We present a new diffeomorphic surface mapping algorithm under the framework of large deformation diffeomorphic metric mapping (LDDMM). Unlike existing LDDMM approaches, this new algorithm reduces the complexity of the estimation of diffeomorphic transformations by incorporating a shape prior in which a nonlinear diffeomorphic shape space is represented by a linear space of initial momenta of diffeomorphic geodesic flows from a fixed template. In addition, for the first time, the diffeomorphic mapping is formulated within a decision-theoretic scheme based on Bayesian modeling in which an empirical shape prior is characterized by a low dimensional Gaussian distribution on initial momentum. This is achieved using principal component analysis (PCA) to construct the eigenspace of the initial momentum. A likelihood function is formulated as the conditional probability of observing surfaces given any particular value of the initial momentum, which is modeled as a random field of vector-valued measures characterizing the geometry of surfaces. We define the diffeomorphic mapping as a problem that maximizes a posterior distribution of the initial momentum given observable surfaces over the eigenspace of the initial momentum. We demonstrate the stability of the initial momentum eigenspace when altering training samples using a bootstrapping method. We then validate the mapping accuracy and show robustness to outliers whose shape variation is not incorporated into the shape prior. 相似文献

We present measurements on an aperiodic device-specific longitudinal-mode pattern in InGaN laser diodes. The characteristic shape of this pattern occurs only if the laser is driven slightly above threshold; in addition, it tunes with temperature at exactly the same rate as the cavity modes. By careful selection of the collection optics and averaging ten rapid scans over 15 min in a high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometer, we could exclude possible explanations like beating of mode families, self-pulsation, or external reflections. A naive simulation of the longitudinal modes profiting from their individual "gain profile" along the cavity suggests that we see the signature of quantum-well thickness fluctuations. 相似文献

The objectives of this study were to determine if ultrasonic strain image analysis could estimate pork eating quality parameters (such as fresh color, drip loss, and Warner/Bratzler shear). Intact semimembranosus (SM) muscles (cap off) were analyzed for ultimate pH (pH(ult)). Forty-five SM muscles were selected from the larger allotment of fresh hams over a 3-week period. The SM muscles were selected based on high and low pH(ult) in an attempt to represent a wide range of pork quality. Ultrasonic strain images were obtained perpendicular to the SM muscle fibers of an 8-cm cube. Radio-frequency data from each SM were obtained from a field-of-view (FOV) of 40×30 mm(2) and digitized for each compression step. Tissue displacements were computed for each compression step. Tissue strains were computed from displacement data located in the FOV representing areas of harder and softer muscle tissue and converted to gray scale images at 256 levels. Tissue irregularity of hardness and softness was measured using Fractal dimension and Haralicks parameters. Twenty-one Fractal dimension (FR) parameters, at two neighborhood distances (N), from each strain image and nine Haralick's (HAR) textural parameters (inter-pixel distance=1) were analyzed for each image. The variable FR4N4 had a -0.279 correlation with SM ultimate pH (p<0.10); FR6N8 correlated to WB shear force at 0.325 (p<0.05); and FR21N8 had a correlation coefficient of 0.364 with intramuscular fat (p<0.01). Linear regression equations generated from FRN and HAR parameters for intramuscular fat (R(2)=0.468), Warner/Bratzler shear (R(2)=0.360), and 30 h drip loss (R(2)=0.208). Although elastographic measurement was significantly correlated to shear (p<0.05), a better understanding of physical meat texture is necessary before elastography can be used to identify superior quality pork. 相似文献

In this paper, we present an adaptive two-pass rank order filter to remove impulse noise in highly corrupted images. When the noise ratio is high, rank order filters, such as the median filter for example, can produce unsatisfactory results. Better results can be obtained by applying the filter twice, which we call two-pass filtering. To further improve the performance, we develop an adaptive two-pass rank order filter. Between the passes of filtering, an adaptive process is used to detect irregularities in the spatial distribution of the estimated impulse noise. The adaptive process then selectively replaces some pixels changed by the first pass of filtering with their original observed pixel values. These pixels are then kept unchanged during the second filtering. In combination, the adaptive process and the second filter eliminate more impulse noise and restore some pixels that are mistakenly altered by the first filtering. As a final result, the reconstructed image maintains a higher degree of fidelity and has a smaller amount of noise. The idea of adaptive two-pass processing can be applied to many rank order filters, such as a center-weighted median filter (CWMF), adaptive CWMF, lower-upper-middle filter, and soft-decision rank-order-mean filter. Results from computer simulations are used to demonstrate the performance of this type of adaptation using a number of basic rank order filters. 相似文献

Whenever metal electrodes are used for chronic exposure of biological material to ELF electric fields in a liquid medium, there is a possibility that observed effects are caused directly by ions from the electrodes rather than by the electric field. The problem can be avoided by using insulated electrodes, but ordinarily this severely limnits the fields which can be obtained in the medium.
