Running the vortex shaker at higher flow rates (Q > 0.3 lpm), yields an aerosol with a particle size distribution representative of the batch powder; running the vortex shaker at a lower aerosol flow rate (Q ~ 0.1 lpm) only aerosolizes the shorter fibers. These results have implications for the use of the vortex shaker as a standard aerosol generator.

In the present work, nanocatalysts prepared on inorganic supports (zeolites) were investigated in d-glucose oxidation and compared to systems supported on polymer (hypercrosslinked polystyrene (HPS)) previously described. Catalytic activities and selectivities were measured under various reaction conditions. The selectivity of d-glucose oxidation and activity of both Pd-containing zeolites and HPS-Ru were similar (99.7% and TOF 0.013–0.014 mol/(mol Me s)). Physicochemical analysis X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, liquid nitrogen physisorption, diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy of adsorbed CO for metal sites evaluation, CD3CN for acid sites evaluation showed that Pd species were in oxidic form, while Ru species were in oxidic and reduced form. The catalytic activity decreased when acidic sites were present in Pd-containing zeolites.  相似文献

Subchronic intoxication was induced in outbred male rats by repeated intraperitoneal injections with lead oxide (PbO) and/or cadmium oxide (CdO) nanoparticles (NPs) 3 times a week during 6 weeks for the purpose of examining its effects on the contractile characteristics of isolated right ventricle trabeculae and papillary muscles in isometric and afterload contractions. Isolated and combined intoxication with these NPs was observed to reduce the mechanical work produced by both types of myocardial preparation. Using the in vitro motility assay, we showed that the sliding velocity of regulated thin filaments drops under both isolated and combined intoxication with CdO–NP and PbO–NP. These results correlate with a shift in the expression of myosin heavy chain (MHC) isoforms towards slowly cycling β–MHC. The type of CdO–NP + PbO–NP combined cardiotoxicity depends on the effect of the toxic impact, the extent of this effect, the ratio of toxicant doses, and the degree of stretching of cardiomyocytes and muscle type studied. Some indices of combined Pb–NP and CdO–NP cardiotoxicity and general toxicity (genotoxicity included) became fully or partly normalized if intoxication developed against background administration of a bioprotective complex.  相似文献

Lanthanum orthoferrite powders were synthesized via one-step hydrothermal reactions under mild conditions using microwave and conventional heating. The use of microwave irradiation during the synthesis allows one to obtain nanocrystalline LaFeO3 with a higher yield and reduced crystallite and particle size within a 16 times shorter duration (3 hours) at a lower temperature of 220°C as compared to the conventional heating. The catalytic decomposition of nitrous oxide was performed over both samples, it was shown that the sample obtained under microwave conditions demonstrates enhanced activity as a catalyst: N2O decomposes completely at 700°C over the catalyst formed at microwave conditions, while the comparative catalyst prepared by conventional heating reaches a lower conversion of only 60% at the same temperature and catalytic reaction conditions.  相似文献

New efficient intermetallide catalysts for hydrogen storage in reversible processes of aromatics hydrogenation and naphthene dehydrogenation were studied. These catalysts provide an enhanced activity in the dehydrogenation of saturated organic molecules, with no side reactions like cracking, hydrogenolysis, ring opening, or coke formation occurring on these catalysts. The use of intermetallides provides some hydrogen storage capacity in the low-temperature region, while their catalytic activity in the dehydrogenation affords the hydrogen supply in the high-temperature range.  相似文献

We develop and validate a novel numerical algorithm for the simulation of axisymmetric single-phase fluid flow phenomena in porous and permeable media. In this new algorithm, the two-dimensional parabolic partial differential equation for fluid flow is transformed into an explicit finite-difference operator problem. The latter is solved by making use of an extended Krylov subspace method (EKSM) constructed with both positive and inverse powers of the finite-difference operator. A significant advantage of the method of solution presented in this paper is that simulations of pressure can be obtained at a multitude of times with practically the same efficiency as that of a single-time simulation. Moreover, the usage of inverse powers of the finite-difference operator provides a substantial increase in efficiency with respect to that of standard Krylov subspace methods. Tests of numerical performance with respect to analytical solutions for point and line sources validate the accuracy of the developed method of solution. We also validate the algorithm by making comparisons between analytical and numerical solutions in the Laplace transform domain. Additional tests of accuracy and efficiency are performed against a commercial simulator for spatially complex and anisotropic models of permeable media.  相似文献
