In this work, a procedure for the determination of mercury and copper in canned tuna samples is presented, based on the extraction of their respective dithizone complexes and quantification by conventional MALDI-TOFMS with the aid of partial least square regression (PLS2). Methanolic dithizone solution (1 ml, 0.01% m/v) containing Ag(I) as internal standard was added to the calibration solutions and to the acid-digested samples (5 ml, pH 3); copper, mercury, and silver complexes were extracted to cyclohexane (1.5 ml), and after evaporation, the residues were re-constituted in acetone (100 μl). The samples were prepared by dried droplet crystallization with α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid. The experimental and MALDI-TOFMS instrument operating conditions were set up under criteria of as high as possible detectability and repeatability. When univariate calibration was carried out using the most intense ion of Cu or Hg complex normalized by internal standard, determination seemed feasible yet precision of the results was poor. Taking baseline-corrected spectra in m/z range 560–725, PLS2 model was constructed for the prediction of two elements with the method quantification limits 63 μg kg?1 for Cu and 75 μg kg?1 for Hg, respectively. For different brands of canned tuna, the results obtained by MALDI-TOFMS combined with PLS2 and by ICP-MS were in good agreement. The proposed procedure is an attractive alternative for the determination of trace metals in foods because of the procedural simplicity, micro-scale dimension, high speed of data acquisition/processing, and the cost of instrument operation lower as compared to any atomic spectrometry technique. 相似文献

This paper studies systematically the effect of a feed frames, a device used in rotary tablet presses to drive the powders into compression dies, on the properties of the powders entering the tablet press dies. The work focused on the effect of blend composition, feed frame parameters (blade speed, residence time), and rotary die disc parameters (die disc speed, die diameter) on the flow pattern, uniformity of die filling, applied shear, and the flow properties of pharmaceutical blends. The flow pattern suggests a stratified filling of the dies and therefore, non-uniform properties of the tablets. The amount of powder entering the dies depended on blend flow properties, feed frame speed, and dies disc speed. In addition, blend properties changed significantly as the powder flowed through the feed frame. The flowability of lubricated blends improved significantly as the number of feed frame blade passes increased, decreasing in turn the RSD of the die filling weight. 相似文献

Is it necessary to replace the tricuspid valve or insert a tricuspid ring for pure tricuspid insufficiency, or is repair satisfactory? In 96 of 113 patients with pure tricuspid insufficiency the tricuspid valve was repaired by converting the incompetent three-leaflet valve into a two-leaflet one. To avoid liver damage in these critically ill patients, the inferior caval tie was omitted during the open-heart procedure. There have been 5 deaths in the last 51 consecutive operations. Three patients developed recurrent tricuspid insufficiency secondary to failure of the mitral repair or replacement. It is concluded that tricuspid repair for pure tricuspid insufficiency is a simple and excellent method for treating severe, pure tricuspid insufficiency. 相似文献

The aim of this paper is to deal with multi-physics simulation of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) based on an advanced numerical methodology. MEMS are very small devices in which electric as well as mechanical and fluid phenomena appear and interact. Because of their microscopic scale, strong coupling effects arise between the different physical fields, and some forces, which were negligible at macroscopic scale, have to be taken into account. In order to accurately design such micro-electro-mechanical systems, it is of primary importance to be able to handle the strong coupling between the electric and the mechanical fields. In this paper, the finite element method (FEM) is used to model the strong coupled electro-mechanical interactions and to perform static and transient analyses taking into account large mesh displacements. We study the distributed low tree-depth decomposition problem for graphs restricted to a bounded expansion class. Low tree-depth decomposition have been introduced in 2006 and have found quite a few applications. For example it yields a linear-time model checking algorithm for graphs in a bounded expansion class. Recall that bounded expansion classes cover classes of graphs of bounded degree, of planar graphs, of graphs of bounded genus, of graphs of bounded treewidth, of graphs that exclude a fixed minor, and many other graphs. There is a sequential algorithm to compute low tree-depth decomposition (with bounded number of colors) in linear time. In this paper, we give the first efficient distributed algorithm for this problem. As it is usual for a symmetry breaking problem, we consider a synchronous model, and as we are interested in a deterministic algorithm, we use the usual assumption that each vertex has a distinct identity number. We consider the distributed message-passing \(\mathcal {CONGEST}_\mathrm{BC}\) model, in which messages have logarithmic length and only local broadcast are allowed. In this model, we present a logarithmic time distributed algorithm for computing a low tree-depth decomposition of graphs in a fixed bounded expansion class. In the sequential centralized case low tree-depth decomposition linear time algorithm are used as a core procedure in several non-trivial linear time algorithms. We believe that, similarly, low tree-depth decomposition could be at the heart of several non-trivial logarithmic time algorithms. 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To determine the effects of an immune-enhancing experimental diet (XD = supplemental arginine, trace elements, and increased omega-3 fatty acids) versus standard diet (SD), on immune cell function and clinical outcome of critically injured patients. DESIGN: Prospective randomized clinical trial of patients admitted to the surgical intensive care unit after trauma (Injury Severity Score > 13). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients received early enteral nutrition with either XD or SD for a minimum of 5 days. MEASUREMENTS: Mortality, intensive care unit, ventilator, and hospital days, as well as incidence of adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and infectious complications were recorded. Nutritional parameters were also studied. Peripheral blood leukocytes were isolated from normal volunteers and from patients on days 1, 6, and 10 of feeding. MAIN RESULTS: Demographics and injury severity were similar in both groups. Both SD (n = 21) and XD (n = 22) groups revealed depressed monocyte function (tumor necrosis factor, prostaglandin E2, and procoagulant activity) on day 1 compared with a reference group (p < 0.05). However, monocytes from XD patients began to "normalize" their response (tumor necrosis factor, prostaglandin E2, and procoagulant activity) by day 6. Although ARDS occurred more frequently in the XD group (45 vs. 19%), the majority of ARDS in both groups occurred very early, with only three patients in the XD (13.6%) and one patient in the SD (4.7%) groups developing ARDS after study entry. XD patients remained on the ventilator longer (16.4 vs. 9.7 days) and in the hospital longer (32.9 vs. 22 days) compared with the SD group, but overall mortality was nearly identical (4.5 vs. 5%). CONCLUSION: The exact role and timing for diets with immune-enhancing effects has yet to be defined. 相似文献

The situation is further exacerbated by the number of connected devices growing exponentially. As a result, security and privacy has emerged as a significant challenge for the IoT. In this paper, we aim to provide a thorough survey on IoT security and privacy challenges from the perspective of technologies and architecture used. This work focuses on IoT intrinsic vulnerabilities and their implications to the fundamental information security challenges in confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
