This paper describes the application of ultrasound waves on hydrodynamics and mass transfer characteristics in the gas-liquid flow in a T-shape microreactor with a diameter of 800 μm.A 1.7 MHz piezoelectric transducer (PZT) was employed to induce the vibration in this microreactor.Liquid side volumetric mass transfer coefficients were measured by physical and chemical methods of CO2 absorption into water and NaOH solution.The approach of absorption of CO2 into a 1 mol· L-1 NaOH solution was used for analysis of interfacial areas.With the help of a photography system,the fluid flow patterns inside the microreactor were analyzed.The effects of superficial liquid velocity,initial concentration of NaOH,superficial CO2 gas velocity and length of microreactor on the mass transfer rate were investigated.The comparison between sonicated and plain microreactors (microreactor with and without ultrasound) shows that the ultrasound wave irradiation has a significant effect on kLa and interfacial area at various operational conditions.For the microreactor length of 12 cm,ultrasound waves improved kLa and interfacial area about 21% and 22%,respectively.From this study,it can be concluded that ultrasound wave irradiation in microreactor has a great effect on the mass transfer rate.This study suggests a new enhancement technique to establish high interfacial area and kLa in microreactors.  相似文献

In this study, environmentally friendly polyester based polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) were synthesized using various combinations of isophthalic acid, adipid acid and maleic anhydride (IPA-AA-MA). A triangular empirical model was employed to optimize total number of experiments for optimal performance of polyurethane dispersions. In addition to PUDs, polyurethane/acrylate hybrid dispersions (PU/AC) were synthesized using graft copolymerization method to enhance the performance/properties of PUDs and for potential cost benefit.  相似文献

The urokinase receptor (uPAR) is a cell surface receptor that binds to the serine protease urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) with high affinity. This interaction is beneficial for extravascular fibrin clearance, but it has also been associated with a broad range of pathological conditions including cancer, atherosclerosis, and kidney disease. Here, starting with a small molecule that we previously discovered by virtual screening and cheminformatics analysis, we design and synthesize several derivatives that were tested for binding and inhibition of the uPAR ⋅ uPA interaction. To confirm the binding site and establish a binding mode of the compounds, we carried out biophysical studies using uPAR mutants, among them uPARH47C−N259C, a mutant previously developed to mimic the structure of uPA-bound uPAR. Remarkably, a substantial increase in potency is observed for inhibition of uPARH47C−N259C binding to uPA compared to wild-type uPAR, consistent with our use of the structure of uPAR in its uPA-bound state to design small-molecule uPAR ⋅ uPA antagonists. Combined with the biophysical studies, molecular docking followed by extensive explicit-solvent molecular dynamics simulations and MM-GBSA free energy calculations yielded the most favorable binding pose of the compound. Collectively, these results suggest that potent inhibition of uPAR binding to uPA with small molecules will likely only be achieved by developing small molecules that exhibit high-affinity to solution apo structures of uPAR, rather than uPA-bound structures of the receptor.  相似文献

Seals prepared from acrylonitrile–butadiene rubber (NBR) are primarily used in nuclear services. Nevertheless, at relatively high ionizing radiation doses, NBR seal materials may undergo radiation-induced degradation processes, leading to adverse effects on the sealing ability life. Herein, to strengthen the functional characteristics of NBR seals against radiation, graphene oxide (GO) nanoparticles were prepared and characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and ultraviolet/visible spectroscopies. Various NBR/GO composites fabricated with different ratios of GO nanoparticles and in the presence or absence of carbon black (CB) were investigated via cross-linking density, scanning electron microscopy, XRD, FTIR, and mechanical and thermal stability analyses. The synergistic effect of the simultaneous presence of GO and CB on the NBR seal sensitization to gamma radiation up to a dose of 1 MGy was studied. The physicomechanical properties were enhanced by adding GO nanosheets up to 3 phr and by incorporating 35 phr of a CB with GO until 5 phr. Further, the application of γ-irradiation resulted in an overall enhancement in the mechanical, physical, and thermal stability of the prepared composites up to 0.5 and 1 MGy with GO nanosheets in the absence or presence of CB particles, respectively. The mechanical measurements indicated significant increments by loading with GO nanosheets in the absence and presence of CB as well as by irradiation. The tensile strength elevated up to about 121%, 336%, and 366% by adding 3 phr GO, 3 GO:35 CB phr, and 5 GO:35 CB phr, respectively.  相似文献

In the present study glycerol was successfully gasified using a diesel engine waste heat recovery system obtaining hydrogen and methane rich gaseous products. The reforming reactor was equipped with a vaporization pre-chamber to ensure uniform reactants distribution and a fixed reaction bed, being mounted in countercurrent flow configuration with the engine combustion gases stream. Accordingly, the reactions were conducted at gradually increased temperature conditions; starting at around 300 °C in the top section of the reaction bed and finishing in a controlled outlet bed temperature of 600–800 °C. When compared to homogeneous temperature reactors, the configuration used here produced a syngas of higher methane and ethylene contents. With regards to the reactor performance, syngas lower heat values of more than 22 MJ/kg were achieved with glycerol feed concentrations within 50–70% and outlet bed temperatures above 700 °C, corresponding to cold gas efficiencies of around 85%. The present results indicate that glycerin can be utilized as a syngas feedstock for steam reforming processes based on waste heat recovery.  相似文献

In many species, interval timing behavior is accurate—appropriate estimated durations—and scalar—errors vary linearly with estimated durations. Whereas accuracy has been previously examined, scalar timing has not been clearly demonstrated in house mice (Mus musculus), raising concerns about mouse models of human disease. The authors estimated timing accuracy and precision in C57BL/6 mice, the most used background strain for genetic models of human disease, in a peak-interval procedure with multiple intervals. Both when timing 2 intervals (Experiment 1) or 3 intervals (Experiment 2), C57BL/6 mice demonstrated varying degrees of timing accuracy. An important finding was that, both at the individual and group levels, their precision varied linearly with the subjective estimated duration. Further evidence for scalar timing was obtained using an intraclass correlation statistic. This is the first report of consistent, reliable scalar timing in a sizable sample of house mice, thus validating the peak-interval procedure as a valuable technique, the intraclass correlation statistic as a powerful test of the scalar property, and the C57BL/6 strain as a suitable background for behavioral investigations of genetically engineered mice modeling disorders of interval timing. A glycoside ester product was prepared by the transglycosylation of starch and glycerol, which yielded a mixture of 2,3-dihydroxypropyl-α-D-glucopyranoside and other glycerol glycosides, followed by interesterification of the crude glycerol glycosides with a mixture of mono-, di- and tripalmitin. The purified reaction product, consisting of ca. 77% glycerol glycoside palmitates, 14% palmitins and 9% free palmitic acid, was found to be extremely effective in lowering the interfacial tension between cottonseed oil and water—a 0.04% concentration in the oil phase lowering the interfacial tension to 1.3 dynes/cm. For reasons of cost and supply security issues, there is growing interest in the development of rechargeable sodium ion batteries, particularly for large-scale grid storage applications. Like the much better known and technologically important lithium ion analogs, the devices operate by shuttling alkali metal cations between two host materials, which undergo insertion processes at different electrochemical potentials. A particular challenge for the sodium systems is identification of a suitable anode material due to the fact that sodium does not intercalate into graphite. Although several alternatives, including disordered carbons and alloys are being investigated, the most promising options at present lie with titanates, not in the least because of attractive characteristics such as low toxicity, ease of synthesis, wide availability, and low cost. A large variety of sodium titanate compounds can be prepared, many of which have tunnel or layered structures that can readily undergo reversible reductive intercalation reactions. A brief overview of the physical, structural, and electrochemical characteristics of several of the most promising materials for sodium-ion battery applications is given in this paper, and a comparison is made between the sodium and the lithium insertion behaviors. For some of these compounds, insertion of sodium occurs at unusually low potentials, a feature that has important implications for the design of high-energy sodium-ion systems.  相似文献

Novel polymaleimide containing dibenzoyl hydrazine pendant group, poly[N-benzoyl-4-(N-maleimido)-phenyl hydrazide], and its metal complexes have been synthesized. Their antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli bacteria and that against Aspergillus fumigatus, Syncephalastrum racemosum, Geotrichum candidum, and Candida albicans fungi were investigated. The polymer–metal complexes showed better antimicrobial activity than that of the parent polymer. The inhibition of the growth of the microbes remarkably depends on the type of the metal in the complexes. The polymer–Co(II) and the polymer–Cd(II) complexes are more potent in inhibition of the tested microbes growth than the rest of the prepared complexes.  相似文献

Synthesis and anticonvulsant potential of certain new 6-aryl-9-substituted-6,9-diazaspiro[4.5]decane-8,10-diones (6a–l) and 1-aryl-4-substituted-1,4-diazaspiro[5.5]undecane-3,5-diones (6m–x) are reported. The intermediates 1-[(aryl)(cyanomethyl)amino]cycloalkanecarboxamides (3a–f) were prepared via adopting Strecker synthesis on the proper cycloalkanone followed by partial hydrolysis of the obtained nitrile functionality and subsequent N-cyanomethylation. Compounds 3a–f were subjected to complete nitrile hydrolysis to give the respective carboxylic acid derivatives 4a–f which were cyclized under mild conditions to give the spiro compounds 5a–f. Ultimately, compounds 5a–f were alkylated or aralkylated to give the target compounds 6a–i and 6m–u. On the other hand, compounds 6j–l and 6v–x were synthesized from the intermediates 5a–f through alkylation, dehydration and finally tetrazole ring formation. Anticonvulsant screening of the target compounds 6a–x revealed that compound 6g showed an ED50 of 0.0043 mmol/kg in the scPTZ screen, being about 14 and 214 fold more potent than the reference drugs, Phenobarbital (ED50 = 0.06 mmol/kg) and Ethosuximide (ED50 = 0.92 mmol/kg), respectively. Compound 6e exhibited an ED50 of 0.019 mmol/kg, being about 1.8 fold more potent than that of the reference drug, Diphenylhydantoin (ED50 = 0.034 mmol/kg) in the MES screen. Interestingly, all the test compounds 6a–x did not show any minimal motor impairment at the maximum administered dose in the neurotoxicity screen.  相似文献
