The purpose of this research was to study the thermal degradation kinetics of nanocomposites of poly(l ‐lactide) (PLLA) with carbon nanotubes (CNT) in order to provide further insight into their thermal stability. Nanocomposites were prepared by solvent casting with 1, 3, and 5% by weight of pristine CNT (P‐CNT) or functionalized CNT (F‐CNT), and were characterized using infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, and dynamic‐mechanical‐thermal analysis. The kinetic parameters of thermal decomposition were determined employing Coats‐Redfern method to calculate the reaction order and E2 function model to calculate the activation energy (Ea). We found no major changes in PLLA glass transition temperatures due to CNT presence, but melt‐crystallization temperature increased slightly in some composites. In general, composites consisting of 3% or 5% of F‐CNT had superior thermal stability than did pure polymer or P‐CNT composites. This improved thermal stability was revealed by slightly higher degradation and onset temperatures, and Ea obtained from kinetic analysis. In addition, 3% or 5% of F‐CNT in PLLA composites slightly enhanced the storage modulus above the glass transition. Therefore, functionalization promoted, in some extent, better morphology and dispersion of CNT into the matrix, which was responsible for improved thermal stability and thermomechanical performance of composites at higher temperatures relative to pure polymer. The present work deals with reverse engineering on four rubber formulations. Information about the material composition of the compounding formulations was obtained by using techniques such as acetone extract, thermogravimetric analysis, energy dispersive X‐ray fluorescence studies, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy in attenuated total reflection mode. The reverse engineered formulations were compared on a qualitative and quantitative basis with the initial formulations. The aim was to ascertain the validity of the methodology, which may be used as reverse engineering of rubber compounds to quantitatively analyze unknown ground tire rubber in future. The state of the art was based on a fractional mass transfer from acetone extract to the rubbers detected in TGA. Through this new approach, the formulations calculated were very consistent with the formulations employed, thus establishing the validity of the methodology used. POLYM. ENG. Alkaline esterase (carboxylic‐ester hydrolases; EC 3.1.1.1) extracted from germinated soybean seeds (Glycine max) was purified approximately 3.6 times by chromatography in a DEAE‐cellulose anion exchange column and filtration in Sephadex G100 gel. The molecular mass of the enzyme was estimated at 45 kDa by gel electrophoresis (SDS‐PAGE). The purified enzyme showed a specific activity of 5.6 U mg?1 using p‐nitrophenyl butyrate as substrate. The esterase showed optimal activity at 47 °C in moderately alkaline pH, low stability in temperatures higher than 50 °C, and high stability at pH values between 6 and 9.5. The Ca2+ and Co2+ ions proved to have a positive effect on enzyme activity; however, Hg2+ completely inhibited esterase activity. Using p‐nitrophenyl butyrate as substrate, the enzyme showed a Km of 0.39 mM, Vmax of 31.5 mM mg?1 min?1 and kcat 7.60 × 106 s?1. Regarding substrate affinity, the enzyme showed greater activity for substrates containing short‐chain fatty acids, especially p‐nitrophenyl acetate. Such characteristics give the enzyme great potential for application in the production of low molecular weight esters, in the food industry, and in chemical products. This enzyme is another new member of the family of lipases and esterases from vegetable seeds with high activity and stability in alkaline pH.  相似文献

Here, we examine the structural, vibrational, optical, and morphological properties of ZnO particles synthesized by the hydrothermal method, incorporating cadmium at different concentrations through the molar ratio Rm = Cd+2/Zn+2 and a thermal treatment at 500°C. The X‐ray diffraction results demonstrated the high crystallinity of the ZnO compound with a wurtzite‐type hexagonal structure. The Raman scattering spectra demonstrated that the ZnO vibrational modes occur in the region between 200 and 1300 cm?1, which is associated with different vibrational configurations characteristic of the ZnO molecule: E2(Low), E2(M), A1(TO) E1(TO), 2B1(High), E2(High), and TA + LO. The modes that were most affected by the incorporation of Cd2+ were those assigned to 2E2(Low), E2(M), and 2B1(High), and this effect was associated with a greater displacement of Zn2+ ions. The optical study showed a reduction in the band gap and a decrease in the crystalline quality due to the substitution of Cd2+ in the ZnO lattice. Cadmium incorporation affected the morphology of the ZnO:Cd particles, changing the lengths and diameters of the ZnO rods; when the Cd concentration was increased, the ZnO rods shortened, forming coin‐type hexagonal structures.  相似文献

Cajazeira leaves (Spondias mombin) have their highlighted use as antioxidant and natural antimicrobial, which justifies the objective of this work to evaluate the biological activities of different extracts. In order to evaluate the antioxidant and antimicrobial potentials of the cajazeira leaves, extractions at low pressure and high pressure were performed. The low pressure extractions (PLE) were carried out using Soxhlet (SOX) and tip ultrasound, using different solvents. Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) was evaluated at temperature of 40?60°C and pressure of 150?300 bar besides extraction with cosolvent. Higher yields were obtained with the use of more polar solvents at LPE. The extracts obtained by SOX with ethanol and others polar solvents presented the best TPC values and antioxidant activity. The extracts at LPE with hexane and ethyl acetate and SFE presented better antimicrobial activity. Through liquid chromatography of high efficiency, it was possible to identify compounds with recognized biological activity, like ellagic acid, gallic acid and catechin.  相似文献

Myrcia is one of the largest genera of the economically important family Myrtaceae. Some of the species are used in folk medicine, such as a group known as “pedra-hume-caá” or “pedra-ume-caá” or “insulina vegetal” (insulin plant) that it is used for the treatment of diabetes. The species are an important source of essential oils, and most of the chemical studies on Myrcia describe the chemical composition of the essential oils, in which mono- and sesquiterpenes are predominant. The non-volatile compounds isolated from Myrcia are usually flavonoids, tannins, acetophenone derivatives and triterpenes. Anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive, antioxidant, antimicrobial activities have been described to Myrcia essential oils, while hypoglycemic, anti-hemorrhagic and antioxidant activities were attributed to the extracts. Flavonoid glucosides and acetophenone derivatives showed aldose reductase and α-glucosidase inhibition, and could explain the traditional use of Myrcia species to treat diabetes. Antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory are some of the activities observed for other isolated compounds from Myrcia.  相似文献

The study of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) role in tumorigenic processes, and specifically in the liver, has gathered importance in the last few years. Previous studies have shown that BMP9 is overexpressed in about 40% of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. In vitro data have also shown evidence that BMP9 has a pro-tumorigenic action, not only by inducing epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and migration, but also by promoting proliferation and survival in liver cancer cells. However, the precise mechanisms driving these effects have not yet been established. In the present work, we deepened our studies into the intracellular mechanisms implicated in the BMP9 proliferative and pro-survival effect on liver tumor cells. In HepG2 cells, BMP9 induces both Smad and non-Smad signaling cascades, specifically PI3K/AKT and p38MAPK. However, only the p38MAPK pathway contributes to the BMP9 growth-promoting effect on these cells. Using genetic and pharmacological approaches, we demonstrate that p38MAPK activation, although dispensable for the BMP9 proliferative activity, is required for the BMP9 protective effect on serum withdrawal-induced apoptosis. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the signaling pathways involved in the BMP9 pro-tumorigenic role in liver tumor cells.  相似文献
