A model was developed based upon PR78 CEOS, Twu's alpha function and vdW mixing rules for simulating a pioneering chemical process of fuel upgrading. The chemical process of aqueous biphasic hydrogenation of a real hydroformylated fuel was experimentally conducted and simulated. The hydrogenation of the fuel occurred in aqueous media with in situ produced Ru-catalyst converting containing aldehydes to the corresponding alcohols. The above heterogenization of the homogeneous catalyst offered to the process an efficient and convenient way of catalyst recovery. The reaction temperature effect and the influence of hydrogen pressure in aqueous biphasic catalytic hydrogenation were examined. RuCl3/TPPTS catalytic system proved to be an effective catalyst for fuel upgrading process, with the highest conversion of the aldehydes present in a hydroformylated fuel to reach 98.9% at 120 °C, 75 bar and at a short reaction time (2 h). A complete phase behavior of the fuel as well as a validation test of the simulation model were accomplished. 相似文献

His paper presents a tool facilitating developers of user interfaces (UIs) to experience accessibility limitations that can be posed from various disabilities during the interaction of impaired users with their developments. In this respect, various aspects of visual, hearing, physical and cognitive impairments have been modelled through filters providing approximate, yet, realistic simulations over them. These filters have formed the basis for the developed tool, which can be used either on its own (as a standalone application), or be embedded in the NetBeans Integrated Development Environment. The tool, named DIAS, allows for impairment simulations to be performed over Java, mobile and web applications. Moreover, it integrates two of the most common assistive technologies (ATs), namely a screen reader and a magnifier. As a result, developers of UIs can not only experience how interaction would be affected from various impairments, but they can also understand how their developments would be perceived by impaired users through an AT. This work aims to provide an integrated, practical solution for impairment simulation, which could be easily adopted by developers, thus realistically increasing the possibilities for the future development of interactive applications that are more accessible to users with disabilities. 相似文献

A methodology based on self-organizing feature maps and indexing techniques for time and memory efficient neural network training and classification of large volumes of remotely sensed data is presented. Results on land-cover classification of multispectral satellite images using two popular neural models show orders of magnitude of speedup with respect to both training and classification times. New methods for achieving high-quality conducting oxide metasurfaces are of great importance for a range of emerging applications from infrared thermal control coatings to epsilon-near-zero nonlinear optics. This work demonstrates the viability of plasma patterning as a technique to selectively and locally modulate the carrier density in planar Al-doped ZnO (AZO) metasurfaces without any associated topographical surface profile. This technique stands in strong contrast to conventional physical patterning which results in nonplanar textured surfaces. The approach can open up a new route to form novel photonic devices with planar metasurfaces, for example, antireflective coatings and multi-layer devices. To demonstrate the performance of the carrier-modulated AZO metasurfaces, two types of devices are realized using the demonstrated plasma patterning. A metasurface optical solar reflector is shown to produce infrared emissivity equivalent to a conventional etched design. Second, a multiband metasurface is achieved by integrating a Au visible-range metasurface on top of the planar AZO infrared metasurface. Independent control of spectral bands without significant cross-talk between infrared and visible functionalities is achieved. Local carrier tuning of conducting oxide films offers a conceptually new approach for oxide-based photonics and nanoelectronics and opens up new routes for integrated planar metasurfaces in optical technology. 相似文献

The effect of hexavalent chromium, Cr(VI), addition on various operating parameters of activated sludge process was evaluated. To accomplish this, two parallel lab-scale continuous-flow activated sludge plants were operated. One was used as a control plant, while the other received Cr(VI) concentrations equal to 0.5, 1, 3 and 5 mgl(-1). Cr(VI) concentrations of 0.5 mgl(-1) caused significant inhibition of the nitrification process (up to 74% decrease in ammonia removal efficiency). On the contrary, the effect of Cr(VI) on organic substrate removal was minor for concentrations up to 5 mgl(-1), indicating that heterotrophic microorganisms are less sensitive to Cr(VI) than nitrifiers. Activated sludge floc size and structure characterization showed that Cr(VI) concentrations higher than 1 mgl(-1) reduced the filaments abundance, causing the appearance of pin-point flocs and free-dispersed bacteria. Additionally, the variability of protozoa and rotifers was reduced. As a result of disperse growth, effluent quality deteriorated, since significant amounts of suspended solids escaped with the effluent. Termination of Cr(VI) addition led to a partial recovery of the nitrification process (up to 57% recovery). Similar recovery signs were not observed for activated sludge floc size and structure. Finally, shock loading to the control plant with 5 mgl(-1) Cr(VI) for 2 days resulted in a significant inhibition of the nitrification process and a reduction in filamentous microorganisms abundance. 相似文献

Moving between devices is omnipresent, but not for people with disabilities or those who require specific accessibility options. Setting up assistive technologies or finding settings to overcome a certain barrier can be a demanding task for people without technical skills. Context-sensitive adaptive user interfaces are advancing, although migrating access features from one device to another is very rarely addressed. In this paper, we describe the knowledge-based component of the Global Public Inclusive Infrastructure that infers how a device shall be best configured at the operating system layer, the application layer and the web layer to meet the requirements of a user including possible special needs or disabilities. In this regard, a mechanism to detect and resolve conflicting accessibility policies as well as recommending preference substitutes is a main requirement, as elaborated in this paper. As the proposed system emulates decision-making of accessibility experts, we validated the automatic deduced configurations against manual configurations of ten accessibility experts. The assessment result shows that the average matching score of the developed system is high. Thus, the proposed system can be considered capable of making precise decisions towards personalizing user interfaces based on user needs and preferences. 相似文献

A nanoporous metal–organic framework material, exhibiting an IRMOF-1 type crystalline structure, was prepared by following a direct solvothermal synthesis approach, using zinc nitrate and terephthalic acid as precursors and dimethylformamide as solvent, combined with supercritical CO2 activation and vacuum outgassing procedures. A series of advanced characterization methods were employed, including scanning electron microscopy, Fourier-transform infrared radiation spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction, in order to study the morphology, surface chemistry and structure of the IRMOF-1 material directly upon its synthesis. Porosity properties, such as Brunauer–Emmet–Teller (BET) specific area (~520 m2/g) and micropore volume (~0.2 cm3/g), were calculated for the activated sample based on N2 gas sorption data collected at 77 K. The H2 storage performance was preliminary assessed by low-pressure (0–1 bar) H2 gas adsorption and desorption measurements at 77 K. The activated IRMOF-1 material of this study demonstrated a fully reversible H2 sorption behavior combined with an adequate gravimetric H2 uptake relative to its BET specific area, thus achieving a value of ~1 wt.% under close-to-atmospheric pressure conditions. 相似文献

Eight types of A356 Al–fly ash composites were produced by pressure infiltration of high-Ca lignite fly ash. This type of
ash was used for the first time in Al-composites synthesis, and particularly by liquid metal infiltration techniques. After
examining mineralogy and chemistry, specific, narrow ash size fractions were used for the synthesis of composites, and properties
linked to microstructure and wear strength of the materials. The effect of using ground ash particles on the microstructure
and tribological performance of the composites was also investigated. It was concluded that using fine, high-Ca ash particles
can improve the properties of composites, and that using ash particles in a ground form can better facilitate the production
