Frequently, affine recurrence equations can be scheduled more efficiently by quadratic scheduling functions than by linear scheduling functions. In this paper, the problem of finding optimal quadratic schedules for affine recurrence equations is formulated as a convex nonsmooth programming problem. In particular, sufficient constraints for causality are used generalizing Lamport's condition. In this way, the presented problem formulation becomes independent of the problem size. The research tool AQUAD is described implementing this problem formulation. Several nontrivial examples demonstrate that AQUAD can be effectively used to calculate quadratic schedules for affine recurrence equations. Finally, it is shown how array processors can be synthesized from affine recurrence equations which are scheduled by quadratic functions with a singular Hessian matrix.  相似文献

By complementation screening of a cadmium-sensitive Schizosaccharomyces pombe mutant deficient in phytochelatin synthesis, but with 44% of the wild-type glutathione content, we cloned a DNA fragment involved in phytochelatin synthesis. Sequence analysis revealed that it encodes the second enzyme involved in glutathione (GSH) biosynthesis, glutathione synthetase (GSH2) (E.C.6.3.2.3, Wang and Oliver, 1997). The mutant allele shows a single base-pair exchange at the 3' end of the reading frame leading to a single amino acid change from glycine to aspartate. This mutation leads to a significant reduction of phytochelatin synthesis, whereas glutathione synthesis is impaired to a far lesser extent. Complementation with the Arabidopsis thaliana GSH2 cDNA led to a partial restoration of phytochelatin synthesis. These data strongly suggest that the GSH2 gene encodes a bifunctional enzyme that is able to catalyse both the synthesis of GSH by adding glycine to the dipeptide (gammaGlu-Cys) and the synthesis of phytochelatins. Human and Candida albicans CYP51 were purified to homogeneity after GAL10‐based heterologous expression in yeast in order to resolve the basis for the selective inhibition of the fungal enzyme over the human orthologue by the azole drugs ketoconazole and itraconazole, used in the treatment of systemic fungal infection. The purified proteins have similar spectral characteristics, both giving a maximum at 448 nm in reduced carbon monoxide difference spectra. Substrate affinity constants of 20·8 and 29·4 μM and Vmax of 0·15 and 0·47 nmol/min/nmol were observed for C. albicans and human enzymes, respectively, in reconstituted enzymatic assays, using an intermediate of the demethylation reaction [32‐3H]‐3β‐hydroxylanost‐7‐en‐32‐ol as the substrate. Both enzymes gave similar type II spectra on titration with drugs, but a reduced affinity was observed for human CYP51 using the ability of carbon monoxide to displace the drug as a ligand and by calculation of IC50. However, although the results indicate higher affinity of the drugs for their target CYP51 in the major fungal pathogen C. albicans, when compared directly to CYP51 from humans, the difference was less than 10‐fold. This difference is an order of magnitude lower than previously reported data based on measurements using unpurified human CYP51 enzyme preparations. Consequently, increased azole doses to combat resistant candidaemia may well inhibit endogenous human CYP51 and the potential consequences are discussed. In this paper (based on our previous paper at ESSCIRC 2004, "A 2.4 GHz-Bandwidth OEIC with Voltage-Up-Converter," but new results for 4 Gb/s and 5 Gb/s have been added), an optoelectronic integrated circuit (OEIC) with an integrated voltage-up-converter (VUC) to enhance the frequency response of an integrated pin photodiode is presented. With the VUC a voltage of 11 V is generated on the chip without any additional external components. Thus, for a single-supply environment of 5 V the bandwidth of the OEIC is increased from 1.5 to 2.4 GHz. For data rates of 1, 3, 4, and 5 Gb/s at a bit error rate of 10/sup -9/, sensitivities of -29.3, -24.3, -22.9, and -20.5 dBm, respectively, were measured at a wavelength of 660 nm. For the implementation of the OEIC a modified 0.6-/spl mu/m silicon BiCMOS technology with f/sub T/=25 GHz is used.  相似文献

This work reports the study concerning the influence of the preparation conditions on the structure of silicon rich oxide (SRO) deposited by PECVD method by which the structural properties of the film are strictly related. In particular we investigated the role of reactant gases N2O and SiH4 on the total Si concentration, Si excess concentration, Si clustered concentration and size of nanoclusters formed by high annealing temperature. We payed particular attention on the role of the hydrogen and nitrogen during the Si agglomeration.The presence of hydrogen atoms on the as-deposited specimen, confirmed by the Si–H bonds peak on the FTIR analysis, has been directly correlated to the silicon excess concentration in the layer. The silicon, oxygen and nitrogen atomic density has been calculated from RBS analysis. These information were coupled to the ones obtained using methodology based on electron energy loss spectroscopy combined with energy filtered images, which allowed us to quantify the clustered silicon concentration in annealed sub-stoichiometric silicon oxide layers (SiOx). We have verified that the nitrogen dissolved in the layer inhibits the Si excess clustering so that the efficiency of silicon agglomeration process decreases as the nitrogen content increases.  相似文献

Many scheduling techniques have been developed to solve the problem of sharing the common channel to multiple stations. TDMA has been increasingly used as a scheduling technique in ad-hoc networks. The current trend for QoS capable applications led to the deployment of numerous routing schemes that use TDMA. These schemes try to solve the problem of distributing the available slots among the wireless nodes and at the same time, to find paths within the network that fulfill some QoS related limitations, such as end-to-end delay. The exact way the slots are distributed among the transmitting nodes has an impact on the end-to-end delay and other performance parameters of the network, such as capacity. Therefore, the efficiency of the scheduling algorithms is closely related to the network topologies. In this paper, we propose two new end-to-end TDMA scheduling algorithms that try to enhance the network capacity by increasing the number of concurrent connections established in the network, without causing additional end-to-end delay. We study the efficiency of the proposed algorithms, when applied on various random topologies, and compare them in terms of end-to-end delay and network capacity.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to characterize the indoor channel for IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX) at 3.3?C3.6?GHz frequency. This work presents a channel model based on measurements conducted in commonly found scenarios in buildings. These scenarios include closed corridor, wide corridor and semi open corridor. Path loss equations are determined using log-distance path loss model and a Rayleigh multipath induced fading, Normal multipath induced fading or a combination of both. A numerical analysis of measurements in each scenario was conducted and the study determined equations that describe path loss for each scenario. Propagation loss is given for 300?MHz bandwidth. This work also represents the insertion loss of different materials and the obstruction loss due the existence of human beings between the transmitting antenna and the receiving one.  相似文献

There are a growing number of commercially available solar thermal collector types: flat plates, evacuated tubes with and without back reflectors and different tubular spacing or low concentration collectors, using different types of concentrating optics.These different concepts and designs all compete to be more efficient or simply cheaper, easier to operate, etc. at ever higher temperatures, and to extend the use of solar thermal energy in other applications beyond the most common water heating purposes.In view of the proper dimensioning of solar thermal systems and proper comparison of different collector technologies, for a given application, there is a growing need for existing and future simulation tools to be as accurate as possible in the treatment of these different collector types.Collector heat losses are usually considered to be well determined, under variable operating conditions, through the use of the heat loss coefficients provided by efficiency curve parameters. Yet, the traditional approach to the optical efficiency fails to describe accurately the optical effects affecting the amount of radiation which actually reaches the absorber.This paper develops a systematic approach to the proper handling of incident solar radiation, folding that with the information available from tests for determination of collector efficiency curve (steady-state) and the way the optics of different collector types uses incident solar radiation and transforms it into useful heat.  相似文献

Precise, reliable, and remote measurement of dissolved oxygen in aqueous media is of great importance for many industrial, environmental, and biological applications. In particular, photoelectrochemical sensors working in differential mode have recently demonstrated promising properties, in terms of stability, sensitivity, and application potential. Here, a new approach is presented, combining visible light sensitivity, efficient photocurrent generation, and solution‐processed fabrication methods of conjugated polymers, with charge carriers selectivity, energetic alignment favorable to efficient interfacial charge transfer and high surface area achievable by using metal oxide nanostructures. Extensive characterization and optimization of the hybrid organic/inorganic system are carried out, leading to the realization of an oxygen sensor device, based on nanostructured palladium oxide/poly[(9,9‐dioctylfluorenyl‐2,7‐diyl)‐alt‐5,5‐(4′,7′‐di‐2‐thienyl‐2′,1′,3′‐benzothiadiazole]/[6,6]phenyl‐C61‐butyric acid methyl ester (PdO/APFO‐3:PCBM) as materials of choice. State‐of‐the‐art sensitivity, amounting at ?5.87 μA cm?2 ppm?1, low background signal, in the order of ?4.85 μA cm?2, good electrochemical stability for more than 2 h of continuous functioning and high reproducibility of the signal over the pH 1 to 10 range, are reported, making the hybrid device suitable for several practical uses. The results fully validate the mixed organic/inorganic approach for photoelectrochemical applications, and pave the way for its further exploitation in fields like waste water treatment, environmental monitoring, and water splitting.  相似文献
