A novel method for the preparation of CuS nanoparticles based on the fast nucleation of the sulphide has been developed. The particles have been synthesized by reaction of thioacetic acid with water and copper carboxylates (acetate, propionate) in the corresponding carboxylic acid (acetic, propionic) as a solvent. The use of carboxylic acids presents several advantages: (i) the hydrolysis of the C-S bond is favoured thus producing a fast CuS supersaturation and a high nucleation rate; (ii) the mobility of the precursor molecules is limited so that nucleation events are favoured with respect to particle growth; (iii) the low dielectric constant of the medium stabilises the nanoparticles dispersion by reducing the critical coagulation concentration. The prepared nanoparticles were investigated by UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy and dynamic light scattering. The nanoparticle suspensions are clear and characterized by a blue-shifted adsorption edge with respect to bulk CuS. Light scattering measurements performed on acetic acid suspensions evidence the formation of monodispersed nanoparticles with an average diameter of about 5 nm. 相似文献

Polyimide composite films were prepared by mixing the BaTiO3 particles into poly(amic acid) solution followed by film casting and thermal imidization under controlled temperature conditions. The poly(amic acid) was synthesized by solution polycondensation reaction of 4,4′‐oxydiphthalic anhydride with 2,6‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)benzonitrile, using N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone as solvent. The surface of BaTiO3 particles was modified by treating with an aminosilane coupling agent, 3‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the structure and properties of the composites. The influence of BaTiO3 content on the composite film properties was evidenced. The films exhibited good thermal stability having the initial decomposition temperature above 520°C. They had stable dielectric properties over large intervals of temperature and frequency. The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss increased with the increase of BaTiO3 content. The dynamic mechanical analysis and dielectric spectroscopy revealed subglass transitions γ and β. Physical chemical properties of cupuassu fat were modified by dry fractionation. Stearin and olein fractions were obtained at 29, 26, and 24 °C. Polymorphic behavior of unfractionated cupuassu fat (UCF) and its fractions were studied in situ by small-angle (SAXS) and wide-angle (WAXS) X-ray scattering using synchrotron light. Polymorphic transitions were followed in real time tempering samples with a thermal cycle. For UCF, the main polymorphic form crystallized under selected conditions was the β’2. α and β’1-forms appeared in trace amounts. β2-form was obtained after storage at 25 °C for 3 months. Stearins obtained at 26 (S-26) and 24 °C (S-24) showed a similar polymorphic behavior. However, S-26 with improved physical properties might be more suitable for chocolate production or as a trans-fat alternative than UCF. Stearin fraction obtained at 29 °C (S-29) had a complex polymorphic behavior. The α-form was the first polymorphic form detected followed by β’2-form. There was a polymorphic transition from α to β’1-form but no transition between β’-forms. They were independent to each other showing fractionation in two different solid solutions. Increased contents of the triacylglycerols (TAG) SOA and SOB together with lower contents of SOO compared to UCF led to co-crystallization because there was no complete compatibility among all TAG present in S-29. β1-form crystallized after storage forming crystals with a double-layer arrangement and a characteristic morphology. The review highlights various aspects of the influence of chaperones on amyloid proteins associated with the development of neurodegenerative diseases and includes studies conducted in our laboratory. Different sections of the article are devoted to the role of chaperones in the pathological transformation of alpha-synuclein and the prion protein. Information about the interaction of the chaperonins GroE and TRiC as well as polymer-based artificial chaperones with amyloidogenic proteins is summarized. Particular attention is paid to the effect of blocking chaperones by misfolded and amyloidogenic proteins. It was noted that the accumulation of functionally inactive chaperones blocked by misfolded proteins might cause the formation of amyloid aggregates and prevent the disassembly of fibrillar structures. Moreover, the blocking of chaperones by various forms of amyloid proteins might lead to pathological changes in the vital activity of cells due to the impaired folding of newly synthesized proteins and their subsequent processing. The final section of the article discusses both the little data on the role of gut microbiota in the propagation of synucleinopathies and prion diseases and the possible involvement of the bacterial chaperone GroE in these processes. 相似文献

Metal matrix composite coatings obtained by electrodeposition are one of the ways of improving the surfaces of materials to enhance their durability and properties required in different applications. This paper presents an analysis of the surface topography, microstructure and properties (residual stresses, microhardness, wear resistance) of Ni/Al2O3 nanocomposite coatings electrodeposited on steel substrates from modified Watt’s-type baths containing various concentrations of Al2O3 nanoparticles and a saccharin additive. The residual stresses measured in the Ni/Al2O3 coatings decreased with an increasing amount of the co-deposited ceramics. It was established that the addition of Al2O3 powder significantly improved the coatings’ microhardness. The wear mechanism changed from adhesive-abrasive to abrasive with a rising amount of Al2O3 particles and coating microhardness. Nanocomposite coatings also exhibited a lower coefficient of friction than that of a pure Ni-electrodeposited coating. The friction was found to depend on the surface roughness, and the smoother surfaces gave lower friction coefficients. 相似文献

The paper presents the determination of iron forms in food products. The procedure of sample extraction was developed and optimized, preserving the content of particular forms of iron. The colorimetric method using 2,2′-bipirydyl (measurements at 520 nm) was applied in Fe(II) determinations, while in Fe(III) determinations, the colorimetric method with potassium thiocyanate (measurements at 470 nm) was applied. The total content of iron was determined by the technique of atomic absorption spectrometry, which allowed for the determination of iron content in organic and inorganic complex compounds. Detection limits of 1 mg kg?1 were obtained for all determined iron forms, with the precision ranging between 0.7 % and 1.5 % for 10 mg kg?1 concentration. The optimized analytical procedure was applied in the determinations of iron forms in iron-fortified food products. 相似文献

In modern society, printers are widely used in the office environment. This study investigated particle number and PM2.5 emissions from printers using the TSI SMPS, TSI CPC 3022, and 3025A TSI P-Trak and DustTrak. The monitoring of particle characteristics in a large open-plan office showed that particles generated by printers can significantly (p = 0.01) affect the submicrometer particle number concentration levels in the office. An investigation of the submicrometer particle emissions produced by each of the 62 printers used in the office building was also conducted and based on the particle concentrations in the immediate vicinity of the printers, after a short printing job, the printers were divided into four classes: non-emitters, and low, medium, and high emitters. It was found that approximately 60% of the investigated printers did not emit submicrometer particles and of the 40% that did emit particles, 27% were high particle emitters. Particle emission characteristics from three different laser printers were also studied in an experimental chamber, which showed that particle emission rates are printer-type specific and are affected by toner coverage and cartridge age. While a more comprehensive study is still required, to provide a better database of printer emission rates, as well as their chemical characteristics, the results from this study imply that submicrometer particle concentration levels in an office can be reduced by a proper choice of the printers. 相似文献
