The probability table representation of cross-sections is generally used to deal with neutron interactions in the unresolved energy range. In the frame of neutron transport methods, the capability of the probability table representation of cross-sections on the whole neutron energy range has been mentioned by Cullen (1974) and it has been already demonstrated for the Monte Carlo transport calculations by Zheng et al. (1998). Such an advantage is also illustrated here with a simple neutron propagation configuration dealt with the TRIPOLI-4 Monte Carlo transport code.  相似文献

This paper presents a new over-sampling echocanceller structure in which a simple structured interpolator is introduced and replaces half the number of echo-cancellers used in a classical structure. If dis-symmetrical equipments are authorized at the extremities of the transmission system (different carrier frequencies), the cascade of an echo-canceller and an interpolator reaches much better performances than those of a classical system. This is due to the interpolator which reduces the noise of the gradient algorithm governing the echo-cancellers evolution. Using such an interpolator decreases the computational complexity in very attractive proportions (up to 44%). Computer simulations confirm theoretical developments and let appreciate the good robustness of the depicted system.  相似文献

InNauphoeta cinerea, male calling behavior is associated with sex pheromone release by the sternal glands. The male pheromone that attracts females from a distance is a mixture of 2-methylthiazolidine and 4-ethylguaiacol. It is active at very low concentrations, 0.05 and 0.01 ng, respectively. Two other compounds, 3-hydroxy-2-butanone and 2-methyl-2thiazoline, act at close range, keeping the female in the vicinity of the male. The function of the volatile pheromone and those of previously described contact pheromones are discussed in regard to their possible involvement in the establishment of male dominant-subordinate relationships.  相似文献

Biocomposite of bioactive glass (BG) with chitosan polymer (CH) is prepared by freeze-drying technique. Obtained material is investigated by using several physico-chemical methods. The XRD and FTIR show the interface bonding interactions between glass and polymer. The specific surface and porosity of biocomposite were determined. In vitro assays were employed to evaluate the effect of chitosan addition on the glass by studying the chemical reactivity and bioactivity of the BG and BG/CH biocomposite after soaking in a simulated body fluid (SBF). The obtained results show the formation of a bioactive hydroxycarbonate apatite (HCA) layer and highlight the bioactivity and the kinetics of chemical reactivity of bioactive glass, particularly after association with chitosan. The BG/CH biocomposite has excellent ability to form an apatite layer. Inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) highlights the negative effect of chitosan on the silicon release toward the SBF of bioactive glass when in vitro assays.  相似文献

The assessment of the exposure to electromagnetic waves is nowadays a key question. Dealing with the relationship between exposure and incident field, most of previous investigations have been performed with a single plane wave. Realistic exposure in the far field can be modeled as multiple plane waves with random direction of arrival, random amplitude, and random phase. This paper, based on numerical investigations, studies the whole body specific absorption rate (SAR) linked to the exposure induced by five random plane waves having uniformly distributed angles of arrival in the horizontal plane, log-normal distributed amplitudes, and uniformly distributed phases. A first result shows that this random heterogeneous exposure generates maximal variations of ??25% for the whole body specific absorption. An important observation is that the exposure to a single plane wave arriving face to the body, used for the guidelines, does not constitute the worst case. We propose a surrogate model to assess the distribution of the whole body SAR in the case of an exposure to multiple plane waves. For a sample of 30 values of whole body SAR induced by five plane waves at 2.4?GHz, this simple approach, considering the resulting SAR as the sum of the SAR induced by each isolated plane wave, leads to an estimated distribution of whole body SAR following the real distribution with a p value of 76% according to the Kolmogorov statistical test.  相似文献

Ni-doped ZnO thin films (Ni concentration up to 10 mol%) were generated on Si (100) substrates by a sol-gel technique. The films showed wurtzite structure and no other phase was found. The chemical state of Ni was found to be bivalent by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results of magnetic measurements at room temperature indicated that the films were ferromagnetic, and magnetic moment decreased with rise of Ni concentration. Because of heterogeneity of developing countries, energy consumption dynamics can only be analysed at the level of individual countries. This paper focuses on the comparison of the energy consumption dynamics of South Korea, India, Brazil and Mexico and on the origins of the dynamics observed. It is shown that the same factors explain the diversified energy consumption dynamics: the national availability of energy resources, the energy policies and the modes of industrialization adopted, as well as the patterns of private consumption.  相似文献

The paper analyzes the two major components of the Bush Administration’s climate policy, namely an emission intensity target and a technology strategy. The question is whether those components will generate net emission reductions that will contribute to the stabilization of the greenhouse gas concentration at a safe level in the long run. It comes out that the Bush Administration climate policy does not guarantee any meaningful contribution to climate protection. The lenient emission intensity target set by the Administration will most likely allow near term emissions to grow. In the long run, the Bush Administration places a big bet on future climate-friendly technological breakthroughs to cost-effectively compensate for the current and near term net emission increases. But the outcomes of those technological developments are uncertain in terms of emission reduction potential, cost, and timing. The way towards enhanced climate protection will most likely not come from the policies of the current Administration, but rather from the growing concern about the climate issue in Congress and at the state, corporate and civil society levels. These combined forces may raise the playing field at the federal level in the near future.  相似文献

Elastin-like recombinamers (ELRs) are smart, protein-based polymers designed with desired peptide sequences using recombinant DNA technology. The aim of the present study was to produce improved tissue engineering scaffolds from collagen and an elastin-like protein tailored to contain the cell adhesion peptide RGD, and to investigate the structural and mechanical capacities of the resulting scaffolds (foams, fibers and foam-fiber bilayer scaffolds). The results of the scanning electron microscopy, mercury porosimetry and mechanical testing indicated that incorporation of ELR into the scaffolds improved the uniformity and continuity of the pore network, decreased the pore size (from 200 to 20 μm) and the fiber diameter (from 1.179 μm to 306 nm), broadened the pore size distribution (from 70–200 to 4–200 μm) and increased their flexibility (from 0.007 to 0.011 kPa−1). Culture of human fibroblasts and epithelial cells in ELR-collagen scaffolds showed the positive contribution of ELR on proliferation of both types of cells.  相似文献
