Vertical pneumatic conveying was studied in a 3-inch diameter riser 30 feet in length using solids ranging in particle Reynolds number from 100 to 3500. Particle to gas mass flow ratios varied from 0 to 8 and pipeline conditions extended from dilute flow down into the choking region. Average particle hold-up was determined by means of a series of quick-closing valves and particle slip velocity was often found to be greater than the calculated terminal velocity. The reasons for this are examined. Frictional pressure losses in the riser were also determined and compared with literature data. The phenomenon of choking is considered briefly.  相似文献

Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) is often used in injection molding for products that demand high heat resistance. However, proper control of its flow properties is difficult. To improve flow behavior some internal lubricants are usually used, but they reduce heat resistance of the products. Upper critical solution temperature (UCST) lubricants were found to enhance its flow properties, and also high heat resistance was retained. They act as internal lubricants during processing, improving flow and phase separation during cooling. Therefore they are present essentially as inert filler and thus have little effect on heat distortion temperature.  相似文献

The complexation between poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) was made by using double the molar quantity of either polymer component at pH 2 where the resulting complex completely precipitates. After the removal of the precipitate, PEO or PAA remaining in the supernatant was subjected to gel permeation chromatography to investigate the change in the molecular weight distribution (MWD) caused by the complexation. No remarkable difference is observed in the MWD curves for PEO[1] (Mw=1.37 × 104) before and after the complexation with PAA[1] (Mw=1.10 × 103) and PAA[2] (Mw=4.16 × 105). However, the MWD curves of PEO[2] (Mw=1.26 × 105) and PAA[2] become shortened and shift to the low molecular weight side after the complexation with PAA[1] or [2] and PEO[2], respectively. This tendency is enhanced by increasing the complexation temperature. From these results, it is indicated that the complexation between PEO and PAA deals with an equilibrium reaction, and the equilibrium constant is dependent on the chain length of both polymer components and also on the complexation temperature.  相似文献

Uniformly layered mixture of the succeeding members in the structure series was found in artificially layered Bi2Sr2Ca n–1Cu n O2n+4 films synthesized by a three-target sequential sputter deposition technique. The intergrowth structure was quantitatively evaluated by X-ray analysis technique. An averagedc-axis (half) unit length and a plane spacing d0-0.31 nm in the intergrowth structure are considered as a modulation wavelength and an average lattice of superlattice in the analysis. It is shown that the X-ray diffraction patterns observed in our films are in good agreement with that predicted by the superlattice model.  相似文献

We proposed a new method (;linearized method') to analyze neuroleptic ligand-receptor specific binding in a human brain using positron emission tomography (PET). We derived the linear equation to solve four rate constants, k(3), k(4), k(5), k(6) from PET data. This method does not demand a radioactivity curve in plasma as an input function to the brain, and can perform fast calculations in order to determine rate constants. We also tested the nonlinearized method including nonlinear equations which is a conventional analysis using plasma radioactivity corrected for ligand metabolites as an input function. We applied these methods to evaluate dopamine D(2) receptor specific binding of [(11)C] YM-09151-2. The value of B(max)/K(d)=k(3)/k (4) obtained by the linearized method was 5.72+/-3.1 which was consistent with the value of 5.78+/-3.4 obtained by the nonlinearized method.  相似文献

The coupled-mode approach is a powerful tool for analyzing surface acoustic wave (SAW) periodic structures such as reflectors and interdigital transducers. The relations among the terminal quantities at two acoustical ports and one electrical port of an interdigital transducer (IDT) are derived from coupled-mode equations. A simple distributed-parameter equivalent circuit representing the entire IDT is proposed. A few examples of applications of this equivalent circuit to analysis of SAW devices are presented.  相似文献

 We demonstrate an electrostatic micro actuator which is fabricated by LIGA process. The actuator is designed for a magnetic head tracking system of hard disk drives (HDDs). The actuator is essential to achieve very high track density of HDDs. We realize the aspect ratio of 125 by the LIGA process using a Si-Au mask. We propose to use PMMA molds both as the mechanical structure and as the insulator between electrodes. We believe there are great opportunity for the LIGA process in making micro actuators of HDDs. Piecewise linear regression has potentially broad applications in medical data analysis as well as other types of regression. Various kinds of algorithms have been proposed for finding optimum piecewise linear regressions. This paper presents a BMDP program for obtaining near optimum piecewise linear regression equations. An idea intrinsic to the method is that restricting parameter space to a discrete set makes the difficult problems become standard problems. Any software having the variable selection feature in the multiple linear regression can be used to apply the method.  相似文献
