This article discusses the question of when the dynamical systems arising from chemical reaction networks are monotone, preserving an order induced by some proper cone. The reaction systems studied are defined by the reaction network structure while the kinetics is only constrained very weakly. Necessary and sufficient conditions on cones preserved by these systems are presented. Linear coordinate changes which make a given reaction system cooperative are characterized. Also discussed is when a reaction system restricted to an invariant subspace is cone preserving, even when the system fails to be cone preserving on the whole of phase space. Many of the proofs allow explicit construction of preserved cones. Numerous examples of chemical reaction systems are presented to illustrate the results. 相似文献

In this paper we describe approaches to clustering in systems of globally coupled identical oscillators. The first of these approaches is based entirely on the symmetry of such systems, and gives information about the behaviour of the systems near degenerate bifurcation points. We summarize existing results from such analysis, and indicate why further techniques are required to augment the symmetry-based methods. This leads to a second approach based on constructing certain reduced models. This modelling approach relies indirectly on symmetry, using the fact that the systems in question have many invariant subspaces as a result of their symmetry. It is shown how knowledge of behaviour on certain subspaces can be used to predict behaviour on others subspaces, even when their dimensions are different. In applications, this approach can be used to predict the stable clustering behaviour that cannot be predicted by other approaches and may be hard to find numerically. We report dielectric and structural properties of Ti and Er co-doped HfO2 (HfTiErOx) thin films at different substrate temperatures. The film at 400 °C substrate temperatures has the highest k value of 33, improved flat band voltage of −0.3 V, small hysteresis voltage and the significant interface-state density, which shows better dielectric properties for new high-k microstructure. XPS and XRD results reveal that Hf-Ti-Er-O bond may exist in addition with Hf-O, Hf-Er-O and Hf-Ti-O bonds, while the change in chemical structure and degradation of crystallization quality of HfO2 thin films are directly related to Ti and Er co-doping. 相似文献

Mg-Al hydrotalcites intercalated with five different interlayer anions—CO32−, SO42−, Cl−, HPO42− or terephthalate—were synthesized by either the coprecipitation or ion-exchange method. The structure of the as-synthesized samples and the presence of intended anions in the interlayer gallery of hydrotalcites were determined by X-ray diffraction and FTIR spectroscopy. On calcination at 600 °C the materials were transformed into mixed metal oxides. The kind of the counterbalancing anions present in the parent hydrotalcite influences strongly textural parameters of the obtained Mg-Al oxides. Both temperature-programmed desorption of NH3 and CO2, and test reaction of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol (MBOH) conversion were used to determine the acidity and basicity of the samples. The hydrotalcite derived mixed Mg-Al oxides showed the presence of Brønsted and Lewis acid and base sites. However, the strong basic character of the solids caused that acetone and acetylene were observed as the major products of MBOH conversion. 相似文献

This study evaluated the behavior of Salmonella and Shigella (5–6 log CFU/g) in tomato–cucumber (TC) salad without additives (control), TC with 1.0% lemon juice and 0.5% salt, TC with 10% wt/wt tahini, coleslaw, and toum sauce at 4, 10, or 24°C for 5 days. At 4°C, both pathogens survived well in all salads, with a 0.2–1.6 log CFU/g reduction after 5 days (except for toum sauce with >3.5 log CFU/g reduction after 4 days). At 10°C, Salmonella in the different TC salads remained constant, whereas Shigella numbers significantly increased by 1.0–1.7 log CFU/g after 5 days. Yet, both pathogens significantly decreased by 1.2–1.4 log CFU/g in coleslaw after 5 days and by >3.5 log CFU/g in toum sauce after 3 days. At 24°C, Salmonella significantly increased in TC salad without additives by 1.4 log CFU/g after 5 days and were below the detection level in the other types of salad after 5 days. However, Shigella numbers significantly increased by 1.0 log CFU/g in TC with tahini, but they significantly declined by 1.9–2.9 log CFU/g in TC salads after 5 days, and the pathogen was not detected in coleslaw and toum sauce after 4 days. 相似文献

Listeria monocytogenes is an opportunistic pathogen that has been involved in several deadly illness outbreaks. Future outbreaks may be more difficult to manage because of the emergence of antibiotic resistance among L. monocytogenes strains isolated from food products. The present review summarizes the available evidence on the emergence of antibiotic resistance among L. monocytogenes strains isolated from food products and the possible ways this resistance has developed. Furthermore, the resistance of food L. monocytogenes isolates to antibiotics currently used in the treatment of human listeriosis such as penicillin, ampicillin, tetracycline, and gentamicin, has been documented. Acquisition of movable genetic elements is considered the major mechanism of antibiotic resistance development in L. monocytogenes. Efflux pumps have also been linked with resistance of L. monocytogenes to some antibiotics including fluoroquinolones. Some L. monocytogenes strains isolated from food products are intrinsically resistant to several antibiotics. However, factors in food processing chains and environments (from farm to table) including extensive or sub‐inhibitory antibiotics use, horizontal gene transfer, exposure to environmental stresses, biofilm formation, and presence of persister cells play crucial roles in the development of antibiotic resistance by L. monocytogenes. 相似文献

The present study was conducted to explore the sterilizing effect of phosphine on Ephestia cautella. Three to four-day old pupae were exposed to 0, 0.007, 0.014, 0.021, 0.028, 0.035, 0.042 and 0.049 mg/l of phosphine for 24 h at room temperature. The normally developed adults of each treatment were pair mated and several physiological and genetical parameters were investigated. The results showed gradual increases with dose in pupal mortality and adult malformation. The crossing results showed no changes in adult longevity and mating frequency. However, consistent reduction was noted in the fecundity and fertility of normally emerged adults. Preliminary data indicated similar levels of inherited sterility in the F1 adults raised from the above mentioned crosses. 相似文献
