The low temperature photoluminescence of Cd0.91Zn0.09Te grown by the high-pressure Bridgman (HPB) method exhibits a neutral donor bound exciton emission (D0X) at 1.65603 eV with its excited state (D0X*) at 1.65798 eV and neutral acceptor bound exciton emissions (A0X) at 1.64566 eV and 1.65201 eV. Assuming a direct generation and subsequent relaxation of excitons at the D0X* state, we demonstrate that the temporal evolution of the above emission bands is well reproduced by a set of rate equations.
The resultant radiative-lifetime of 1.4 ns for the D0X and 1.5 and 2.0 ns for the A0Xs are compared with various CdZnTe's (CZTs) grown by the other methods to demonstrate the particular nature of the HPB CZT. 相似文献

Mercury (Hg) concentration, reservoir mass, and Hg reservoir size were determined for vegetation components, litter, and mineral soil for two Sierran forest sites and one desert sagebrush steppe site. Mercury was found to be held primarily in the mineral soil (maximum depth of 60 to 100 cm), which contained more than 90% of the total ecosystem reservoir. However, Hg in foliage, bark, and litter plays a more dominant role in Hg cycling than the mineral soil. Mercury partitioning into ecosystem components at the Sierran forest sites was similar to that observed for other US forest sites. Vegetation and litter Hg reservoirs were significantly smaller in the sagebrush steppe system because of lower biomass. Data collected from these ecosystems after wildfire and prescribed burns showed a significant decrease in the Hg pool from certain reservoirs. No loss from mineral soil was observed for the study areas but data from fire severity points suggested that Hg in the upper few millimeters of surface soil may be volatilized due to exposure to elevated temperatures. Comparison of data from burned and unburned plots suggested that the only significant source of atmospheric Hg from the prescribed burn was combustion of litter. Differences in unburned versus burned Hg reservoirs at the forest wildfire site demonstrated that drastic reduction in the litter and above ground live biomass Hg reservoirs after burning had occurred. Sagebrush and litter were absent in the burned plots after a wildfire suggesting that both reservoirs were released during the fire. Mercury emissions due to fire from the forest prescribed burn, forest wildfire, and sagebrush steppe wildfire sites were roughly estimated at 2.0 to 5.1, 2.2 to 4.9, and 0.36+/-0.13 g ha(-1), respectively, with litter and vegetation being the most important sources. 相似文献

Machine learning can produce promising results when sufficient training data are available; however, infrastructure inspections typically do not provide sufficient training data for road damage. Given the differences in the environment, the type of road damage and the degree of its progress can vary from structure to structure. The use of generative models, such as a generative adversarial network (GAN) or a variational autoencoder, makes it possible to generate a pseudoimage that cannot be distinguished from a real one. Combining a progressive growing GAN along with Poisson blending artificially generates road damage images that can be used as new training data to improve the accuracy of road damage detection. The addition of a synthesized road damage image to the training data improves the F‐measure by 5% and 2% when the number of original images is small and relatively large, respectively. Administration of kainic acid evokes acute seizure in hippocampal pathways that results in a complex sequence of functional and structural alterations resembling human temporal lobe epilepsy. The structural alterations induced by kainic acid include selective loss of neurones in CA1-CA3 subfields and the hilar region of the dentate gyrus followed by sprouting and permanent reorganization of the synaptic connections of the mossy fibre pathways. Although the neuronal degeneration and process of reactive synaptogenesis have been extensively studied, at present little is known about means to prevent pathological conditions leading to kainate-induced cell death. In the present study, to address the role of insulin-like growth factors I and II, and insulin in neuronal survival as well as synaptic reorganization following kainate-induced seizure, the time course alterations of the corresponding receptors were evaluated. Additionally, using histological preparations, the temporal profile of neuronal degeneration and hypertrophy of resident astroglial cells were also studied. [125I]Insulin-like growth factor I binding was found to be decreased transiently in almost all regions of the hippocampal formation at 12 h following treatment with kainic acid. The dentate hilar region however, exhibited protracted decreases in [125I]insulin-like growth factor I receptor sites throughout (i.e. 30 days) the study. [125I]Insulin-like growth factor II receptor binding sites in the hippocampal formation were found to be differentially altered following systemic administration of kainic acid. A significant decrease in [125I]insulin-like growth factor II receptor sites was observed in CA1 subfield and the pyramidal cell layer of the Ammon's horn at all time points studied whereas the hilar region and the stratum radiatum did not exhibit alteration at any time. A kainate-induced decrease in [125I]insulin receptor binding was noted at all time points in the molecular layer of the dentate gyrus whereas binding in CA1-CA3 subfields and discrete layers of the Ammon's horn was found to be affected only after 12 h of treatment. These results, when analysed with reference to the observed histological changes and established neurotrophic/protective roles of insulin-like growth factors and insulin, suggest possible involvement of these growth factors in the cascade of neurotrophic events that is associated with the reorganization of the hippocampal formation observed following kainate-induced seizures. 相似文献

A static VAr generator (SVG) using self-commutated inverters of 80 MVA capacity was developed and successfully applied to an annual 154 KV power system to stabilize the power system. The SVG consists of 48 pulse multiple inverters whereby gate turn-off (GTO) thyristors are applied. After installing it at a power system site, a field test was conducted to confirm the system stabilizing effect. The test results displayed the expected performance, and the SVG was proven to be effective power system stabilizer. This paper describes a method which we have developed to prepare high quality polyimide Langmuir-Blodgett films. The key was to achieve good Y-type deposition of the polyamic acid Langmuir films from which the polyimide films are derived. It was found to be important to control two factors carefully: the time between preparation of the spreading solution and its use, and the pressure- annealing time of the Langmuir film. The characterization of the films, which involved liquid crystal alignment properties, Fourier transform IR, scanning electron microscopy, and scanning tunneling microscopy, showed that the structural integrity was much higher for the Y-type films. It is confirmed that stencil printing with a novel developed printable polyimide paste can be used for polymer film deposition on LSI wafers. A thick polyimide film with openings for solder ball bumping can be deposited on all of the LSIs on a wafer by stencil printing at one time. This stencil printing process does not need an expensive lithography process, providing cost-effective wafer-level chip scale packages (WLCSPs). In this study, a novel polyimide paste was tailored to have a higher thixotropy ratio than conventional printable polyimide materials. The novel printable polyimide paste shows that the viscosity ratio of more than 3.5 at the shear rate of 1 to 10 s−1 and that the viscosity increases rapidly after the shear rate is lowered. Fine spaces of 40 μm between 250 μm openings were obtained for 10 μm thick polyimide films on Si wafers. It has been also confirmed that the new paste shows the variation range of 30 μm at the opening size of 385 μm within 100 continuously printed wafers. Even after the new paste was shear-thinned repeatedly, rheological behavior of the new paste was not changed. This robustness leads to higher efficiency of the materials for mass-producing. From the reliability viewpoint of the printed polyimide films, no peelings were observed on plasma-CVD SiN films after the pressure cooker test under the condition of 127 °C and 0.25 MPa with the humidity of 100% for 300 h. The optimal stencil printing process using the novel developed paste will lead to significant cost reduction of a patterned polymer deposition process. Finally, WLCSPs using the stencil printing of the new polyimide paste have been demonstrated for SRAM LSIs on 8-in. wafers. 相似文献

Foodborne illness of microbial origin is the most serious food safety problem in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 79% of outbreaks between 1987 and 1992 were bacterial; improper holding temperature and poor personal hygiene of food handlers contributed most to disease incidence. Some microbes have demonstrated resistance to standard methods of preparation and storage of foods. Nonetheless, food safety and public health officials attribute a rise in incidence of foodborne illness to changes in demographics and consumer lifestyles that affect the way food is prepared and stored. Food editors report that fewer than 50% of consumers are concerned about food safety. An American Meat Institute (1996) study details lifestyle changes affecting food behavior, including an increasing number of women in the workforce, limited commitment to food preparation, and a greater number of single heads of households.
