Intercalated molecules can dramatically modify the electronic band structure of layered semiconductors, significantly altering the optical properties of the material. In the layered monochalcogenide Gallium Telluride (GaTe), exposure to air induces a nearly 1 eV reduction of its band gap due to the interlayer diffusion and chemisorption of oxygen. The effect of oxygen chemisorption at the Te‐terminated surfaces on the structure of GaTe, however, is much less known. To better understand the structure–property relationship of intercalated GaTe, a systematic, long‐term, X‐ray diffraction study has been performed on GaTe exfoliated crystals exposed to ambient conditions. It is observed that the structural changes are not limited to a previously observed short‐term increase in lattice expansion. Over the course of months and even years after exfoliation, the oxygen adsorbates continue to modify the structure of GaTe, inducing significant disorder and grain reorientation. It is estimated that approximately one out of every two grains is slightly displaced by the intercalating oxygen, demonstrating a significant increase in grain mosaicity, while still maintaining the original {?2 0 1} out‐of‐plane texture. Correlating these structural transformations to observed changes in electrical and optical properties will enable capitalization of the use of adsorbates to engineer novel properties in these layered materials.  相似文献

Metal‐organic gels (MOGs) appear as a blooming alternative to well‐known metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs). Porosity of MOGs has a microstructural origin and not strictly crystalline like in MOFs; therefore, gelation may provide porosity to any metal‐organic system, including those with interesting properties but without a porous crystalline structure. The easy and straightforward shaping of MOGs contrasts with the need of binders for MOFs. In this contribution, a series of MOGs based on the assembly of 1D‐coordination polymer nanofibers of formula [M(DTA)]n (MII: Ni, Cu, Pd; DTA: dithiooxamidato) are reported, in which properties such as porosity, chemical inertness, mechanical robustness, and stimuli‐responsive electrical conductivity are brought together. The strength of the M? S bond confers an unusual chemical resistance, withstanding exposure to acids, alkalis, and mild oxidizing/reducing chemicals. Supercritical drying of MOGs provides ultralight metal‐organic aerogels (MOAs) with densities as low as 0.03 g cm?3 and plastic/brittle behavior depending on the nanofiber aspect ratio. Conductivity measurements reveal a semiconducting behavior (10?12 to 10?7 S cm?1 at 298 K) that can be improved by doping (10?5 S cm?1). Moreover, it must be stressed that conductivity of MOAs reversibly increases (up to 10?5 S cm?1) under the presence of acetic acid.  相似文献

This paper addresses the design and implementation of digital unbiased finite impulse response (FIR) filters with polynomial impulse response functions. The transfer function, its fundamental properties, and a general block-diagram are discussed for the impulse response represented with the l-degree Taylor series expansion. As a particular results, we show a fundamental identity uniquely featured to such filters in the transform domain. For low-degree impulse responses, the transfer functions are found in simple closed forms and represented in compact block-diagrams. The magnitude and phase responses are also analyzed along with the group delays. A comparison with predictive FIR filters is given. As examples of applications, filtering of time errors of local clocks is discussed along with the low-pass filter design employing a cascade of the unbiased FIR filters.  相似文献

This work presents a resistorless self-biased and small area sub-bandgap voltage reference that works in the nano-ampere consumption range with 0.75 V of power supply. The circuit applies a curvature compensation technique that allows an extended temperature range without compromising the temperature stability. The behavior of the circuit is analytically described, and a design methodology is proposed which allows the separate adjustment of the bipolar junction transistor bias current and its curvature compensation. Simulation results are presented for a 180 nm CMOS process, where a reference voltage of 469 mV is designed, with a temperature coefficient of 5 ppm/°C for the ?40 to 125 °C extended temperature range. The power consumption of the whole circuit is 16.3 nW under a 0.75 V power supply at 27 °C. The estimated silicon area is 0.0053 mm2.  相似文献

The nanometric carbon CMK‐3 modified with Pt was synthesized and applied as a reservoir for hydrogen uptake. We found that the newly synthesized hybrid composites exhibited significantly enhanced H2 storage. The approach that we have followed includes synthesis of nanostructures with the experimental study of its adsorption capacity and storage properties. In summary, we have shown that CMK‐3 ordered porous carbon modified with Pt nanoclusters is a promising material for hydrogen uptake. The samples were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, N2 isotherms, X‐ray photoelectron spectra and transmission electron microscopy. The nanoparticles of Pt (~1.7 nm) incorporated onto the nanostructured carbon CMK‐3 showed higher hydrogen uptake at low and high pressures (3.3 wt% of H2 sorption at 10 bar and 77 K) than CMK‐3. The maintenance operations of ITER NB components inside the vessel - Beam Line Components (BLC's) involve the removal of the faulty component, its transport to the hot cell as well as the reverse operations of transport of the repaired/new component and its reinstallation inside the vessel. Prior to the removal of the BLC's the cooling pipes must be detached from the component following a procedure that applies to the cutting of the pipes and subsequent welding when the component is re-installed. The purpose of this study, conducted in the framework of EFDA, is to demonstrate the feasibility of the cut and weld operations on the water pipes of the BLC's using fully remote handling techniques. Viable technologies for the cut and weld operations have been identified within the study; in particular the following aspects will be presented in the paper:
• Different strategies can be pursued in the detachment of the components depending on the number of cut and weld operations to be performed on the pipes. The selected strategy will impact on the procedure to be followed likewise on important aspects as the requirements of the flexible joints assembled on the pipes.
• The existing cutting techniques have been examined in the light of the remotely performed pipe cutting at the NB cell. Modifications of commercial tools have been proposed in order to adapt them to the BLC's pipes requirements. The debris produced during the cutting process must be controlled and collected, therefore a cleaning system has been integrated in the adapted cutting tool referred above.
• The existing welding techniques have been also examined and compared based on different criteria such as complexity, reliability, alignment tolerances, etc. TIG welding is the preferred technique as it stands out for its superior performance. The commercial tools identified need to be adapted to the NB environment.
• The alignment of the pipes is a critical issue concerning the remote welding. A proper alignment system has been proposed taking into account the pre-selected welding technique.

Evidence from dental-related stem cells (DRSCs) suggests an enhanced potential for ectodermal lineage differentiation due to their neural crest origin. Growing evidence that DRSC cultures can produce cells with a neural crest-derived stem cell (NCSC)-like phenotype supports their potential for future therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative diseases and nerve injuries. However, most of the evidence is limited to the characterization of DRSCs as NCSCs by detecting the expression of neural crest markers. Only a few studies have provided proof of concept of an improved neuro-glial differentiation or direct applicability in relevant models. In addition, a current problem is that several of the existing protocols do not meet manufacturing standards for transferability to a clinical scenario. This review describes the current protocols to obtain NCSCs from DRSCs and their characterization. Also, it provides important considerations from previous work where DRSCs were established and characterized as mesenchymal stromal cells but studied for their neuro-glial differentiation potential. The therapeutic advancement of DRSCs would depend on establishing protocols that can yield a neural crest-like phenotype efficiently, using appropriate manufacturing standards and testing them in relevant models of disease or injury. Achieving these conditions could then facilitate and validate the therapeutic potential of DRSC-NCSCs in regenerative therapies.  相似文献

An exploratory study demonstrated that subtle changes in solids and process water were caused by long-distance turbulent transport of tailings from the concentrator to the impoundment of a Cu (Mo) porphyry copper deposit. Slurry water chemical analysis was complemented by modelling potential phase precipitation or dissolution and speciation of dissolved metals. It was found that transport did not affect major insoluble mineral phases. However, the degrees of liberation of several phyllosilicates, as determined by automated mineralogy, were reduced close to the impoundment, which points to separation of clay particles from tectosilicate surfaces by the turbulence; this also was observed by SEM examination of micro-aggregate specimens. Reduction of maximum particle sizes, increased N2 monolayer adsorption, and resultant specific surface areas indicate that transport modified the micro-aggregates. Major element water chemistry is controlled by the presence of soluble mineral phases, such as gypsum, and reagents, such as lime, in the flotation process. Changes in the dissolved concentrations of some elements could potentially affect tailings deportment in the impoundment. Increased concentrations of Al may affect the clay settling behaviour, while Mo and As levels will require treatment prior to the discharge of water from the tailings impoundment. This study demonstrated that systematic scrutiny of tailings slurries leaving the concentrator and before entering the impoundment can be potentially useful, though care will have to be exercised to replicate sample handling and analytical conditions, during any long-term monitoring.  相似文献
