Investigated whether (1) feminist identity development for women therapists was related to their use of feminist therapy behaviors (FTBs) and (2) feminist identity development and use of FTBs for women therapists were related to self-identification as a feminist therapist. 153 women psychologists (aged 30–77 yrs) were administered a women's issues in therapy questionnaire, which included a short version of the Feminist Identity Scale (FIS; K. M. Rickard, 1989, 1990). Ss were categorized into stages of feminine identity development according to their scores on 4 subscales of the FIS: Passive-Acceptance (PA), Revelation (REV), Embeddedness (EMB), and Synthesis (SYN). Ss scoring high on SYN and REV, and low on PA, reported greater use of FTBs; scores on the EMB were not related to the use of FTBs. Degradation experiments are usually used to assess the lifetime distribution of highly reliable products, which are not likely to fail under the traditional life tests or accelerated life tests. In such cases, if there exist product characteristics whose degradation over time can be related to reliability, then collecting ‘degradation data’ can provide information about product reliability. In general, the degradation data are modeled by a nonlinear regression model with random coefficients. If we can obtain the estimates of parameters under the model, then the failure‐time distribution can be estimated. In order to estimate those parameters, three basic methods are available, namely, the analytical, numerical and the approximate. They are chosen according to the complexity of the degradation path model used in the analysis. In this paper, the numerical and the approximate methods are compared in a simulation study, assuming a simple linear degradation path model. A comparison with traditional failure‐time analysis is also performed. The mean‐squared error of the estimated 100pth percentile of the lifetime distribution is evaluated for each one of the approaches. The approaches are applied to a real degradation data set. A new chip-based method to identify protein-protein interactions was developed using the guanine nucleotide exchange factor GRF2 and two interacting proteins, Ras and calmodulin, as model proteins. A generic immobilization strategy for FLAG-tagged bait proteins on a protein-repellent streptavidin chip surface was implemented by presentation of an oriented anti-FLAG antibody. A flow cell device, integrating different chip surfaces, was developed, and the interaction of immobilized GRF2 with the two analytes was verified by fluorescence assays. On-chip tryptic digest assays were then performed on the capture surface and analyzed by microLC-MS/MS. The interaction of GRF2 with calmodulin and Ras was demonstrated, and the lower limit of detection was determined. We also implemented an on-chip immunoprecipitation assay to identify GRF2-binding partners from complex protein mixtures. Cells overexpressing FLAG-GRF2 were lysed and then incubated with the anti-FLAG chip. In addition to detecting GRF2, we also identified calmodulin, demonstrating that this technique can successfully identify endogenous levels of proteins, bound to recombinant bait proteins. This chip-based method has the advantage that no subsequent gel separations of protein complexes prior to LC-MS analysis are required and is therefore amenable to miniaturized high-throughput determination of protein-protein interactions.  相似文献

A switchable electrode, which relies on an indium‐tin oxide conductive substrate coated with a self‐assembled monolayer terminated with an anthraquinone group (AQ), is reported as an electrowetting system. AQ electrochemical features confer the capability of yielding a significant modulation of surface wettability as high as 26° when its redox state is switched. Hence, an array of planar electrodes for droplets actuation is fabricated and integrated in a microfluidic device to perform mixing and dispensing on sub‐nanoliter scale. Vehiculation of cells across microfluidic compartments is made possible by taking full advantage of surface electrowetting in culture medium.  相似文献

Photochemically induced grafting and graft-polymerization of 4-(N-ethyl-N-2-acryloxyethyl)amino-4′-nitro-azobenzene I , brought into contact in the solid state with cellulose by evaporation of solvent from monomer solutions, has been investigated kinetically at 30°C. Two constant rate periods were observed. The first one was interpreted on the basis of a self-sensitized grafting mechanism of monomeric or oligomeric species of I , photochemically initiated by hydrogen abstraction from the cellulose surface. The second one was explained as a self-sensitized photochemically induced graft-polymerization of I on the first grafted layer. Some particular features, such as concurrent photodegradation of the first grafted layer at low surface coverage, are discussed in the light of the proposed mechanism.  相似文献

Polymeric matrix composite (PMC) has been used in engineering applications instead of metal in the last few years, due to its corrosion resistance and excellent relation between tensile strength/density and elastic modulus/density. However, PMC materials cured by thermal process require high temperature and are time-consuming. The electron beam (EB) curing technology allows its use at room temperature and reduced curing times, and this is one of the main advantages over thermal technology. The aim of this work is to investigate electron beam curable epoxy formulations to use in filament winding processes to produce composite material with similar or better properties than thermal curable composites. The study has been made with commercial epoxy resins and cationic initiators. The epoxy resin samples were irradiated for few minutes with total dose of 150 kGy. The glass transition temperatures (Tg) were determined by dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA) and the result was 137 °C. The thermal process was carried out in a furnace following three steps: 4 h at 90 °C, increasing temperature from 90 °C to 130 °C during 4 h and 12 h at 130 °C. The total process time was 20 h. The Tg of this sample was 102 °C.  相似文献

Magnetic pole enhanced inductively coupled plasmas(MaPE-ICPs) are a promising source for plasma-based etching and have a wide range of material processing appUcations.In the present study Langmuir probe and optical emission spectroscopy were used to monitor the evolution of plasma parameters in a MaPE-ICP Ar-N_2/He mixture plasma.Electron density(n_e) and temperature(T_e),excitation temperature(T_(exc)),plasma potential(V_p),skin depth(δ) and the evolution of the electron energy probability function(EEPF) are reported as a function of radiofrequency(RF) power,pressure and argon concentration in the mixture.It is observed that n_e increases while T_e decreases with increase in RF power and argon concentration in the mixture.The emission intensity of the argon line at 750.4 nm is also used to monitor the variation of the 'high-energy tail' of the EEPF with RF power and gas pressure.The EEPF has a'bi-Maxwellian' distribution at low RF powers and higher pressure in a pure N_2 discharge.However,it evolves into a 'Maxwellian' distribution at RF powers greater than 70 W for pure N_2,and at 50 W for higher argon concentrations in the mixture.The effect of argon concentration on the temperatures of two electron groups in the 'bi-Maxwellian' EEPF is examined.The temperature of the low-energy electron group T_L shows a decreasing trend with argon addition until the 'thermalization' of the two temperatures occurs,while the temperature of high-energy electrons T_H decreases continuously.  相似文献

The development of methods to engineer and immobilize amine transaminases (ATAs) to improve their functionality and operational stability is gaining momentum. The quest for robust, fast, and easy-to-use methods to screen the activity of large collections of transaminases, is essential. This work presents a novel and multiplex fluorescence-based kinetic assay to assess ATA activity using 4-dimethylamino-1-naphthaldehyde as an amine acceptor. The developed assay allowed us to screen a battery of amine donors using free and immobilized ATAs from different microbial sources as biocatalysts. As a result, using chromatographic methods, 4-hydroxybenzylamine was identified as the best amine donor for the amination of 5-(hydroxymethyl)furfural. Finally, we adapted this method to determine the apparent Michaelis-Menten parameters of a model immobilized ATA at the microscopic (single-particle) level. Our studies promote the use of this multiplex, multidimensional assay to screen ATAs for further improvement.  相似文献
