Piezoelectric thin film zinc oxide (ZnO) and its ternary alloy magnesium zinc oxide (Mg/sub x/Zn/sub 1-x/O) have broad applications in transducers, resonators, and filters. In this work, we present a new bulk acoustic wave (BAW) structure consisting of Al/Mg/sub x/Zn/sub 1-x/O/n/sup +/-ZnO/r-sapphire, where Al and n/sup +/ type ZnO serve as the top and bottom electrode, respectively. The epitaxial Mg/sub x/Zn/sub 1-x/O films have the same epitaxial relationships with the substrate as ZnO on r-Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/, resulting in the c-axis of the Mg/sub x/Zn/sub 1-x/O being in the growth plane. This relationship promotes shear bulk wave propagation that affords sensing in liquid phase media without the dampening effects found in longitudinal wave mode BAW devices. The BAW velocity and electromechanical coupling coefficient of Mg/sub x/Zn/sub 1-x/O can be tailored by varying the Mg composition, which provides an alternative and complementary method to adjust the BAW characteristics by changing the piezoelectric film thickness. This provides flexibility to design the operating frequencies of thin film bulk acoustic wave devices. Frequency responses of devices with two acoustic wave modes propagating in the specified structure are analyzed using a transmission line model. 1. Intrathecal (i.t.) administration of nociceptin and high doses of morphine induced allodynia in response to innocuous tactile stimuli, and i.t. nociceptin evoked hyperalgesia in response to noxious thermal stimuli in conscious mice. Here we have characterized the nociceptin-induced allodynia and compared it with the morphine-induced allodynia and the nociceptin-evoked hyperalgesia. 2. Nociceptin-induced allodynia was evoked by the first stimulus 5 min after i.t. injection, reached a maximum at 10 min, and continued for a 50 min experimental period. Dose-dependency of the allodynia showed a bell-shaped pattern from 50 pg to 5 ng kg-1, and the maximum effect was observed at 2.5 ng kg-1. 3. Morphine-induced allodynia reached the maximum effect at 15 min and declined progressively until cessation by 40-50 min. The dose-response curve showed a bell-shaped pattern, similar to that induced by nociceptin, with a maximum effect at 0.5 mg kg-1, five orders of magnitude higher than that of nociceptin. 4. The allodynia evoked by nociceptin and morphine were dose-dependently blocked by glycine, D(-)-2-amino-5-phosphonovaleric acid (D-AP5, an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist), gamma-D-glutamylaminomethyl sulphonic acid (GAMS, a non-NMDA receptor antagonist) and methylene blue (a soluble guanylate cyclase inhibitor), but were not affected by muscimol (a gamma-aminobutyric acidA (GABAA) receptor agonist) and baclofen (a GABAB receptor agonist). 5. Morphine did not inhibit forskolin-stimulated cyclicAMP formation in cultured cells expressing the nociceptin receptor. 6. Nociceptin-induced hyperalgesia was evoked 10-15 min after i.t. injection. Nociceptin produced a monophasic hyperalgesic action over a wide range of doses from 5 fg to 50 ng kg-1. The nociceptin-induced hyperalgesia was blocked by glycine only among the agents examined. 7. None of the pain responses evoked by nociceptin and morphine were blocked by naloxone. 8. These results demonstrate that, whereas the mechanisms of the nociceptin-induced allodynia and hyperalgesia are evidently distinct, they involve a common neurochemical event beginning with the disinhibition of the inhibitory glycinergic response. Morphine may induce allodynia through a pathway common to nociceptin, but the nociceptin receptor does not mediate the action of high doses of morphine. 相似文献

The degradation problem of naphtha arises since hydrocarbon acts as an excellent food source for a wide variety of microorganisms. Microbial activity leads to unacceptable level of turbidity, corrosion of pipeline and souring of stored product. In the present study, biodegradation of naphtha in the storage tank and its influence on corrosion was studied. The corrosion studies were carried out by gravimetric method. Uniform corrosion was observed from the weight loss coupons in naphtha (0.024 mm/yr) whereas in presence of naphtha with water, blisters (1.2052 mm/yr) were noticed. The naphtha degradation by microbes was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). IR study reveals the formation of primary alcohol during degradation process. It was found that microbes degrade (CH2CH2)n to RCH3. Iron bacteria, manganese oxidizing bacteria, acid producers, and heterotrophic bacteria were enumerated and identified in the pipeline. SRB could not be noticed. Since water stratifies in the pipeline, the naphtha-degraded product may adsorb on pipeline, which would enhance the rate of microbial corrosion. On the basis of degradation and corrosion data, a hypothesis for microbial corrosion has been proposed. 相似文献

The electronic equipment are used in several fields like, automotive, aerospace, consumer goods where they are subjected to vibration loads leading to failure of solder joints used in these equipment. This paper presents a methodology to predict the fatigue life of Pb-free surface mounted BGA packages subjected to random vibrations. The dynamic characteristics of the PCB, such as the natural frequencies, mode shapes and damping ratios were determined.
