We investigated the relationship between dietary highly hydrogenated soybean oil (HSO) and cholesterol transport in rats. In the first study, to examine the effects of cholesterol transport of different concentrations of HSO in dietary oil, rats were given one of the three diets containing 0, 25, or 50% HSO in dietary oil with cholesterol (5 g/kg diet) or a diet without HSO and cholesterol for 22 d. Feeding the high concentration of HSO prevented the increase in plasma total cholesterol, hepatic total lipids, and cholesterol and the decrease in high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, which were caused by dietary cholesterol. Moreover, HSO increased the fecal excretion, fecal lipids, and steroids in a dose-dependent manner. In the second study, to examine the effects on cholesterol transport of redistribution of stearic acid in the triacylglycerol species contained in HSO, rats were given one of the six diets containing HSO (distearoylmonoacylglycerol and tristearoylglycerol)-rich, monostearoylglycerol-rich, or palmitic acid-rich oil with/without cholesterol (5 g/kg diet), for 30 d. Whereas the accumulation of cholesterol in the body was reduced, cholesterol excretion was enhanced effectively in rats given the HSO-rich diet compared with rats given the monostearoylglycerol-rich diet. These results suggested that not only the high concentration of stearic acid but also its uneven distribution in HSO-triacylglycerol contributed to the reduction in intestinal cholesterol absorption in rats.  相似文献

Enhancement of electrochemical capacitance and morphological variations of various acetylene blacks caused by electrochemical polarization are presented. Acetylene blacks of different mean particle diameters were modified by air-oxidation and heat treatment to diversify the morphologies of the acetylene blacks before electrochemical polarization. The various acetylene blacks were electrochemically oxidized at 1.6 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) for 10 s and the polarization step was repeated until the capacitance values did not change any longer. These polarization steps enhanced the capacitances of the acetylene blacks and the specific enhancement factors range from 2 to 5.5. Such an enhancement is strongly related to morphological modification as revealed by transmission electron microscopic observations. The electrochemical polarization resulted in formation of tiny graphene sheets on the wide graphitic carbon surfaces, which were most responsible for the observed capacitive enhancement. Although the pseudo-capacitance increased after polarization by forming oxygenated species on the surfaces, its contribution to the total capacitance was less than 10%. The mechanism of the formation of the tiny graphene sheets during the electrochemical oxidation is described schematically.  相似文献

Members of the bacterial genus Bdellovibrio include strains that are free-living whereas others are known to invade and parasitize larger Gram-negative bacteria. The bacterium can synthesize several sphingophospholipid compounds including those with phosphoryl bonds as well as phosphonyl bonds. In the present study, the dominant sphingophosphonolipid component was isolated by column chromatography, and the long-chain bases, fatty acids, and polar head groups were identified by thin-layer and gas-liquid chromatographic procedures. The definitive structural identity of the sphingolipid was established by nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry of hydrolysis products and the intact compound. The compound was identified as N-2′-hydroxypentadecanoyl-2-amino-3,4-dihydroxyheptadecan-1-phosphono-(1-hydroxy-2-aminoethane).  相似文献

This study was designed to examine how teachers in Fukushima Prefecture have shaped radiation education and gained consensus on radiation-related issues since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. We interviewed teachers and external experts who have been conducting radiation education since the nuclear accident,ascertaining their focus in introducing and implementing radiation education and the lessons they have learned. We then qualitatively analyzed the results. There was no practical radiation course of study (Shido Yoryo) to follow immediately after the disaster,so teachers individually devised curricula according to the developmental stages of their students. Their aims were to (1) tailor lesson structure to the students’ anxieties and distress,(2) promote students’ activities through knowledge and linkage to their daily lives via radiation measurements and disaster site visits,and (3) enable the students to self-educate and to take informed decision. These objectives required the implementation of continuous,multidisciplinary radiation education to enable the students to understand the impacts of the nuclear accident and enhance the resilience of children growing up in Fukushima,allowing them to overpass the rumor and stigma and to adopt adequate protective measures to face the remaining radiation in their environment. As nearly 10 years has passed since the accident,radiation education at schools has reached a turning point. While social interest in radiation education is waning,it is hard to say that adequate radiation knowledge has taken root among students,and therefore it is necessary to consider how radiation education should be delivered in the future. This paper shows that the majority of fuzzy inference methods for a fuzzy conditional proposition “If x is A then y is B,” with A and B fuzzy concepts, can infer very reasonable consequences which fit our intuition with respect to several criteria such as modus ponens and modus tollens, if a new composition called “max-⊙ composition” is used in the compositional rule of inference, though reasonable consequences cannot always be obtained when using the max-min composition, which is used usually in the compositional rule of inference. Furthermore, it is shown that a syllogism holds for the majority of the methods under the max-⊙ composition, though they do not always satisfy the syllogism under the max-min composition.  相似文献

A method of developing strategic CIM is described. Relationship between CIM and firm's competitive power is clarified, and a fundamental planning procedure for CIM is developed for enhancing the competitiveness. In the procedure, the system configuration of CIM is analyzed using 0–1 goal programming techniques. A numerical example is also demonstrated to show the effectiveness of the procedure.  相似文献

The authors' personal-relational equilibrium model suggests that people come to seek equilibrium in their dedication to personal and relational concerns in that these 2 important needs cannot always be gratified simultaneously. The authors proposed that the experience of personal-relational disequilibrium motivates attempts to restore equilibrium and that achieving equilibrium promotes life satisfaction. Four studies revealed good support for the model. In Study 1, a manipulation of anticipated future disequilibrium (vs. equilibrium) as a result of overdedication to either the personal or relational domain caused reduced motivation to address concerns in that domain and increased motivation toward the complementary domain. In Study 2, narratives describing disequilibrium experiences (vs. equilibrium experiences) exhibited increased motivation to restore equilibrium and reduced life satisfaction. In Study 3, diary reports of everyday disequilibrium were associated with increased same-day motivation to restore equilibrium, reduced same-day life satisfaction, and increased next-day dedication of effort to the complementary domain. In Study 4, experiences of disequilibrium predicted reduced well-being 6 months later. Collectively, these findings extend knowledge of how people regulate themselves toward equilibrium in pursuing 2 fundamental human concerns. Complementary approaches examined the relations among executive self, self-esteem, and negative affectivity. A cross-sectional (N = 4,242) and a longitudinal (N = 158) study established that self-esteem mediated the relation between executive self and negative affectivity. A 3rd study (N = 878 twin pairs) replicated this pattern and examined genetic and environmental influences underlying all 3 phenotypes. Covariation among the 3 phenotypes reflected largely common genetic influences, although unique genetic effects explained variability in both executive self and negative affectivity. Executive self was influenced by shared environmental influences unique from those affecting self-esteem and negative affectivity. Nonshared environmental influences accounted for the majority of variance in each construct and were primarily unique to each. The unique genetic and nonshared environmental influences support the proposition that the executive self, self-esteem, and negative affectivity capture distinct and important differences between people. The formation and the phase transitions of iron silicide by solid-phase epitaxy have been investigated by means of plan-view transmission electron microscopy, which enables us to observe a clean interface between Fe and Si. Layers of Fe were deposited on Si (100) at room temperature in an ultrahigh vacuum chamber. The sample was annealed in the electron microscope at a temperature between 673 and 1073 K. After annealing at 673 K, FeSi crystallites were formed with various orientations. When the annealing temperature was increased to 973 K, we found that the crystallites suddenly started to coalesce into grains of several hundreds of nanometers in size and polycrystalline beta-FeSi2 was formed. These phase transitions were also confirmed with electron energy-loss spectroscopy.  相似文献
