The effect of rare earth oxide additions on the anatase-rutile transformation in doped TiO2 was investigated. Y2O3, La2O3, CeO2, Nd2O3, Sm2O3, Gd2O3, Tb4O7, Ho2O3, Dy2O3, Tm2O3 and Yb2O3, were found to suppress the transformation. The transformation process occurs in three stages. In the first stage, rare earth metal ions dissolve into interstitial sites in anatase. The resulting decrease in oxygen vacancies caused by the solid solution suppresses the nucleation of the transformation. In the second stage, the activation energy of the transformation was found to be 124 ± 3 Kcal/mol and 138 ± 4 Kcal/mol for pure anatase and anatase with 1 mol% Dy2O3, respectively. The transformation mechanism of this stage is not necessarily affected by additives. The final stage is affected by the amount of rare earth oxide-titania compound phase. 相似文献

The fatigue crack growth behavior of γ-based titanium aluminides (TiAl) with a fine duplex structure and lamellar structure has been investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) in situ observation in vacuum at 750°C and room temperature. For the duplex structured material the fatigue crack growth rates are dominated by the maximum stress intensity, particularly at 750°C. The threshold stress intensity range for fatigue crack growth at 750°C is lower than that at room temperature for any corresponding stress ratio. The fatigue crack growth rate at 750°C is affected by creep deformation in front of the crack tip. The severe crack blunting occurs when the stress ratio is 0.5. For the lamellar structured material the scatter of fatigue crack growth data is very large. Small cracks propagate at the stress intensity range below the threshold for long fatigue crack growth. The effects of microstructure on fatigue crack growth are discussed. 相似文献

Fibrates have been reported to elevate the hepatic proportion of oleic acid (18:1n‐9) through inducing stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD). Despite abundant studies on the regulation of SCD in the liver, little is known about this issue in the small intestine. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of clofibric acid on the fatty acid profile, particularly monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), and the SCD expression in intestinal mucosa. Treatment of rats with a diet containing 0.5 % (w/w) clofibric acid for 7 days changed the MUFA profile of total lipids in intestinal mucosa; the proportion of 18:1n‐9 was significantly increased, whereas those of palmitoleic (16:1n‐7) and cis‐vaccenic (18:1n‐7) acids were not changed. Upon the treatment with clofibric acid, SCD was induced and the gene expression of SCD1, SCD2, and fatty acid elongase (Elovl) 6 was up‐regulated, but that of Elovl5 was unaffected. Fat‐free diet feeding for 28 days increased the proportions of 16:1n‐7 and 18:1n‐7, but did not effectively change that of 18:1n‐9, in intestinal mucosa. Fat‐free diet feeding up‐regulated the gene expression of SCD1, but not that of SCD2, Elovl6, or Elovl5. These results indicate that intestinal mucosa significantly changes its MUFA profile in response to challenges by clofibric acid and a fat‐free diet and suggest that up‐regulation of the gene expression of SCD along with Elovl6 is indispensable to elevate the proportion of 18:1n‐9 in intestinal mucosa. 相似文献

Fatigue crack growth behavior of two typical solders 63Sn-37Pb and 95Pb-5Sn has been investigated under room temperature (20°C)
and frequency of 10 Hz. Fatigue crack growth behavior of the 63Sn-37Pb specimen tested at stress ratios up to 0.5 and the
95Pb-5Sn specimen tested at stress ratios up to 0.7 were dominantly cyclic dependent. Intergranular crack growth was observed
for the 63Sn-37Pb specimen tested at stress ratio of 0.7, which indicates that a crack grows under influence of creep. The
difference of effect of stress ratio on crack growth behavior between two solders may results from the difference of homologous
temperature. Fatigue crack growth mechanisms for solder materials are summarized as follows: A crack propagates in a transgranular
manner at low homologous temperature and low stress ratio, while it propagates along eutectic grain boundaries at high homologous
temperature and high stress ratio under influence of creep. At the intermediate homologous temperatures, a crack propagates

1-V power supply high-speed low-power digital circuit technology with 0.5-μm multithreshold-voltage CMOS (MTCMOS) is proposed. This technology features both low-threshold voltage and high-threshold voltage MOSFET's in a single LSI. The low-threshold voltage MOSFET's enhance speed performance at a low supply voltage of 1 V or less, while the high-threshold voltage MOSFET's suppress the stand-by leakage current during the sleep period. This technology has brought about logic gate characteristics of a 1.7-ns propagation delay time and 0.3-μW/MHz/gate power dissipation with a standard load. In addition, an MTCMOS standard cell library has been developed so that conventional CAD tools can be used to lay out low-voltage LSI's. A torque controller suitable for electric vehicles is studied. The controller ensures that an induction motor generates motor torque efficiently, stably and accurately. The torque control system feeds back an assumed motor torque calculated using the secondary magnetic flux and the torque current detected from current sensors of the primary currents. The motor torque is controlled by using the torque current reference determined from the generated secondary magnetic flux and the magnetizing current reference. The magnetizing current reference is determined on the basis of the torque current reference so that motor torque generation efficiency is always optimal. The magnetizing current regulator is operated according to the magnetizing current reference. This ensures the motor generates the motor torque stably even in transient states. Fundamental performance characteristics, such as response, accuracy and efficiency of the motor torque are verified by simulation and experiments. Cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption are major risk factors for lifestyle-related diseases. Although it has been reported that the combination of these habits worsens risks, the underlying mechanism remains elusive. Reactive carbonyl species (RCS) cause chemical modifications of biological molecules, leading to alterations in cellular signaling pathways, and total RCS levels have been used as a lipid peroxidation marker linked to lifestyle-related diseases. In this study, at least 41 types of RCS were identified in the lipophilic fraction of plasma samples from 40 subjects using liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC/ESI-MS/MS). Higher levels of 10 alkanals, 5 trans-2-alkenals, 1 cis-4-alkenal, and 3 alkadienals were detected in the smoking/drinking group (N = 10) as compared to those with either habit (N = 10 each) or without both habits (N = 10) in the analysis of covariances adjusted for age and BMI. The levels of 3 alkanals, 1 trans-2-alkenal, 1 alkadienal, and 1 4-hydroxy-2-alkenal in the smoking/drinking group were significantly higher than those in the no-smoking/drinking and no-smoking/no-drinking groups. These results strongly indicate that the combination of cigarette smoking and alcohol drinking synergistically increases the level and variety of RCS in the circulating blood, and may further jeopardize cellular function. 相似文献

Effect of mean stress on fretting fatigue behavior of 304 austenitic stainless steel has been investigated by conducting fretting fatigue tests at a constant contact pressure of 100 MPa under three different mean stresses i.e., 0, 350 and 450 MPa. For comparisons, plain fatigue tests were also carried out. The influence of tensile overload on fretting fatigue life was also investigated. The results showed that with an increase in mean stress, the reduction in fatigue strength due to fretting increased drastically from 51% at 0 MPa mean stress to 71% at 450 MPa mean stress. The application of tensile overload during fretting fatigue had significant influence on the fretting fatigue lives when the tensile overload was above yield strength. The fretting variables, i.e., tangential stress and relative slip amplitude were measured during fretting fatigue tests. Fracture surfaces were examined using scanning electron microscope. The results have been discussed based on the tangential stress measurement, relative slip amplitude evaluation during fretting fatigue and fracture surface examinations. 相似文献
