We implement a proposed method for noise-immune phase unwrapping through the calculation of what may be called wrap regions. The theory of this method is reformulated and discussed with regard to random wrapping, a phenomenon that occurs with diffusely reflecting objects if the optical phase change caused by a deformation is calculated by subtraction of the phases calculated before and after the deformation. Two methods of eliminating random wrapping are presented. The algorithm for phase unwrapping is described, and experimental results are presented.  相似文献

Confining damaged concrete columns using fibre-reinforced concrete (FRP) has proven to be effective in restoring strength and ductility. However, extensive experimental tests are generally required to fully understand the behaviour of such columns. This paper proposes the artificial neural networks (ANNs) models to simulate the FRP-repaired concrete subjected to pre-damaged loading. The models were developed based on two databases which contained the experimental results of 102 and 68 specimens for restored strength and strain, respectively. The proposed models agreed well with testing data with a general correlation factor of more than 97%. Subsequently, simplified equations in designing the restored strength and strain of FRP-repaired columns were proposed based on the trained ANN models. The proposed equations are simple but reasonably accurate and could be used directly in the design of such columns. The accuracy of the proposed equations is due to the incorporation of most affecting factors such as pre-damaged level, concrete compressive strength, confining pressure and ultimate confined concrete strength.

Fibers are increasingly in demand for a wide range of polymer composite materials. This study's purpose was the development of oil palm fiber (OPF) mixed with the thermoplastic material acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) as a composite filament for fused deposition modeling (FDM). The mechanical properties of this composite filament were then analyzed. OPF is a fiber extracted from empty fruit bunches, which has proved to be an excellent raw material for biocomposites. The cellulose content of OPF is 43%-65%, and the lignin content is 13%-25%. The composite filament consists of OPF (5%, mass fraction) in the ABS matrix. The fabrication procedure included alkalinizing, drying, and crushing the OPF to develop the composite. The OPF/ABS materials were prepared and completely blended to acquire a mix of 250 g of the material for the composition. Next, the FLD25 filament extrusion machine was used to form the OPF/ABS composite into a wire. This composite filament then was used in an FDM-based 3D printer to print the specimens. Finally, the printed specimens were tested for mechanical properties such as tensile and flexural strength. The results show that the presence of OPF had increased the tensile strength and modulus elasticity by approximately 1.9% and 1.05%, respectively. However, the flexural strength of the OPF/ABS composite had decreased by 90.6% compared with the virgin ABS. In this article, a novel approach is presented for the preparation of small band‐gap polymer composites. The intensity of the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak increased from 0.64 to 3.2 for the chitosan–silver nitrate sample containing 1 wt % titanium dioxide (TiO2). In the cases of 3 and 5 wt % added TiO2 particles, the SPR peak disappeared. A wide shift of the absorption coefficient from 4.36 to 0.93 eV was observed. The smallest optical band gap of about 0.98 eV was achieved for the sample containing 3 wt % TiO2 filler. The wide shift in the optical band gap was interpreted on the bases of the formation of metal‐induced gap states between the metallic silver particles and the TiO2 structure. A novel approach was achieved that was an alternative method to Tauc's semi‐empirical model for band‐gap estimation. The optical dielectric loss parameter for the band‐gap study was easily calculated and analyzed, whereas it unfolded a deep knowledge from the physics point of view. The established quantum mechanical expression revealed a strong relationship between the energy band gap and the optical dielectric loss parameter. The scanning electron microscopy results show the leakage of white aggregated silver particles and distinguishable intense peaks of metallic silver particles between 3 and 3.3 keV appearing in the energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectrum. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ABSTRACT

Nonlinear, large inertia with long dead time is always associated with the main steam temperature parameter in coal fired power plant. Successful control of the main steam temperature within ±2°C of its setpoint is the ultimate target for coal-fired power plant operators. Two of the most common main steam temperature circuit are primary superheater spray and secondary superheater spray. Various methods were used to model the primary superheater spray control valve opening, and the neural network remains one of the most popular choices among researchers. It remains inconclusive which neural network algorithm types, setup, number of layers, and training algorithm will give the best result. As such, the paper shows the best setup for the neural network algorithm based on sensitivity analysis methodology for one hidden layer. The inputs selected for the neural network are generator output, main steam flow, total spray flow, and secondary superheater outlet steam temperature, while the output selected is primary spray flow control valve opening.  相似文献

Leydig cell function in mice lacking connexin43   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Connexin43 (Cx43) is the most abundantly expressed member of the connexin (gap junction protein) family and the only one so far identified in mouse Leydig cell gap junctions. Mice lacking Cx43 were used to investigate its role in testicular androgen production and regulation. Testes from term fetuses were grafted under the kidney capsules of castrated adult males. After 3 weeks, serum from host mice was analyzed for androgens. In order to test their response to stimulation, the grafted testes were incubated in vitro with varying concentrations of LH and their androgen end products analyzed. Incubation with radiolabeled progesterone was followed by high performance liquid chromatography to quantify the androgen-intermediate metabolites. Radiolabeled testosterone in the presence of NADPH was used to determine the activity of testosterone-metabolizing enzymes 17beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (17betaHSD), 5alpha-reductase (5alphaR), and 3alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3alpha HSD). Serum androgen levels did not differ between hosts carrying wild-type versus null mutant grafts although Cx43-deficient testes had more 17betaHSD and 5alphaR activity than wild-type controls. Furthermore, the genotype of grafted testes did not influence LH-stimulated androgen production in vitro. These results indicate that the steroidogenic function of Leydig cells is not compromised by the absence of Cx43, perhaps because other gap junction proteins are present. Dye transfer experiments demonstrated that Cx43-deficient Leydig cells retain intercellular coupling, indicating that Cx43 is not the only protein contributing to their gap junctions. Thus, despite their prominence in Leydig cells, Cx43 gap junctions are not essential for androgen production.  相似文献

An entire new genus of “polymer therapeutics” has emerged with wide applicability, including as mechanical supports, mechanical barriers, artificial tissue/organs, and pro-drug preparations with pharmacological effects. Polysaccharides are a class of biopolymers formed from many monosaccharide units joined together by glycosidic linkages. The physical properties of carbohydrates, such as solubility, gelation, and surface properties, are dictated by the monosaccharide composition, chain shapes, and molecular weight. These macromolecules exhibit good hemocompatibility, are non-toxic, and show unique biological functions, ranging from cell signaling to immune recognition. With few exceptions, they are more economical in comparison with others biopolymers. Polysaccharide-based polymers have been widely proposed as scaffold materials in tissue engineering applications as well as carriers for drug delivery.  相似文献

The performance of three wheat varieties (Inqilab-91, Punjab-96, Pasban-90) was investigated in open-top chambers with charcoal-filtered air (FA), unfiltered air (UFA) and unchambered field plots (AA) during the 2003-2004 season at a semi-urban site in Lahore, Pakistan. The 8-h daily mean O(3), NO(2) and SO(2) concentrations in UFA and AA remained 72, 28 and 15 ppb, respectively. Plants grown in UFA and AA showed stunted growth and accelerated rate of leaf senescence with pronounced reductions in stomatal conductance (7-24%), net photosynthetic rate (20-22%) and photosynthetic efficiency (9-17%) compared with FA plants. A mid-season harvest of 10-week-old plants revealed reduced plant fresh (14-37%) and dry weights (15-43) in UFA compared to FA counterparts. Grain yield recorded after a full season of growth was drastically reduced in UFA with 43% for Pasban-90, 39% for Punjab-91 and 18% for Inqilab-91 compared with FA control plants. Nutritional quality of seeds was also significantly reduced in UFA and AA with respect to starch, but not in protein and vitamin-E contents when compared with FA plants. This investigation carried out in a major developing country of southeast Asia has shown alarming effects of atmospheric pollutants on both yield and nutritional quality of an important cereal crop that needs urgent attention to maintain the agricultural systems with parallel efforts to reduce the emissions in the region.  相似文献

The objective of the present investigation was to formulate curcumin loaded fish scale collagen (FSC)-hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC K100) nanogel (CNG) for wound healing application. The curcumin nanoemulsion was prepared, characterized and loaded in FSC-HPMC nanogel. The nanogel was evaluated for ex-vivo permeation, in-vivo, skin irritation, and stability study. Ex-vivo permeation study demonstrated that CNG prolonged release and exhibited higher percent contraction value of wound compared to other formulations. In skin irritation study, formulation produced the score of less than 2 compared to control. It concluded that curcumin loaded FSC-HPMC nanogel could be prepared for wound healing applications.  相似文献
