A method is presented that uses a vectorial multiscale feature image for wave front propagation between two or more user defined points to retrieve the central axis of tubular objects in digital images. Its implicit scale selection mechanism makes the method more robust to overlap and to the presence of adjacent structures than conventional techniques that propagate a wave front over a scalar image representing the maximum of a range of filters. The method is shown to retain its potential to cope with severe stenoses or imaging artifacts and objects with varying widths in simulated and actual two-dimensional angiographic images.  相似文献

This paper reviews various concepts and solutions of time-invariant and time-varying multirate filter banks. It discusses their performance for image and video coding at low bit rates, and their applicability in the mpeg-4 framework. Time-invariant multirate filter banks, and methods of design with different criteria appropriate for signal compression are first presented. Several procedures of quantization, namely scalar and lattice vector quantization, with bit allocation optimized in the rate-distortion sense, are used for the encoding of the subband signals. A technique of rate-constrained lattice vector quantization (rc-lvq), combined with a three components entropy coding, allow, together with distortion psychovi-sual weighting mechanisms to obtain significant visual improvements versus scalar quantization or the zerotree technique. However, time-invariant multirate filter banks, although efficient in terms of compression, are not well suited for content-based functionalities. Content-based features may require the ability to manipulate and thus encode a given region in the scene independently of the neighbouring regions, hence the use of transformations that can be adapted to arbitrary size bounded supports. Also, to increase the compression efficiency, one may want to adapt the transformation to the region characteristics, and thus use transform switching mechanisms, with soft or hard transitions. Three main classes of transformations can address these problems: shape-adaptive block transforms, transforms relying on signal extensions and transforms relying on time-varying multirate filter banks. These various solutions, with their methods of design, are reviewed. Emphasis is put on an extension of the SDF (symmetric delay factorization) technique which opens new perspectives in the design of time-bounded and time-varying filter banks. A region-adapted rate-distortion quantization algorithm has been used in the evaluation of the transformations compression efficiency. The coding results illustrate the interest of these techniques for compression but also for features such as quality scalability applied to selected regions of the image.  相似文献

We present a simple mean value analysis (MVA) framework for analyzing the effect of scheduling within queues in classical asymmetric polling systems with gated or exhaustive service. Scheduling in polling systems finds many applications in computer and communication systems. Our framework leads not only to unification but also to extension of the literature studying scheduling in polling systems. It illustrates that a large class of scheduling policies behaves similarly in the exhaustive polling model and the standard M/GI/1 model, whereas scheduling policies in the gated polling model behave very differently than in an M/GI/1.  相似文献

The electronic structure of mono and bilayers of colloidal 2H-MoS2 nanosheets synthesized by wet-chemistry using potential-modulated absorption spectroscopy (EMAS), differential pulse voltammetry, and electrochemical gating measurements is investigated. The energetic positions of the conduction and valence band edges of the direct and indirect bandgap are reported and observe strong bandgap renormalization effects, charge screening of the exciton, as well as intrinsic n-doping of the as-synthesized material. Two distinct transitions in the spectral regime associated with the C exciton are found, which overlap into a broad signal upon filling the conduction band. In contrast to oxidation, the reduction of the nanosheets is largely reversible, enabling potential applications for reductive electrocatalysis. This work demonstrates that EMAS is a highly sensitive tool for determining the electronic structure of thin films with a few nanometer thicknesses and that colloidal chemistry affords high-quality transition metal dichalcogenide nanosheets with an electronic structure comparable to that of exfoliated samples.  相似文献

In this paper, we present GrowliFlower, a georeferenced, image-based unmanned aerial vehicle time-series dataset of two monitored cauliflower fields (0.39 and 0.60 ha) acquired in 2 years, 2020 and 2021. The proposed dataset contains RGB and multispectral orthophotos with coordinates of approximately 14,000 individual cauliflower plants. The coordinates enable the extraction of complete and incomplete time-series of image patches showing individual plants. The dataset contains the collected phenotypic traits of 740 plants, including the developmental stage and plant and cauliflower size. The harvestable product is completely covered by leaves, thus, plant IDs and coordinates are provided to extract image pairs of plants pre- and post-defoliation. In addition, to facilitate classification, detection, segmentation, instance segmentation, and other similar computer vision tasks, the proposed dataset contains pixel-accurate leaf and plant instance segmentations, as well as stem annotations. The proposed dataset was created to facilitate the development and evaluation of various machine-learning approaches. It focuses on the analysis of growth and development of cauliflower and the derivation of phenotypic traits to advance automation in agriculture. Two baseline results of instance segmentation tasks at the plant and leaf level based on labeled instance segmentation data are presented.
