We apply semidefinite programming to an estimation problem in optical lithography. In this problem, an approximate model of the imaging system is modified so that it satisfies a set of calibration measurements, with the purpose of incorporating into the model distortion effects due to diffusion and etching. The estimation problem is formulated as a semidefinite program, and several techniques are presented for exploiting problem structure in an interior-point method for solving it. These include efficient methods for handling upper bounds on the matrix variables, symmetry constraints on the variables, and low-rank structure in the coefficient matrices.  相似文献

The dissolution behavior of Ti in liquid Fe has been investigated experimentally and theoretically within the framework of inclusion formation in steel. In the experimental study, Ti cylinders have been immersed into liquid Fe and, subsequently, water-quenched. Macroscopic observation of quenched samples shows the initial solidification of an Fe shell around the Ti. Microstructural analysis of the Fe-Ti interfacial area with a scanning electron microscope equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer reveals that a reaction zone develops in a three-step process: formation of a first liquid eutectic layer rich in Ti, formation of a second eutectic layer rich in Fe, and then mixing of both layers. The reaction zone grows in thickness up to 40 pct of the original sample radius and dissolves both parts of the Ti sample and the Fe shell. A simplified, one-dimensional, implicit finite volume model has been used to describe these phenomena theoretically. Good qualitative agreement is achieved between experiment and model. The model has been used to estimate the influence of original addition size, preheating, convection, and superheating on the required melt-back time.  相似文献

Surrogating Campylobacter contamination level in broiler carcasses with other bacterial indicators, used to evaluate the hygienic status of the slaughterline operations, might be stimulation to the broiler meat industry to improve control of Campylobacter during slaughter. Theoretically, Escherichia coli might have some practical merits as a potential indicator for carcasses contaminated with Campylobacter. This study investigates the correlation between the counts of E. coli and Campylobacter in 231 postchill broiler carcasses. The impact of setting a process hygiene target based on E. coli counts on reducing the frequency of carcasses contaminated with Campylobacter at level of ≥3 log10 CFU/g was also investigated. Almost half (48.9% (46/94)) of the carcasses with enumerable Campylobacter (≥1 log10 CFU/g) had E. coli counts between 3 and 4 log10 CFU/g. In addition, 54.8% (17/31) of the carcasses contaminated with Campylobacter of ≥3 log10 CFU/g were correlated with E. coli count range of ≥3 & <4 log10 CFU/g. A theoretical scenario assuming that hygiene and processing measures could allow achieving a target for E. coli that not exceeding 3 log10 CFU/g showed a parallel impact on Campylobacter contamination in broiler carcasses. In such scenario, the overall number of Campylobacter-positive carcasses could be dropped from 40.6% to 12.5%; in addition, 80.6% (25/31) of the carcasses contaminated with Campylobacter of ≥3 log10 CFU/g could be eliminated. Findings from this study reveal that a hygiene target based on E. coli count could be used as an indirect sanitary tool for reducing the level of Campylobacter contamination in postchill broiler carcasses.  相似文献

From 1997 to 1999, the prevalence of Salmonella was assessed at different stages through the pork, poultry, and beef meat production chains. Different dilutions of the initial sample suspension were analyzed to provide a semiquantitative evaluation of Salmonella contamination and to determine the most representative dilution necessary to detect a reduction in prevalence. An average of 300 samples for each type of meat were analyzed. According to Fisher's exact test, the dilution to be used to detect a reduction in prevalence was chosen based on an initial prevalence of 20 to 26%. Based on this introductory study, a new sampling plan representative of the nationwide Belgian meat production process was used from 2000 through to 2003. This study confirmed the consistently high rate and level of contamination of poultry meat: broiler and layer carcasses were the most contaminated samples followed by broiler fillets and poultry meat preparations. A constant and significant decrease in Salmonella prevalence was observed for pork carcasses, trimmings, and minced meat and for beef minced meat. Less than 3% of beef carcasses and trimming samples were positive for Salmonella. The Belgian plan, as utilized from 2000 to 2003, was suitable for monitoring of zoonoses because the sampling plan was representative of nationwide production processes, covered all periods of the year, and was executed by trained samplers and the analyses were carried out by recognized laboratories using an identical analytical method.  相似文献

Pig carcass swabs (n = 254) and minced meat samples (n = 82) were examined for pathogenic Yersinia enterocolitica using different routinely used enrichment protocols. All samples were obtained in the context of the official Yersinia monitoring program in Belgium. In total, 28 carcasses (11.0%) were contaminated with Y. enterocolitica bioserotype 4/O:3 and one (0.4%) with bioserotype 2/O:9. Four minced meat samples (4.9%) tested positive for Y. enterocolitica bioserotype 4/O:3. Using the ISO 10273:2003 method, eight out of the 29 Yersinia-positive carcasses (27.6%) and none of the contaminated minced meat samples (0.0%) were detected. Reducing the enrichment time in PSB from 5 to 2 days increased the number of positive samples. Overall, enrichment in PSB at 25 °C recovered more positive carcasses and minced meat samples than selective enrichment and cold enrichment. As the exclusive use of the ISO 10273:2003 method results in a strong underestimation of Y. enterocolitica positive carcasses and minced meats, efforts are needed to optimize the current version of the ISO method. In addition, isolation of pathogenic Y. enterocolitica requires experience and the use of a stereomicroscope to avoid false negative results.  相似文献

The present study evaluates the relationship between metal-binding sediment characteristics like acid volatile sulfides (AVS), metal accumulation, and internal metal distribution in the benthic oligochaete Tubifex tubifex and relates this accumulation to the induction of metallothionein-like proteins (MTLPs). In total, 15 Flemish lowland rivers were sampled. Cd, Cu, Zn, Pb, Ni, As, Cr, Co, and Ag concentrations were measured in environmental fractions (water and sediment) and worm tissue (both total and subcellular fractions). Furthermore, total cytosolic MTLP concentrations were measured in the worm tissue. Our results showed that Cd, Pb, Ni, and Cr were mainly stored as biological detoxified metal (BDM) while Cu, Zn, As, and Ag were mostly available in the metal sensitive fraction (MSF). A remarkable difference in the subcellular distribution of accumulated Cd, Ni, and Co between anoxic (SEMMe-AVS<0; mostly stored as BDM) and oxic (SEMMe-AVS>0; mostly stored in the MSF) sediments was noticed. Moreover, a rapid increase in MTLP induction was found when SEMTot-AVS>0. Our results indicate that the accumulated sulfide-bound metals were detoxified and little available to the metabolism of T. tubifex under anoxic conditions.  相似文献

Fitness wearables and apps provide users with quantified information about their exercise behaviour. Users often access this information on online fitness communities (OFCs) such as RunKeeper or Strava. These OFCs do not only provide feedback on the user’s performance but also offer social features. To date, little is known about the extent to which the different features in OFCs answer to users’ motivations to exercise. This study addresses this question, by examining (1) whether there are differences in motivations for running between OFC users and non-users and (2) whether the use of particular features is driven by particular running motivations. A survey study was conducted among 717 runners, of which 57% used an OFC to support running activities. Results demonstrate that OFC users are more achievement-oriented than non-OFC users, especially regarding the attainment of personal goals. OFC users with physical motivations (e.g. weight loss) use self-regulatory features more frequently, while runners with social motivations more often use features that afford them to share activities on social media. Achievement-oriented runners appreciate features that allow them to track their progress and interact with other OFC users. No relation was found between the use of OFC features and psychological motivations for running.  相似文献

The potential of graphene-based materials consisting of one or a few layers of graphite for integrated electronics originates from the large room-temperature carrier mobility in these systems (approximately 10,000 cm2 V(-1) s(-1)). However, the realization of electronic devices such as field-effect transistors will require controlling and even switching off the electrical conductivity by means of gate electrodes, which is made difficult by the absence of a bandgap in the intrinsic material. Here, we demonstrate the controlled induction of an insulating state--with large suppression of the conductivity--in bilayer graphene, by using a double-gate device configuration that enables an electric field to be applied perpendicular to the plane. The dependence of the resistance on temperature and electric field, and the absence of any effect in a single-layer device, strongly suggest that the gate-induced insulating state originates from the recently predicted opening of a bandgap between valence and conduction bands.  相似文献

An in situ crosslinkable, biodegradable, methacrylate-encapped porous bone scaffold composed of D: ,L: -lactide, varepsilon-caprolactone, 1,6-hexanediol and poly(ortho-esters), in which crosslinkage is achieved by photoinitiators, was developed for bone tissue regeneration. Three different polymer mixtures (pure polymer and 30% bioactive glass or alpha-tricalcium phosphate added) were tested in a uni-cortical tibial defect model in eight goats. The polymers were randomly applicated in one of four (6.0 mm diameter) defects leaving a fourth defect unfilled. Biocompatibility and bone healing properties were evaluated by serial radiographies, histology and histomorphometry. The pure polymer clearly showed excellent biocompatibility and moderate osteoconductive properties. The addition of alpha-TCP increased the latter characteristics. This product offers potentials as a carrier for bone healing promoter substances.  相似文献
