It has been said that nuclear energy is an important option for especially developing countries to satisfy their increasing energy demand. However, it will be difficult to deploy first of a kind nuclear power plant in developing countries because extensive safety demonstration has to be conducted in industrialized countries. On the other hand, it will be essential to present rigid proof of reliable operational experience to develop proper understanding of the safety features of new reactor systems among the people around the demonstration plant sites. One of the ways to solve the issue is to integrate existing technologies supported by a great deal of data and experience into a new reactor design. Based on the consideration, a small-sized district heating reactor system based on the pressurized water reactor (PWR) technologies combined with the fuel concept of high temperature gas cooled reactors (HTGRs) has been studied. The purpose of the combination of these two existing concepts is to take the best advantages of both excellent operational experience of PWRs and the integrity of HTGR fuel, coated particle fuel, against fission products release even at high temperature. We expect that this approach will help create a breakthrough to the current stagnation of nuclear power deployment.  相似文献

Our subjects comprised eighty six diabetes mellitus (DM) patients without severe complication. To evaluate gastrointestinal motility quantitatively, we measured gastric emptying time by acetaminophen (APAP) method using serum APAP value and oro-cecal transit time (OCTT) by lactulose hydrogen breath test in the subjects and normal controls (NC). Comparing DM patients and NC, mean APAP value was lower and mean OCTT was prolonged in the former. Analysing DM patients' background, patients with peripheral neuropathy had prolonged OCTT than patients without neuropathy did. Comparing patients with higher HbA1c levels and patients with normal HbA1c levels, mean APAP value, which was closer to normal levels, was higher in the former. Analysing symptoms, some of them were apparently related to abnormal gastrointestinal motility. From these results, it was concluded that measuring both gastric emptying and OCTT was a useful method to evaluate slight abnormal motility in DM patients.  相似文献

A system of numerical flow simulation with an automated mesh generator and parallelized solver was developed and applied to the flow-field inside an optical disc drive. In this simulation system, a uniformly spaced Cartesian grid is used to reduce time and automatically generate a mesh from CAD data for complicated geometries, such as optical disc drives. The simulation results of optical disc drives are validated by particle image velocimetry (PIV) and pressure-distribution measurements. The measured velocity distributions above a rotating disc and around a pick-up unit show quantitative agreement with the simulated distributions. For the pressure distributions on a top case of an optical disc drive, although there is an error of 10% between simulated and measured results, the position of the peaks and distribution of pressure show good agreement. Comparing both sets of measurements, the simulation results in a Cartesian grid system are sufficiently accurate to enable the flow-field to be quantitatively assessed. This numerical flow simulation is applied to investigate the detailed flow-field in a commercial optical disc drive.  相似文献

For the most representative example of transport machinery, it is highly likely that a variety of aluminium materials will be used for automobile bodies. Ceramide (Cer) plays an important role in skin barrier functions in the stratum corneum (SC). The ingestion of food-derived glucosylceramides (GlcCer) attenuates transepidermal water loss (TEWL). However, the moisturizing effects of single molecules of GlcCer and Cer remain unclear. Therefore, we herein purified 13 GlcCer and 6 Cer, including elasticamide, which has the same structure as human Cer[AP], from rice and compared their epidermal moisturizing effects in a reconstructed human epidermal keratinization model. The results obtained showed that 10 µM of 5 GlcCer[d18:2] with a 4E,8Z sphingadienine and C18 to C26 fatty acids and 10 µg/mL of 3 Cer with C23 or C24 fatty acids significantly reduced TEWL. The moisturizing effects of these GlcCer were dependent on the length of fatty acids. Furthermore, 10 µg/mL of elasticamide increased the SC Cer contents by promoting the expression of GlcCer synthase. Electron microscopic observations revealed that 1 µM of GlcCer[d18:2(4E,8Z)/26:0] increased the number of keratohyalin granules and desmosomes. Immunostaining and Western blotting indicated that 1 µM of GlcCer[d18:2(4E,8Z)/26:0] up-regulated the expression of filaggrin and corneodesmosin, which contribute to epidermal hydration. This comparative study on epidermal moisturization by GlcCer and Cer isolated from rice revealed differences in their hydration mechanisms.  相似文献

In view of the fact that the visual EEG interpretation could be a subjective task and may vary among the electroencephalographers, the main objective of this study was to develop an automatic EEG interpretation system which is adaptable to each electroencephalographer. The system adapted to each electroencephalographer would bring a close automatic EEG interpretation to that done by the electroencephalographer's visual interpretation. The adaptable automatic EEG interpretation was accomplished by using the constructive neural network with forgetting factor. The artificial neural network was constructed so as to give the integrative interpretation of the EEG based on the intermediate judgment of 13 items that characterized the visual interpretation. The developed method was evaluated based on the visually inspected EEG data of 37 patients by electroencephalographer‐A and the data of 20 patients by electroencephalographer‐B. The adapted ANN showed good agreement with each electroencephalographer's visual inspection. The proposed automatic EEG interpretation by use of the ANN can be a powerful assistant tool for individual electroencephalographers for their EEG interpretation. This paper is to investigate and to propose a method to improve the impact resistance of reinforced concrete (RC) plates against projectile impact, and the damage of double-layered RC plates is examined experimentally and simulated analytically. In tests, a projectile launching apparatus, which is a 40 mm smooth-bore airgun, was used. Based on experimental results, numerical simulations with the DYNA-3D code, which takes account of the dynamic constitutive law of concrete, were done to find the applicability of the present computer code to the analysis of double-layered RC plates under high-speed impact loadings. In this study, the impact resistance of concrete plate is defined as the degree of local damage. In both experiments and numerical simulations, the effect of double-layering on the impact resistance is discussed.  相似文献
