The authors report two cases of multicentric osteolytic lesions in the occipital bone without any history of head trauma. The excisional biopsy of the first case revealed that the lesion was multicentric but a continuous cavity with the subarachnoid space through various sizes of dural defect, and the cavities were covered by arachnoid lining. Together with the previously reported similar 5 cases, the characteristic common feature is multicentric osteolytic lesions in the occipital bone at advanced age without marginal sclerosis. "The cluster of arachnoid diverticula in the occipital bone (CADOB)" is probably the most appropriate term for these non-traumatic lesions with the following characteristics: elderly patients, occipital bone, midline, multiple, intact outer table, nonsclerotic margin and without history of trauma. Operation may not be indicated because of its non-progressive and benign nature.  相似文献

In order to investigate the overall atomic hydrogen background and the dynamic characteristics of wall pumping/fuelling phenomenon, a permeation probe system has been developed and applied in the spherical tokamak QUEST. Reliability of measurements, within ±3% accuracy and a positive correlation with the hydrogen line emission over three orders of magnitude have been demonstrated for more than 3000 various plasma discharges. By comparison of the experimental permeation (flux) curves with the numerically simulated curves, the net incident atomic hydrogen flux is evaluated in the range of 1 × 1019 H m?2 s?1 to 4 × 1020 H m?2 s?1. The atomic flux has been investigated as a function of various plasma operation parameters like RF power, gas pressure and magnetic configuration. Using the static particle balance and permeation measurements, the progress in wall conditioning has been investigated. An inverse correlation between the atomic hydrogen flux and improvement in wall pumping has been observed over the two campaigns.  相似文献

We have measured the electrical resistivities and magnetoresistances (MR) of (EDT-DSDTFVO)2X (X=FeCl4, GaCl4), where EDT-DSDTFVO stands for ethylenedithiodiselenadithiafulvalenothioquinone-1,3-dithiolemethide. These materials undergo gradual metal-insulator transitions at Tmin=52 K for FeCl4-salt and Tmin=30 K for GaCl4-salt, respectively. In spite of the similarity of the temperature dependence of the resistivity and its pressure effect, MR of both salts exhibit a clear contrast, i.e. FeCl4-salt shows negative and GaCl4, positive. Origin of the difference in the sign of MR between these salts are discussed in terms of the existence of π-d interaction.  相似文献

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic pruritic skin disease with a complex pathogenesis underlying its heterogeneous clinical phenotypes and endotypes. The skin manifestation of AD reflects the cytokine milieu of a type-2-dominant immunity axis induced by genetic predisposition, innate immunity dysregulation, epidermal barrier defects, and allergic inflammation. However, the detailed pathomechanism of eczematous dermatitis, which is the principal characteristic of AD, remains unclear. This review examines previous studies demonstrating research progress in this area and considers the immunological pathomechanism of “spongiotic dermatitis”, which is the histopathological hallmark of eczematous dermatitis. Studies in this field have revealed the importance of IgE-mediated delayed-type hypersensitivity, the Fas/Fas-ligand system, and cell-mediated cytotoxicity in inducing the apoptosis of keratinocytes in spongiotic dermatitis. Recent studies have demonstrated that, together with infiltrating CD4 T cells, IgE-expressing dendritic cells (i.e., inflammatory dendritic epidermal cells and Langerhans cells) that capture specific allergens (i.e., house dust mites) are present in the spongiotic epidermis of lichenified eczema in patients with IgE-allergic AD. These findings suggest that IgE-mediated delayed-type hypersensitivity plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of spongiotic dermatitis in the skin lesions of AD.  相似文献

The Kochen-Specker theorem shows the incompatibility of noncontextual hidden variable theories with quantum mechanics. Quantum contextuality is a more general concept than quantum non-locality which is quite well tested in experiments using Bell inequalities. Within neutron interferometry we performed an experimental test of the Kochen-Specker theorem with an inequality, which identifies quantum contextuality, by using spin-path entanglement of single neutrons. Here entanglement is achieved not between different particles, but between degrees of freedom of a single neutron, i.e., between spin and path degree of freedom. Appropriate combinations of the spin analysis and the position of the phase shifter allow an experimental verification of the violation of an inequality derived from the Kochen-Specker theorem. The observed violation 2.291±0.008?1 clearly shows that quantum mechanical predictions cannot be reproduced by noncontextual hidden variable theories.  相似文献

A new complementation group of temperature-sensitive mutants of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae (ts26-1 and ts26-2) has been isolated and characterized. This mutation maps at 40.7 cM from arg8 and 48.9 cM from arg1 on the left arm of chromosome XV of yeast, providing that it is a newly identified gene. The dumbbell-shape terminal morphology of the mutant cells at the restrictive temperatures is a characteristic of mutants defective in DNA replication. To study the defect of macromolecule synthesis in the mutant cells, DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis were measured at both permissive and restrictive temperatures. The data suggest that the primary defect of this mutation is at the initiation step of DNA synthesis. The gene has been cloned from an S. cerevisiae genomic library by rescue of the conditional lethality of the mutants. It is present as a single copy in the haploid genome. DNA-RNA hybridization of the gene has identified 1 kb RNA, which is under cell-division-cycle control. DNA sequence analysis of the gene has identified an open reading frame capable of encoding a protein of molecular weight 25,055 (214 amino acids).  相似文献

Multichannel frequency conversion is demonstrated using four-wave mixing. A polarisation independent configuration is employed, by which polarisation control for each signal is not necessary. By setting the pump light frequency at the zero-dispersion wavelength of the fibre, three FSK modulated signals with a frequency spacing of 70 GHz are simultaneously converted with an equal efficiency of -27.5 dB. Bit error rate measurements confirm the feasibility of this conversion scheme.<>  相似文献

An analysis is made of the throughput and delay performance of two classes of free-access tree algorithms with minislots. In one class, binary feedback information is available in minislots, and in the other, ternary feedback information is available. It is shown that the highest maximum throughput 0.56714 is achieved in the limiting case where the number of minislots in a (large) slot is infinity and minislot overhead is zero. A lower bound of the average transmission delays in these algorithms is analytically derived. The obtained lower bound is also a lower bound of the average delay of the whole class of the free-access algorithms  相似文献

Theoretical analysis of potential distribution in the interdigital-gated high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) plasma wave device was carried out. The dc IV characteristics of capacitively coupled interdigital structure showed that uniformity of electric field under the interdigital gates was improved compared to the dc-connected interdigital gate structure. Admittance measurements of capacitively coupled interdigital gate structure in the microwave region of 10–40 GHz showed the conductance modulation by drain–source voltage. These results indicate the existence of plasma wave interactions.  相似文献
