Data mining techniques can be used for discovering interesting patterns in complicated manufacturing processes. These patterns are used to improve manufacturing quality. Classical representations of quality data mining problems usually refer to the operations settings and not to their sequence. This paper examines the effect of the operation sequence on the quality of the product using data mining techniques. For this purpose a novel decision tree framework for extracting sequence patterns is developed. The proposed method is capable to mine sequence patterns of any length with operations that are not necessarily immediate precedents. The core induction algorithmic framework consists of four main steps. In the first step, all manufacturing sequences are represented as string of tokens. In the second step a large set of regular expression-based patterns are induced by employing a sequence patterns. In the third step we use feature selection methods to filter out the initial set, and leave only the most useful patterns. In the last stage, we transform the quality problem into a classification problem and employ a decision tree induction algorithm. A comparative study performed on benchmark databases illustrates the capabilities of the proposed framework.  相似文献

The peak oil debate is underpinned by a biological paradigm of oil formation that generates a notion of fixed oil and gas reserves in the Earth's crust. However, the potential of the abiogenic theory of oil formation is underestimated. We will demonstrate the value of modern petroleum science based on a thermodynamic understanding of hydrocarbon formation, and both experimental and observational data, which can introduce a change into the debate. Now emotionally charged and contentious, the debate will supposedly develop a balanced and realistic scenario on gradual oil transition and a secure global energy supply.  相似文献

Based on a conjecture regarding the power of unique 2-prover-1-round games presented in [S. Khot, On the power of unique 2-Prover 1-Round games, in: Proc. 34th ACM Symp. on Theory of Computing, STOC, May 2002, pp. 767–775], we show that vertex cover is hard to approximate within any constant factor better than 2. We actually show a stronger result, namely, based on the same conjecture, vertex cover on k-uniform hypergraphs is hard to approximate within any constant factor better than k.  相似文献

Cooperative TSP     
In this paper we introduce and study cooperative variants of the Traveling Salesperson Problem. In these problems a salesperson has to make deliveries to customers who are willing to help in the process. Customer cooperativeness may be manifested in several modes: they may assist by approaching the salesperson, by reselling the goods they purchased to other customers, or by doing both.Several objectives are of interest: minimizing the total distance traveled by all of the participants, minimizing the maximal distance traveled by a participant and minimizing the total time until all of the deliveries are made.All of the combinations of cooperation modes and objective functions are considered, both in weighted undirected graphs and in Euclidean space. We show that most of the problems have a constant approximation algorithm, many of the others admit a PTAS, and a few are solvable in polynomial time. On the intractability side we provide NP-hardness proofs and inapproximability factors, some of which are tight.  相似文献

This paper presents a semi-analytical approach for the geometrically nonlinear analysis of skew and trapezoidal plates subjected to out-of-plane loads. The thin elastic plate theory with nonlinear von Kármán strains is used for the nonlinear large deflection analysis of the plate. The solution of the governing nonlinear partial differential equations with variable coefficients is reduced to an iterative solution of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using the multi-term extended Kantorovich method. The geometry of the trapezoidal plate is mapped into a rectangular computational domain. Parallelogram (skew) plates are considered as a particular case of the general trapezoidal ones. The capabilities and convergence of the method are numerically examined through comparison with other semi-analytical and numerical methods and with finite element analyses. The applicability of the approach to the nonlinear large deflection analysis of skew and trapezoidal plates is demonstrated through various numerical examples. The numerical study focuses on combinations of geometry, loading and boundary conditions that are beyond the applicability of other semi-analytical methods.  相似文献

Design of reinforced concrete structures is governed by the nonlinear behavior of concrete and by its different strengths in tension and compression. The purpose of this article is to present a computational procedure for optimal conceptual design of reinforced concrete structures on the basis of topology optimization with elastoplastic material modeling. Concrete and steel are both considered as elastoplastic materials, including the appropriate yield criteria and post‐yielding response. The same approach can be applied also for topology optimization of other material compositions where nonlinear response must be considered. Optimized distribution of materials is achieved by introducing interpolation rules for both elastic and plastic material properties.
