In ultrasonic-vibration drawing, wires are drawn while ultrasonic vibration is applied to a drawing die. Prior studies provide experimental proof that ultrasonic-vibration drawing reduces drawing resistance, improves lubrication and prevents wire breakage. In the future, ultrasonic-vibration drawing is expected to contribute to the drawing of difficult-to-draw materials and operations, such as shaped wires, ultrafine wires, and the wire drawing operation in semidry or dry condition. However, a detailed analysis and understanding of the mechanism of improvement is not possible on the basis of conventional experimental observations because the ultrasonic-vibration processing phenomenon occurs at high speed. Therefore, we attempted to understand the processing mechanism of ultrasonic-vibration drawing using the finite element method (FEM). ABAQUS was used for the FEM. Drawing force and stress–strain distributions in drawn wires were analyzed. From these studies, we quantitatively clarified the mechanism of improved drawing characteristics, such as decreased drawing force.  相似文献

Alumina ceramics were brazed to Inconel 600 and UMCo-50 superalloys at 900 °C for 10 min using an Sn10Ag4Ti active filler metal. The brazing filler showed good wettability on alumina and superalloys. The flexural strengths were 69 and 57 MPa for alumina/Inconel 600 and alumina/UMCo-50 joints, respectively. In both cases, the brazed specimens fractured along the Sn10Ag4Ti/superalloy interfaces after four-point bending tests. Electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) elemental mapping revealed that the Ni of Inconel 600 and the Co of UMCo-50 dissolved into Sn10Ag4Ti filler metal, which serves to reinforce the weak Sn10Ag4Ti matrix.  相似文献

The thermodynamic quantities of metals and alloys are studied using the moment method in the quantum statistical mechanics, going beyond the quasi-harmonic approximations. Including the power moments of the atomic displacements up to the fourth order, the free energy, specific heats Cv and Cp, mean square atomic displacements and thermal lattice expansion coefficients are derived explicitly in terms of the second and fourth order vibrational coupling constants. The thermodynamic quantities are calculated both for cubic (fcc and bcc) and closed packed hexagonal (hcp) metals. The Lennard–Jones type of potentials as well as the effective interatomic potentials derived from the tight-binding (TB) total energy calculation scheme are used. The calculated thermodynamic quantities are favorably compared with the experimental results. For the calculations of alloys, we investigate the effects of thermal lattice vibration on the long range order (LRO) parameter and order–disorder transitions of the ordered binary alloys.  相似文献

Water transport rate in network membranes is inversely correlated to thickness, thus superior permeance is achievable with ultrathin membranes prepared by complicated methods circumventing nanofilm weakness and defects. Conferring ultrahigh permeance to easily prepared thicker membranes remains challenging. Here, a tetrakis(hydroxymethyl) phosphonium chloride (THPC) monomer is discovered that enables straightforward modification of polyamide composite membranes. Water permeance of the modified membrane is ≈6 times improved, give rising to permeability (permeance × thickness) one magnitude higher than state-of-the-art polymer nanofiltration membranes. Meanwhile, the membrane exhibits good rejection (RNa2SO4 = 98%) and antibacterial properties under crossflow conditions. THPC modification not only improves membrane hydrophilicity, but also creates additional angstrom-scale channels in polyamide membranes for unimpeded transport of water. This unique mechanism provides a paradigm shift in facile preparation of ultrapermeable membranes with unreduced thickness for clean water and desalination.  相似文献

This study examined the cooling channel design of hot stamping tools to provide an effective method for the cooling system design. A flat plate tool model was investigated to determine the effects of cooling channel and manufacturing parameters on the cooling rate and cooling uniformity of the sheet blank by conducting finite element analysis. The fractional factor method was also employed to establish empirical equations for describing the cooling performance of the flat plate model. The empirical equations established in the present study can efficiently predict the cooling rate and cooling uniformity of sheet blanks with various cooling channel designs, and are of much help in providing an initial cooling system design for hot stamping tools. To validate the accuracy of the finite element analysis, experiments on sheet blank cooling process were conducted using the proposed flat plate tool design. The cooling processes were cyclically repeated for the validation of blank temperature distribution. The temperature evolution of sheet blanks obtained from the finite element simulations agree well with the experimental results and the validity of the finite element model is confirmed, and thus the effectiveness of the empirical equations is established.  相似文献

Computer algorithms are proposed for the estimation of wear appearing in artificial hip joints using finite element analysis based on the modified Archard's wear law, contact features and an analogue wear process. A pin-on-disk plate experiment is reconstructed to assess the efficiency and validity of the algorithms proposed here. Through the successful verification of wear depth and volume loss of the pin-on-disk plate as well as the artificial hip joint, the current algorithms provide significant agreement with experiments, clinical measurements and numerical calculations and are shown to be both valid and feasible. Further investigation into the effect of femoral heads with various sizes suggests that the larger femoral head may induce larger wear volume but gives a smaller wear depth and that wear depth and volume loss are apparently nonlinearly related to the femoral head diameter. It is shown that the current algorithms are useful and helpful in understanding wear behavior for alternative or new designs of artificial hip joints and even for other analogous structures.  相似文献

The problems of /spl alpha/-cut fuzzy arithmetic have been shown, like in interval arithmetic, that distinct states of fuzzy parameters (or fuzzy variable values) may be chosen and produce an overestimated fuzziness. Meanwhile, local extrema of a function may exist inside the support of fuzzy parameters and cause an underestimation of fuzziness and an illegal fuzzy number's result. Previous approaches to overcoming these problems have appeared in literature. Yet, the computational burden of these approaches became even heavier. Thus, this paper is based on the vertex method in literature and extensively proposes newly devised rules observed greatly useful for simplifying the vertex method. These rules are devised through a function partitioned into subfunctions, distinguishing the types of fuzzy parameter/variable occurrences, and types of subfunctions or functions with the various observations. The improved efficiency has been found able to significantly reduce the combination (vertex) test of the vertex method for the fuzzy parameters' /spl alpha/-cut endpoints possibly to only a few fuzzy parameters' endpoint combinations. Also as related, a procedure for the fuzzy optimization of fuzzy functions with a fuzzy blurred argument (a single variable) is examined with the vertex method as well. A proper and useful preliminary algorithm is proposed. Numerical examples with results are provided.  相似文献
