The electron effective mass in InuGa1−uPvAs1−v has been measured on seven samples lattice-matched to InP and evenly spaced in values of v between 0 and 1, using the temperature dependence of the amplitude of the Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations at high magnetic fields. Values of the carrier concentrations, Hall mobilities and Dingle temperatures measured on these samples are also reported. An atypical case of chronic equine bronchopulmonary aspergillosis with an unusual hyphal morphology was diagnosed in a horse with Cushing's syndrome. Because of the hyphal localization in chronic ectatic bronchi and bronchioles, and juxtabronchiolar processes, the observed type of aspergillosis is similar to 'saprophytic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis' or 'semi-invasive pulmonary aspergillosis' in humans. The aetiological diagnosis of aspergillosis was accomplished by the application of a panel of monospecific polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies in immunohistochemical techniques.  相似文献

Ribonucleic acid (RNA) metabolism of the normal and copper-treated ( Cu-T200 IUD) human endometrium was investigated. The relative concentration of total, messenger, ribosomal and transfer RNA was measured in normal and Cu-treated endometrium using the technique of affinity chromatography in polysepharose. The transition from the proli ferative to the secretory endometrium in normal women was accompanied by significant increases (p less than .05) in total RNA, messenger RNA and in ribosomal RNA. The relative proportions of bound and free messenger RNA were also modified by endometrial maturation changing from 70% bound messenger RNA in the proliferative to 83% in the secretory phase. Cu-T200 Cu release appeared to particularly affect RNA metabolism in the secretory phase. During the proliferative phase only the concentration of transfer RNA and the proportion of bound to free messenger RNA were modified by the Cu-T200. The Cu-T200 induced significant decreases (p less than .01 and p less than .05) in all RNA parameters, with the exception of the RNA/deoxyribonucleic acid ratio.  相似文献

This paper aims to evaluate part-load operation of a natural gas combined cycle (NGCC) power plant with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a CO2 capture plant. Several studies have demonstrated the feasibility and the advantages of EGR at full load, but operation at part load is also important because it is a common condition when NGCC power plants are being used as backup for renewables. The results of this study show that the number of absorber trains is reduced from 4 to 3 with EGR. The efficiency of the NGCC plant with EGR was 0.5% points higher than a conventional NGCC at full load as a result of a higher CO2 concentration in the flue gas. However, this efficiency advantage decreased as the load was reduced from 100% to 50%, with both cases presenting the same efficiency at 50% load. This means that there was no benefit from the effect of EGR at lower loads. The efficiency of a NGCC plant with EGR and CO2 capture configuration decreased from 52.6% to 45.9% when the load was reduced from 100% to 50% compared with a conventional NGCC where the efficiency changed from 52.1% to 45.9%. It was concluded that a NGCC plant with EGR and CO2 capture is viable, results in lower capital costs due to the smaller number of absorber trains and yields slightly higher efficiencies, for operation at part-load down to 50%.  相似文献

Herein a method is described to prepare photocurable thermally-conductive shape memory epoxy/ graphene composites. By photopolymerizing the epoxy resin diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A with an allyl-functionalized ditertiary amine as the curing agent, jointly with a multifunctional thiol, a crosslinked polyether-polythioether co-network was obtained. The presence of a soft domain like the flexible polythioethers enable the co-network to display shape memory properties. By varying the polyether to polythioether ratio it was possible to modulate the shape memory characteristics of the composite. The effect of the concentration of graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) in the composite was also investigated. Shape memory performances revealed excellent values of shape recovery and shape fixity with maximums of 98 and 99% respectively. The temporary- shaped composites with higher concentration of polythioethers and GNP regained their permanent shapes in 2–3 s when heated above the programming temperature. The thermal conductivity in the composites reached 0.39 W/m°K for the composite with 15% w/w of GNP. The presence of the polythioethers in the co-network enhanced the toughness of the composite as revealed by the impact resistance analysis.  相似文献

The fatigue behaviour of a nodular cast iron containing casting defects has been investigated in the high-cycle fatigue regime. In this paper, we propose a fatigue life assessment model for flawed materials based on a fracture mechanics approach which takes into account the position and size of the defect, short crack behaviour and the notch effect introduced by the defect. The fatigue behaviour of smooth samples, and long and short crack behaviour have been experimentally determined in order to identify the relevant mechanical parameters; these being introduced into the model. An experimental study has been made both in air and in vacuum in order to account for the position of the defect, noting that internal defects are supposed to be under vacuum conditions. Experimental results, which are based on a two-crack front-marking technique specially developed for this study, show that the propagation of natural cracks is controlled by the effective stress intensity factor in air as well as in vacuum. The K calculation for a short crack in the stress field of a notch is analysed using numerical elastic–plastic results. Comparison between experimental results and the computation of fatigue life for fatigue lives less than 106 cycles shows that the fatigue behaviour of nodular cast iron is controlled by a propagation process. The model proposed is thus relevant for fatigue lives less than 106 cycles so that the defect can be considered as a crack and the initiation stage neglected. Closer to the fatigue limit, this study shows that the initiation stage should be considered in the assessment of fatigue life of nodular cast iron, because a single macroscopic propagation assessment is not enough to describe the whole fatigue life. The defect cannot be considered as a pre-existent crack in the high-cycle fatigue range (>106 cycles), and the initiation stage that contains microcrack propagation around the defect should be evaluated when assessing the high-cycle fatigue life of nodular cast iron.  相似文献

The influence of cultivar on responses of strawberry fruit to 20 kPa CO2 or air storage at 2 °C was measured for 7 days. CO2 storage increased firmness of all cultivars over air storage, but the degree of increase was affected by cultivar and days in storage. CO2‐treated fruit were lighter colored and less intensely red than air‐treated fruit. Accumulations of acetaldehyde, ethanol and ethyl acetate in CO2‐treated fruit were strongly affected by cultivar, with those in ‘Annapolis’ having the lowest and those in ‘Governor Simcoe’ having the highest concentrations. Genetic variation in this response provides useful material for investigating the metabolic basis of CO2 effects in strawberry fruit. © 1999 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Formation of slip bands plays an important role in deformation and fatigue processes of duplex Ti–6Al–4V. In this study, shear-enhanced crystal plasticity constitutive relations are proposed to account for the slip softening due to breakdown of the short-range order between titanium and aluminum atoms. A hybrid strategy is developed which allows the softening to occur in slip bands only within the primary α phase, with the degree of localization depending on the specific polycrystalline initial-boundary-value problem and the requirements for compatibility of each grain or phase with its neighbors. The proposed model is calibrated by performing finite-element (FE) simulations on an experimentally studied Ti–6Al–4V alloy. The slip behavior of a Ti–6Al–4V sample subjected to an in situ (scanning electron microscopy (SEM)) tensile test is investigated. A two-dimensional (2-D) FE with 3-D crystal plasticity relations is constructed to represent the microstructure of the Ti–6Al–4V sample. Due to the lack of access to fully 3-D microstructure, a generalized plane-strain condition is used in the FE model which assumes columnar grains that are free of net traction in the direction normal to the surface. The assumption of columnar grains significantly reduces the computational cost. The contours of effective plastic strain are compared with the surface SEM micrographs from experiments at various strain levels. It is shown that the proposed approach for modeling slip bands qualitatively captures experimentally observed slip band behavior.  相似文献
