In this work platelet lysate (PL) and adipose‐derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ASCs) seeded on nonwoven fibroin mats were in vitro and in vivo evaluated for tissue regenerative applications. Nonwoven mats obtained by a large scale water entanglement technique were characterized for their physico‐chemical properties. Results indicated a high purity of fibroin fibers, their stability after sterilization process and appropriate technological properties suitable for tissue engineering. Moreover, the scaffolds in vitro supported adhesion and migration of ASCs and the presence of PL improved the cell proliferation. The products were then applied on epithelial/dermal wounds carried out on the dorsal surface of rabbit: the skin reparative process was solved in 9 days, with a completely restitutio ad integrum of the epithelium in animals treated with PL alone; ASCs did not further improve the wound healing. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The iron sulfide mineral, pyrrhotite (Fe(1–x)S), has long been known to be more difficult to recover by flotation from alkaline slurries than many other base metal sulfide minerals. This paper summarizes the results of an electrochemical study of the surface reactions that occur during the flotation of nickeliferous pyrrhotite in the recovery of nickel and the platinum group metals. Mixed potential measurements conducted with natural pyrrhotite electrodes in various stages of an operating flotation plant showed that the mineral potential is positive to the equilibrium potential of the xanthate/dixanthogen couple. Similar results were obtained during batch flotation experiments and in synthetic solutions in the laboratory. Cyclic voltammetric and potentiostatic current/time transient experiments were used to investigate the oxidation of pyrrhotite under various conditions. In addition, the reduction of oxygen, the reaction of copper ions and the oxidation of xanthate ions at the mineral surface were investigated. The formation of dixanthogen on pyrrhotite surfaces is thermodynamically favourable in plant flotation slurries. However the interaction with xanthate at pH values above 7 is inhibited by a surface species formed during the conditioning prior to xanthate addition. In acidic solutions copper ions react readily with pyrrhotite to form a species, possibly CuS that can be oxidized at potentials above 0.4 V. At pH 9 this species does not form and there is no electrochemical reaction between pyrrhotite and copper ions. The beneficial effects of copper ions to flotation performance appear to be related to an enhancement of the oxidation of xanthate.  相似文献

We fabricate freely suspended nanosheets of molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) which are characterized by quantitative optical microscopy and high-resolution friction force microscopy. We study the elastic deformation of freely suspended nanosheets of MoS2 using an atomic force microscope. The Young''s modulus and the initial pre-tension of the nanosheets are determined by performing a nanoscopic version of a bending test experiment. MoS2 sheets show high elasticity and an extremely high Young''s modulus (0.30 TPa, 50% larger than steel). A computational study based on the Euler–Lagrange approach was developed for the characterization of flammable dusts in the 20 L sphere standard test. The aim of the study was to analyze some parameters that might affect the experimental data (e.g., cold turbulence and particle size). The turbulence of a wheat starch cloud was described with the Detached Eddy Simulation model. Both the pressure of the system and the RMS velocity were compared with the flow patterns established with a particle image velocimetry analysis. It was concluded that the rebound nozzle forms a cloud that is composed by clumps. This fact implies dissimilarities between the local concentrations and the nominal value. Finally, a granulometric analysis established that the mean diameter of the particle size distribution (PSD) decreased by 69% during the dispersion. Thus, it is suggested to consider the PSD at the ignition zone rather than the PSD of the sample. © 2017 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 63: 42–54, 2018  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Piezoelectric ceramic properties change with time. Detected aging effects for PZT ceramics are; the difference in the value of the dielectric constants diminishes, whereas dielectric losses and elastic stiffness increases. In this work, an optimisation technique based on adjusting a finite element model to reproduce the complex impedance curves of a resonant piezoceramic disk is analysed aiming to detect changes due to aging. This technique allows estimating all material parameters, both their real and imaginary parts. The optimisation uses the constitutive equations of the piezoelectric effect in the linear regime. The evolution of elastic, piezoelectric and dielectric constants is evaluated after 5 years of aging. To compute the ten complex parameters, the piezoelectric model is adjusted to minimise the difference between finite element simulations and the experimental data. Results presented here, show that the proposed technique is sensitive enough to detect changes in the individual parameters due to aging process.  相似文献

Epoxy–boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) composites were prepared using visible light through a radical‐induced cationic polymerization method activated by camphorquinone. The fully cured films showed an enhancement of glass transition temperature in the presence of the filler. Electrical characterization showed a slight dielectric constant decrease with BNNT content. Finally, thermal conductivity measured using nano‐flash analysis showed a linear increase in the thermal conductivity of the materials with increasing BNNT content in the photocurable formulations. © 2017 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

In this study the as-cast macro and microstructures of medium C – high Si cast steels of three different levels of alloying are characterised. The application of a colour-etching reagent sensitive to Si segregation effectively revealed the solidification macrostructure, showing that the patterns of macrostructure and microsegregation are governed by the initial precipitation of δ-ferrite dendrites. A study of microsegregation carried out using advanced EDS techniques showed that, for the studied chemical compositions, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, Mo and Al tend to concentrate at the last liquid to solidify. Accordingly, effective partition coefficients of values below unity were calculated for all alloying elements tested. It was verified that the minimum local Si contents measured on the steels investigated were greater than 1.7%, value above the minimum value (1.5%) necessary to obtain carbide-free bainite after austempering.  相似文献

The influence of cobalt ions in the solution on the anodic oxidation of a commercial Pb–Ca–Sn alloy under conditions typical of copper electrowinning was studied using cyclic voltammograms and potential decay transients. The cobalt ions changed the structure, morphology and chemical composition of the surface film from a loose porous film to a thin dense film. This change of surface film is the cause for the decreased rate of oxidation for the lead anode in the presence of cobalt ions. The steady state potential of the alloy during anodic oxidation decreased with (i) increasing cobalt ion concentration, (ii) increasing rotation speed, (iii) increasing temperature, (iv) decreasing acid concentration and (v) decreasing current density. The steady state potentials were lower in the presence of cobalt ions. This decrease in the steady state potential may indicate that oxygen evolution is more rapid on the more compact film formed in the presence of cobalt ions. Alternatively, an additional pathway of oxidation may be provided by the cobalt ions.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The role of the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) in fostering innovation and growth in the wider economy has been much debated, beginning with Bakhshi et al. (2008) seminal contribution. Such studies of creative industries assign a strategic role to territories, but they provide little empirical evidence. In this paper, the issues of the creative economy are combined with evolutionary economic geography topics to understand whether the CCIs are able to foster innovation and growth in the wider economy. Using an indicator of the relatedness between creative and other sectors for the Italian provinces, we analyse employment growth over a period of ten years (2006–2015). A panel data analysis is then applied to investigate the role of relatedness and the clustering of creative industries in wider economic growth, showing that, to favour growth, the creative industries require the presence of other sectors with a high degree of proximity/relatedness.  相似文献

P72, a novel human member of the DEAD box family of putative RNA-dependent ATPases and ATP-dependent RNA helicases was isolated from a HeLa cDNA library. The predicted amino acid sequence of p72 is highly homologous to that of the prototypic DEAD box protein p68. In addition to the conserved core domains characteristic of DEAD box proteins, p72 contains several N-terminal RGG RNA-binding domains and a serine/glycine rich C-terminus likely involved in mediating protein-protein interactions. A p72-specific probe detects two mRNAs of approximately 5300 and 9300 bases which, although ubiquitously expressed, show variability in their expression levels in different tissues. Purified recombinant p72 exhibits ATPase activity in the presence of a range of RNA moieties. Immunocytochemical studies of p68 and p72 show that these proteins localise to similar locations in the nucleus of HeLa cells, suggesting their involvement in a nuclear process.  相似文献
